Mic technique, movement, audience engagement.

About Julie

I have been teaching voice, guitar and piano to students of all ages and levels for over 5 years now. I graduated Summa Cum Laude from Berklee College of Music with a BA in Songwriting and Vocal Studies. I teach mostly contemporary musical styles such as Pop/Rock/Country/R&B, but I have also trained and coached many students interested in pursuing musical theater and classical styles as well. I have performed live in countless venues in many cities both as a solo artist, and with a band as a side-woman. I like to emphasize performance skills as well as the basic techniques. I also have a lot of experience in the recording studio, and I relate that to any student interested in recording. As a songwriter, I have co-written with a few of my students and coached them on song structure, ...

Julie is doing a good job of trying to keep Alexandria focused. Julie works well with her. Alexandria's attention during the 30 min. sessions is not as good as I had hoped. But Julie continues to try different songs, methods to keep her focused.

Eduardo C. Sacramento, CA

I perform every week!! Let me help you!! :-)

About Eduardo

Since my birth, my life was influenced by music and my father's passion to sing. My sense of music started not with understanding of lyrics, but of melodies and rhythms. As matter of fact, the first language I learned was music!! How is this possible?! Well, because of my hearing disability, I did not speak fluently and very well until I was in 9th Grade!! But with God's grace, I understood the language of music first!! At the age of 10 months, I was hit with a deadly disease: Spinal Meningitis. But thank God, I survived. Because of the disease, I became legally deaf (profound-severed) in my left ear and hard-of-hearing (severed) in my right ear. I currently use a hearing-aide device on my right ear. Regardless of my hearing disability, I have the gift of playing music, understanding ...

American Sign Language · In studio
Two years ago, I started taking American Sign Language lessons with Eddie. My sign communication was not smooth and fluent. Eddie took me under his wing and taught me so much.

I now sign at church, majoring in American Sign Language in college and just completed my first ASL class with an A from a tough professor. I wouldn't be where I am today if it wasn't for Eddie. He is the best and I highly recommend him!! He is an awesome teacher!!

Excellent overall in all aspects!

Love my piano lessons with Eddie and look forward to them each week. I feel I'm a challenge but like to think that he won't believe the adage, "You can't teach an old dog new tricks!"

What is the difference between noise and sound? What makes the difference between the performances of 2 people who are at equal skill level? How do you make yourself stand out above the rest? Let me help you discover the vast difference between playing or singing notes and playing or singing music.

About Kimberly

I grew up in a household of 9 where music was always center stage. We would sing as a family in different venues and were often called the VonTrapp family. I have enjoyed singing and performing from a young age. I began studying flute at age 8, after scoring highest in the harmony listening exam and began formal violin lessons at the age of 9. I studied all genres including, fiddle, classical, musical theater and 20th century. I have continued to study violin since then and have performed in many orchestras and small groups, such as Honor Orchestra, the Paradise Symphony, the Yuba College Orchestra, Yuba-Sutter Oratorio Society Orchestra and more. I have been concert master and first stand in many of these. I have also soloed in many and have been the first violinist in quartets for ...

Great Teacher!!!

Kimberly is an excellent teacher and I highly recommend her. She is patient with you as a student and explains things at your level. She is very knowledgable about music as she plays many instruments and has a great ear. As an adult student she had me learn to read music early in the lesson which I found to be very helpful. Lessons are at her home and it is in an appropiate setting. My Lessons fly by as she has an engaging teaching style and she stays focused on helping your improvement from week to week. She is flexible in rescheduling your weekly lesson if needed.I would rate her an A+ as a Music teacher!

I really enjoyed taking lessons from Kat. She's a fun teacher who knows her stuff. She explained to me the mechanics of singing in a way that I could easily understand. She was great at pinpointing the exact areas that I needed to work on and gave me specific directions to enhance my abilities. She made me feel very comfortable and helped me get over my fear of singing in front of others. I look forward to more lessons with Kat in the future.

PERFECT MATCH FOR MY 5 y/o!!!

Kat works very well with little ones. She was very relaxed from the very first visit which definitely made it even easier on my 5 y/o daughter. During our last lesson my daughter had the case of the "sillies". Kat's tone remained the same & never once showed any signs of frustration. She was and is absolutely wonderful with her! Kat has an amazing voice & my daughter cant stop talking about her & cant wait for her lessons. We definitely made the perfect choice!

Excellent Voice Teacher for My 8 Year Old Daughter

Kat has been an excellent voice instructor for my 8 year old daughter. She is kind and patient, yet has a buoyant energy that engages my daughter in a way the some teachers cannot. The techniques and skills she is imparting to my daughter are invaluable. I highly recommend Kat for anyone (of any age too!) looking for high quality voice lessons.
