I help students learn to practice by having them play measure by measure, often over and over. Often I play with the students so they can perfect the rhythms and timing. I have been a working musician and occasional private music teacher for over 40 years. During that time I had a career in the professional audio and video industry, during which I learned how to successfully deal with people. I recently returned to school and completed a Bachelor of Music in Music Education degree at CSU Sacramento. My goal is to bring excitement and enthusiasm for music and playing an instrument to my students, and to create musicians who will make and enjoy music throughout their lives. With over a decade of performing experience, Carlos is a devoted student of jazz and has studied with Dave Eshelman, Dann Zinn, Harry Skoler, Mike Mcmullin, Dann Higgins, Dale Wolford and others. He completed a performance certificate at the Berklee school of music in Boston, where he was awarded a scholarship on alto sax by the Berklee World Scholarship Tour (2004).
