Samantha started taking piano lessons at age 3 from her mother, who was also a music teacher. She played piano continuously through school, and also learned to play clarinet, guitar, flute, trumpet and sax, often playing different instruments in her school's band. She also learned the violin and cello all before graduating high school and starting college. While still in HIgh School, she started teaching young beginners in her mothers studio. She attended Pensacola Christian College in Florida, majoring in Piano Performance, under the watchful eye of Mr. Daniel Nagy from Brazil. She transferred to Clearwater Christian College, Tampa, FL, her Junior year to study with Dr. Craig Ralston, graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Music. After graduation she took a position at
I have been teaching oboe for over two years and I've played oboe for eight years. Oboe lessons will focus on the most important aspects of oboe playing: tone production and embouchure. I aim to give all my students well rounded musical knowledge about theory, music history and musical terminology.
I am currently studying at West Chester University of Pennsylvania majoring in Violin Performance, with oboe as my minor instrument. I perform with the Symphony Orchestra, Chamber Orchestra, Opera Orchestra, Baroque Ensemble and many other small ensembles on campus. I am also an active performer in the local area, and I especially enjoy playing in operas and musical theater. I have experience playing classical, fiddle and rock genres, with my focus being classical. I have been teaching students of all ages and levels for the past five years. I recently completed the introductory 'Every Child Can!' course for Suzuki instructors and will be continuing my training to become fully certified. I am a member of American String Teachers Association (ASTA), a national organization promoting music ...
I have been teaching private music for more than 30 years in the New Jersey and New York City area. My area of expertise is in Oboe performance and my Alma Mater is The New England Conservatory of Music, where I studied Oboe Performance. Many of my students have successfully placed very well in Region & All-State Auditions, and many have been awarded College and Music Conservatory Scholarships for music. I currently teach in my very comfortable and artistic 'In-Home' studio in East Windsor, NJ.
I have worked with the NJ Special Arts Program in designing group therapeutic music programs - but, for teaching private music lessons I have found that the special needs of the youngster must be mild, rather than severe. I have taught the violin to children as young as 4 yrs and have developed a specialty in this arena. I have also teach extremely advanced students on Oboe, Clarinet, Flute, Sax, Piano, Violin, & Cello who are preparing for College & Music Conservatory auditions...as well as older adults who wished to return to an instrument they played when they were younger or who just wanted to finally learn what was always their dream. In addition, I sometimes coach professionals who have important upcoming recitals and performances, and who just need tweaking to their ...
