About Laurelanne
I graduated from Georgia College and State University in Milledgeville, GA with a BA in Music Education, voice principal. During my years in public schools I taught a variety of age ranges and subjects including kindergarten general music, beginning band, high school chorus, and remedial middle school English and language arts. I have professional Yoga training and enjoy incorporating aspects of that when tutoring adult, middle school, high school, and elementary students. I also uses Yoga, brain respiration and other healing techniques in my lessons as needed.

I was a member of The William
Baker Festival Singers and Summer Singers since 2003 before becoming Media Relation Coordinator in 2006 and Assistant to the Music Director in 2008 and left the group in July of 2009 to pursue other musical ventures.

Every student has a potential for greatness no matter what their strengths and weaknesses are. No matter your age or ability level I will help you set your goals and reach them. All students should want to learn. I expect my students to be prepared and have an open mind. Learning to sing is a process. I focus on building technique and a strong musical foundation and customize my lessons for every student and individual needs. I use breathing techniques and exercises that are challenging and work toward quick and accurate results. I implement a variety of exercises to improve pitch, intonation, placement, strength, and endurance. My main goal in teaching is to encourage each student to get to know their vocal strengths and weaknesses while using all their skills to their advantage producing their best sound consistently.

It is a slow building process but a student should always be happy with what they do every day but never be satisfied and know that what they do today will be ever better tomorrow. We all grow and learn together and improve every time we try. I expect my students to do the best they can, practice regularly, be on time and have patience. I am excited about music and know it is also important to have fun and enjoy the process. So lets make some goals and get started!

Laurelanne made me feel so comfortable on my first singing lesson. No one ever feels comfortable singing for the first time in front of someone else and she did it! I was taught breathing techniques and I really hope to eventually sing at a festival in a year when I become really good. She's definitely the person to go to if you want to learn to sing!!

About Casey
While still in high school, three of my songs were featured on National Public Radio and I was able to play at the Bluebird Cafe in Nashville. I next went to school at App State and then graduated from the Atlanta Institute of Music and headlined the graduation concert! My grad school was moving around Atlanta, Savannah, Athens, Nashville, New York and Chicago as a hired guitarist, and teaching in music stores. I played in a wide range of styles and roles (engineer, promoter, musical director, band leader etc) and around 300 gigs!

I took a break last year to finish 2 books I had bounci
ng around in my head and hard drive and self published them last year! The books compliment lessons so our time is spent showing you how to play and playing together, not you looking at me, while I draw a chord. The books have tab with rhythm, chord/scale diagrams and a written description of each topic like an encyclopedia. They also show you how music fits together and give you a solid foundation to build on and music ideas you can use.

As a performer in Savannah, Georgia, my band received the "Best Blues Band" award from Connect Magazine in 2007. I'm currently endorsing Curt Mangan Strings and Gadow Guitars because they're awesome!!!

*** Lesson Details ***
My teaching style is all about building on what you already know and pointing out what you're doing right. I'm a very laid back person and love to hear and learn new music so I try to incorporate the music you want to learn as much as possible. Above all else I try to teach you how to practice so that you get the most out of your guitar when you're not in your lesson.

*** Studio Equipment ***
recording studio, amps, music stand chairs...has a dog.

*** Travel Equipment ***
Travel amp, acoustic or electric, cables.

*** Specialties ***
I specialize in teaching theory, technique, performance and improvisation through song so you don't feel like you're working. I am fluent in and have performed these styles on stage: rock, jazz, blues, pop, metal, show tunes, surf, funk, jam, and R&B. I like it all! I teach you to have a solid foundation and how to get songs performance ready. I also try to encourage you to write your own music and can show you some ways to be more creative and get more mileage out of some of the things you already know.

Since September our daughter has been taught by Miss Chelsea through an after school drama program and other workshops. Under Chelsea's guidance our daughter has blossomed with a passion for drama. Chelsea is committed and prepared for lessons. We've seen her encourage each child in a gentle but firm way that makes it educational but super fun! I highly recommend Chelsea as a theater/stage teacher.

She took my daughter who was not really sure about being in a play and now, because of Chelsea she has the acting bug and is getting ready to try out for her second musical in one year!!! My other daughter who is in 1st grade loved being on stage! LOVED it. Chelsea made it fun, and my girls feel in love with it. They admire Chelsea and her way of teaching these kids are amazing!!! My oldest is 11 and youngest is 6. We are very luck to have crossed paths with Chelsea and look forward to more musicals!!!

About Bethany
I am a graduate of Piedmont College, graduating Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelors in Church Music and a Masters of Arts in Music Education. I majored in voice and minored in piano, studying voice with Barbara Steinhaus. I have taught both in the classroom and privately in the metro Atlanta area for 10 years.

While pursuing my degrees, I accompanied various ensembles and students at Piedmont and was a member of the elite 9-member a cappella group, Cantabile. I am currently a professional singer and pianist in the Atlanta area, singing and playing various genres including classical, worship, p
op, and jazz.

I teach various genres of music—everything from classical to popular music. I believe that teaching multiple genres enables students to become well-rounded musicians and learn to express themselves in a variety of ways. I believe that aural skills and the ability to read music help singers and instrumentalists alike to be the best musicians they can be.

*If you don't see your available time slot, just let me know and I'll see what I can do to accommodate your schedule!

My experience with Crystal has been amazing!! Crystal expertise in technical, ballet, liturgical, jazz, hip hop, and African dance is out of this world. Crystal took her time to show me (at the time a non dancer) all of those dances and now I am no longer a beginner!! Now Crystal has asked me to travel with her to several dance conferences. We have also done a few routines together! One of the venues was at the Phillips Arena!! AMAZING!
