"I have taken a lot of acting classes in my lifetime. But my experience with April as my acting coach was by far the best education I have ever had. She r
eally personalizes every lesson to give you the best direction and expertise possible so you can create characters that are believable and realistic. April also has given me some really valuable pointers to use during auditions that have helped me to get noticed by casting directors. She is a genuine talent and a wealth of information. I don't know what I would do without her."

"I was able to book incredible dance lessons with Ferlyn at the last minute for my friends who needed dance lessons for their wedding. Here is what they h
ad to say:
"We had a little over a week before our wedding and needed to figure out our first dance. We went to Ferlyn for dance lessons. In 5 sessions we had our first dance down! She helped us build confidence in our dance. She is extremely professional and helpful. She allowed us to change up some moves and suggested new moves that would improve our style. We learned a lot of new techniques with great insight. Our first dance went really well and we definitely recommend her!" - Dang & Niki
I've received glowing reviews from them about that experience ever since, and they'll be cherishing that memory forever. I will continue to recommend Ferlyn for my other friends from now on! She won't let you down!"

"I am currently a naval officer nearing retirement. I wanted to try stage and film acting and contacted Corbin because I had no experience. Since I began
working with Corbin in March 2015, I have been cast in a play, The Graduate, and a musical, Dogfight, and have auditioned for TV episodes and short films. For The Graduate, Corbin provided a safe, interactive, one-on-one, and encouraging atmosphere. This was important for me because I did not want to be doing this for the first time at my age in front of a class of college students. As I had never done this before, Corbin was able to draw upon his decades of experience to not only help me in reading my lines and develop my character but also mentored me on what to expect once on the stage and cast and crew expectations for me. For my musical audition training, I regard Corbin as a subject matter expert. It has been approximately 25 years since I’ve done any formal choir/music training and Corbin was able to immediately identify areas in my singing that required work. He had me work on vocal exercises and breathing techniques all of which helped increase my range and increase my confidence when singing in front of a room full of people for the audition.
Corbin is an outstanding coach and mentor! He uses his on-stage and in front of the stage experience to help the actor develop their character and he won’t let the actor deliver any performance that’s less than their best. Lastly, and perhaps most importantly, he likes to have fun during lessons. I’ve been with him now for seven months and I’m excited to work on future projects with him!"

I graduated with a BFA in Acting/Theatre from the theatre program at Syracuse University (SU). During my time there, I studied at the Globe Theatre in London, in addition to spending a semester taking classes with Broadway and TV/Film Casting agents in New York City. I've done a few musicals in regional theatres in New York. And currently, I am a working actor in and around the city of Chicago. I have experience music directing, directing, choreographing, and teaching acting and voice throughout the year for a elementary/middle/high school students and programs around the Chicagoland area. In
addition, I music direct and teach private voice lessons for an adult a cappella group in Chicago called Fear Experiment. I studied voice, music theory, piano, acting, and dance within the SU theatre program and have been teaching for over 10 years. In addition, I taught music and theatre to special needs adults for all four years of college.
*** Lesson Details *** I am energetic, positive, and specific. In lessons, we will focus on properly using your breath and body to have the best technique possible. Singing is easy and fun and I hope to instill that in all my students. I like to get work done while still smiling and laughing. Between 1 to 6 months, you can expect to have a stronger and fuller voice/sound, feel more confident singing/acting, and perform with more ease. We will stretch your vocal range so you begin to sing even higher and lower than before! I like to start the lesson with warm-ups and vocalizations, work in a little music theory, and then work on repertoire. I have many repertoire books and can help you choose songs that best fit your age, gender, and personality. However, you can also have the option of bringing in pieces you need to work on for auditions, shows, or just for fun! I encourage students to record the lesson so that you can practice between lessons and record notes if you are learning a song. I think music and theatre allows people to express themselves, gain confidence, and use their creativity/imagination. Great technique is a solid foundation for developing skills and individuality in your craft and a long career.
*** Studio Equipment *** I have a keyboard.
*** Travel Equipment *** I can provide a keyboard.

I had a great first lesson. She listened to my goals and concerns about my voice and then in a short half hour lesson worked me though many exercises that really helped me address my concerns and are helping me reach my goals. She is friendly and easy to work with but good at keeping me on track.

across. It is because of this that I feel I can help you reach your full potential. It is my goal to share my passion for performing arts with others so that they might become excited about their potential and future. I hope to empower others with the knowledge of using there instrument properly and efficiently so that they may utilize their talents to their fullest potential. Through lessons with me my students will enjoy and flourish in using their talents and become confident in doing so. Though I am your teacher, instructor, coach and I am also a fellow performer. I understand that everyone learns differently and I try to take various approaches to help the student get the most out of each lesson. I encourage my students to be open and honest with me about each aspect or their lesson so that we can, together, tailor a lesson plan that best fits each individual.
I am also CPR/AED certified- this is just one way to make sure your child or you are safe while taking lessons while me.
*** Lesson Details *** Lessons are designed to better the performances and techniques of a singer, dancer, or actor. Techniques such as breathing, diction, pitch, tone, posture, rhythm, smoothness, and stage presence will be practiced. I do my best to develop lessons that are tailored to each student based on their individual needs. Lessons start simply with gentle vocal exercises based on humming and open vowel sounds. Each student can expect to be challenged through exciting a stimulating exercises. I also teach techniques to improve posture, poise and vocal performance. I enjoy using simple scales to improve pitch and volume while also working on clarifying the students voice. A students performance, whether they aspire to be a performer, teacher, or just enjoy performing should have a positive self portrait of themselves. We will work on building confidence so we as performers can take pride in ourselves and what we represent. My students are expected to practice outside of the lesson. I also encourage them to keep a practice journal of when and how long they have practiced. It helps the students to trouble shoot areas of their performance and take the opportunity to ask questions during the next lesson. My students and I will strive to - To develop an understanding of basic music theory. - To take responsibility for their musical and vocal growth. - To reach for improvement and not perfection. - To work on the memorization of a performance. - To try their hardest with each lesson. - To come to each lesson with an idea of what they would like to achieve. - To constantly sing correct pitches and rhythms in all songs/performances. - To practice correct posture and breathe support. Most importantly, - To enjoy their performance and learn to embrace the natural talents they are given.
*** Studio Equipment *** I work from a loft apartment, consisting of an area next to computer with a home recording studio area for music and keyboard. There is also seating for parents if they desire to attend lessons.
*** Travel Equipment *** I highly suggest the student have their own keyboard/piano. I do have a keyboard and music along with theory books and lesson plans, but would expect a quiet work environment for the student to pay attention.
*** Specialties *** In dance I am well educated in every area but my strengths include: Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Lyrical and Modern. In vocal performance and technique: Opera, Musical theater, Lyric Soprano and Alto Music: Classical, Contemporary, Rock, Pop, Christian, Country, R&B, Hip Hop

I was very lucky to have found Kelly. I had always dreamed of having artistic talent but I am not a naturally good singer. Within two years, I have gone from singing in the shower to having developed to stage performance. Kelly has taught me so much from the artistic expression of singing to the mechanics of turning my voice into an instrument. She has an incredible ability to listen to my voice and pinpoint the exact adjustment I need to make it sound great. She's such a fun person to be around that I always look forward to my next lesson. Her positive attitude and approach is also a testament to her high level of professionalism. She provides feedback that is positive. but also helps me improve She is the perfect combination of teacher and coach and I would highly recommend her for anyone interested in singing.

Kelly has been my 15 year old son's acting instructor for the past three years. Kelly's broad knowledge of acting techniques coupled with her engaging and fun teaching style was a BIG win for my son's self-confidence. Kelly's can do attitude and positive outlook is contagious. She inspires you to want to improve your craft; having fun in the process. Kelly taught my son techniques that are useful in all aspects of communication; skills he can take into his adult life. I would recommend Kelly to anyone who is interested in acting, improv, public speaking or an overall tune up on how to read and respond to social situations. Thanks Kelly!

Miss Kelly has been an incredible help to my daughter in learning valuable vocal techniques as well as helping her learn music theory and helping her prepare to study music in college.
I have extensively studied vocal performance and opera for many years and continue to add to my own technique. I have a Master's in vocal performance from the Chicago College of Performing Arts. I have studied other vocal genres, such as jazz, rock, and pop. I have previously taught at The School of Rock in Indianapolis Indiana. I have administered vocal lessons to every voice type at all different levels. Several of my students have recored albums and are currently performing all over the U.S.
I have a bachelors degree in biology with a minor in art. After graduating college, I was a full
-time high school biology teacher, volleyball coach, and director of the school musical. As a high school teacher, I learned first hand the kind of pressure and expectations that are placed on students in order for them to succeed. In college, I was the head student researcher on a two-year lab project. I took several upper level science courses including: biochemistry, calculus, organic chemistry, calculus based physics, cell biology, anatomy, and physiology. I studied marine biology in the Virgin Islands and am CPR certified.
*** Lesson Details *** Voice lessons with me are fun and effective. You can expect to hear improved technique from day one, eventually reaching your long term goals. I begin every lesson aligning the students voice through various vocal warm ups and exercises. We then work together to pick repertoire that will suit the singer's voice and they will enjoy singing. During a lesson we will also cover performance presentation, acting, diction, rhythm, musicality, style, and interpretation.
During tutoring you can expect a personalized plan based on your goals and aspirations. Since every student is different you can be assured we will come up with a plan that is designed just for you. I am a laid back tutor but will be sure to get the most out of you after our time together. Most students see at least a one letter grade improvement. My main goal for every tutoring session is student learning and comprehension.
*** Studio Equipment *** Piano, recording equipment, large collection of sheet music
*** Specialties *** I specialize in helping students find their true singing voice.

As a singer/songwriter looking to improve my vocal chops, I needed to find someone that I could jump right in with and start improving right away. Benjamin provided me with a really comfortable environment and laid back teaching approach that has given me great confidence in myself as a performer.
From the great, useful warmups to the very insightful critiques, Benjamin has taught me a lot about my own voice and what I have to work with. I've improved drastically over the last few months, and his suggestions and ideas about how to approach various singing techniques are without a doubt the reason why.
I look forward to continuing my lessons with Benjamin, and I have very high hopes in myself as an artist after learning from him a great deal about what it takes to be a good singer!

Ben is fantastic! My two daughters really enjoyed his lessons.
I have at least a little experience in everything performance related. You name it - chances are I've done it! The two areas I have the most experience teaching though are acting / audition coaching (I've been teaching this on and off for over 10 years), and vocal coaching / singing lessons. While I am a highly trained singer that can sing anything from Pop, to Broadway to Opera - I am NOT the best accompanist. As long as you are fine working on songs with a pre-recorded accompaniment track, or acapella - I'm the teacher for you! I'm also a former cast member of Walt Disney World and am a
skilled puppeteer. I'm a funny / nerdy / silly teacher, so all levels of students will feel welcome. I look forward to teaching you!

I've worked with a number of voice teachers and have always really struggled. The fact is: just because someone can sing and has been trained to sing, doesn't mean they can teach. Monica is a teacher almost as much as she is a performer. She THINKS about pedagogy ALL the time, like real teachers do. When she is learning, she is thinking of ways to pass on that knowledge to her students. She puzzles about EACH of her students, crafting lessons for THAT particular student, starting where that student is, and moving them forward in the way that particular student needs to be moved forward. There is no cookie cutter progression of lessons from Monica. This natural spirit of a teacher also shows in the balance she has between real passion to see her students improve (and so the desire to push her students) and TOTAL supportive patience as they move at their own pace. That is a rare skill. Finally, for me, as an actor, I see singing primarily through the lens of the stage and my theater career. Other teachers have TRIED to take that into account by occasionally mentioning it, but Monica ONLY thinks as a stage performer and so EVERYTHING she does is with auditions and performances in mind. This means we don't waste time on songs I can't use or on vocal styles I can't use, and we're always dealing with the practical application to the work I want to do. Monica cares, loves what she does on stage and while she's teaching, SEES her students for who they are and has never yet lost her curiosity for understanding what stands in my way as a singer and how she can best help me overcome it. I'm so grateful that I met her and for the progress as a singer she's helped me attain.

My husband and went to Miss G because we were looking for someone to choreograph our first dance together at our wedding. We wanted something different and upbeat, and Miss G choreographed the perfect dance for us! She is a wonderful teacher, she's very patient (we never took dance lessons before and she walked us through every step!), and we had a wonderful time! I would highly recommend her!
