I love teaching! How incredible it is to aid people in the joy of music, build their confidence, and help them sing with ease and comfort! I am a classical vocal performance graduate from Belmont University. I have sung all over the world, as a soloist with a missions organization The New America Singers. We sang in Thailand, Hong Kong, Singapore, the Philippines, South Korea, Russia and Germany, with our largest audience being over 6,000 people. I have performed several solo concerts in Germany, directed Children's Musicals, and have been teaching private voice at my home studio, the YMCA in
Brentwood, as well as Rock Springs Middle school. Teaching voice is something that I am passionate about. I had some vocal health issues when I was younger, but thankfully I had an incredible teacher who not only helped me fix them but also taught me how to help others. I do not teach children under the age of 12 because their voices are not developed enough, and so it can cause them more harm as they get older. Many of my vocal issues that I had to work though was because I started to young, and I do not want your kids to have to go through that. I have been teaching the past few years, and have enjoyed every minute of it. I am excited to be able to help students who wish to improve their vocal abilities. Whether it is for the pursuit of a singing career, correction of vocal issues, if you have always wanted to sing on key, or you just want to sound better, I can help you accomplish your goals.
*** Lesson Details *** Healthy singing is key. - Proper breath support is the first key to singing well. -We do an assortment of vocal exercises picked for the individual voice. These exercises help correct various vocal issues, strengthen quality of tone, widen your vocal range, and help warm up the voice as to not hurt anything when singing a song. -I also have a Zoom H4 voice recorder to make high quality recordings of your voice, so you can learn from hearing yourself as well as having the exercises recorded for listening at home. -I also teach sight singing to those who would like to learn. -I will help you learn new songs, teach musical techniques, as well as stage presence.
The lessons are for you, if you want to work on something specific that is what we will do. I always have a plan for want to work on but I am flexible. The more work you do at home, the more work we can accomplish in our lesson. Most of all you need to have fun singing!
*** Studio Equipment *** -Piano -Music Stand -CD Player -Zoom H4 voice recorder -Sound Level Meter
I have SD cards available to purchase, as well as SD card readers. If you would like to buy it somewhere else the SD card must be a 2GB card, as my recorder does not take anything higher.
*** Specialties *** I originally pursued opera, so I enjoy classical voice technique. It has taught me how to use one's own body to amplify the voice. I enjoy working with people with vocal issues, such as vibrato problems, tension etc. I also love the theatrical side that Broadway brings, as well as opera. There are so many elements that makes a singer good.

My name is Tatiana. I am a music industry professional and musician. I studied at the University of Miami's Frost School of Music, where I earned my bachelor's degree in Music Business and Entertainment Industries. During my music business studies, I was also a classical voice principal under the instruction of Dr. Nobleza Pilar.
I have been teaching privately for about eight years now. I began teaching to assist my High School voice teacher, Jeannine Stemmer, then continued with my own studio throughout my college career in Miami, FL. I then taught for three years in the New Yor
k City area and am now located in Nashville, TN.
Students can expect to learn something new about their voice at each lesson. It is important to understand your own vocal quality and potential. While practicing techniques specifically suggested for each individual, students can experience and utilize their skill to its full potential.
I really enjoy working with new singers. Not only is it a wonderful opportunity to explore new teaching methods and hearing different styles of voices, but it is also a way to keep my techniques up to par. It takes a great understanding of method/technique to be able to teach it to others and I really appreciate that factor of teaching.
Last thing to know about me- I also teach beginner piano for children, ages 3-12 and music theory for all ages, beginner-intermediate levels.
I look forward to hearing from you and scheduling our first lesson!
*** Lesson Details *** In all of my lessons, I like to take the first half of our time working on breathing and singing warm-ups. In order to ensure a proper and healthy way of singing, it is important to understand what parts of our bodies should be engaged when we sing.
With a good amount of warm-ups to start, students are sure to be relaxed where is needed and able to work on their performance naturally and positively. Once exercise is complete and sufficient, I like to introduce repertoire for my students to work on and to , eventually, learn from memory.
Evaluation occurs during the last few minutes of our session. This could include assignments to complete for the following lesson, critiquing, and/or, techniques to work on daily.
*** Studio Equipment *** Baby grand piano located at my home studio.
*** Specialties *** Contemporary, musical theatre, and classical voice; proper breath technique for projection; performance etiquette; English/Italian/Spanish diction; interpretation of song; piano; music theory

I am passionate about Music and Music Education. It's rewarding for me to watch my students develop in their musical skill and enjoy making music more and more. My students range from the very young (4 years old) to school age children, to teens, and adults. My students benefit from my expertise in teaching Vocal and Piano music, my knowledge of Music Theory, and my encouraging teaching style. I have been involved in making music since I was a young child, and I have been teaching private students since I was a Music major at the University of Florida in 1982 when a fellow college student as
ked me to teach her voice lessons. I have a Music Education degree from the University of Florida; my major instrument was Voice, my minor was Piano. I taught as a public school music educator in Florida, California, and Tennessee between the years of 1983 to 1997. I taught private students after school in my classroom while I was a public school teacher, and from my home since 1997. My post-graduate continuing professional education includes Tennessee Arts Academy at Belmont University, Kodaly Pedagogy and Solfege Level 1 (vocal teaching techniques, do-re-mi, ear training), Orff-Schulwerk Music for Children Level 1 certification, Yamaha M.I.E. (Music In Education) Piano Lab certification. My professionalism and expertise are at your service. I will work together with you to insure an enjoyable and informative learning experience.
*** Lesson Details *** A typical lesson in my studio would begin with a brief question/answer time with the student to learn how their week has gone, and how their music practice is progressing.
For PIANO LESSONS we begin with Technique including scales and dexterity exercises, then we play from the Lesson book and a Recital selection. I typically let the student play through the pieces they have prepared without interruption, then I call attention to corrections that need to be made, I demonstrate the correction, and then ask the student to play the piece again. After that we go over the Theory assignments, and do Ear Training exercises. I am comfortable teaching from a variety of different methods courses. The methods course is chosen according to the student's interest. I never require a piano student to continue using books that are not inspiring. There so many methods courses available, that a student may always be able to have methods books they LOVE.
In my SINGING LESSONS we also begin with a recap of the student's week. Then we continue with Warm Up exercises to prepare the student's voice for the lesson. Then we study Sight Singing and Solfege Singing (do-re-mi-fa-sol-la-ti-do) to increase the student's listening skills. After that the student sings their selections. Like I do in Piano lessons, I listen to the pieces they have prepared without interruption, then I call attention to corrections that need to be made, I demonstrate the correction, and then ask the student to sing the piece again. I am comfortable teaching many styles of vocal music including classical, Broadway, pop, rock, and Christian.
For MUSIC THEORY lessons, the study material is chosen according to the student's interest and age. Topics include notation, chord structure, chord progression, melodic structure, and harmony. I also incorporate Music Listening in the Music Theory lesson in order to learn from the masters in many styles of music. My Music Theory students will also have the opportunity to develop composition and songwriting skills if they desire.
My teaching style is structured and friendly, keeping the student's goals and interests at the forefront. I enjoy motivating students to reach their highest potential. After 3 to 6 months in my studio my students will see improvement in their musical technique, ear training, music reading, notation, and knowledge. They will be preparing recital pieces for an upcoming performance. I provide two recital opportunities a year: in December, and in May. Most importantly, the student's love and appreciation of music will be growing.
*** Studio Equipment *** Living Room: piano near front entryway, couch, loveseat, over-sized chair, dining room table, open space, end table with chair, parents can sit in on lesson.

Erica has been a great voice teacher for my daughter. My daughter has only been taking lessons since July and she has come a long way & really enjoys Erica & her lessons. Erica encouraged her to sing a solo in the Christmas Recital recently & over time, my daughter, felt confident enough to perform and she performed wonderfully. Erica has also been very flexible at switching our lesson days b/c my daughter is also involved in sports and have had many scheduling conflicts.

"Bulent had taught me what no voice teacher in New York City could not do.
"What can I say about Bulent... As a tenor I had no idea how to sing the high n
otes. When I sang, they used to come out, but sounded tight, so I never got a part in an opera. Well, just in one lesson I vocalized to a high C with the knowledge he gave me. I actually, for the first time, knew how I did it. It was incredible. I was so happy that for the first time in years of voice training in upstate New York, 10 years in Manhattan New York City, studying with teachers that sang at New York City Opera and the Metropolitan Opera Company, and not one of them, was able to teach me what Bulent taught me in one lesson. He is very clear in his teachings. He taught me how to breathe and use my abdominal muscles. AMAZING. I'm so excited to have found Bulent. I've never given up on my dream, at times I wanted to, but now Bulent has given me a new hope that hopefully within a year I can actually audition for a part in a opera. Now I can actually call myself a tenor. A Dream Come True. Thank You, Bulent."
