We're a few lessons in and Chuck is helping me a lot! As someone who does not have a performance degree, I have a lot of basic questions about how to practice, rehearse and perform. Chuck has been great and I look forward to continuing to learn!

Being a complete beginner with no background in music or playing a musical instrument, Chuck was patient and enjoyable to work with. I am excited about the future lessons!

Michael P.

Boston, MA

Tuba, like trombone and trumpet requires the same brass fundamentals of tone quality, range, articulation and music theory. Lessons will entail working on fundamentals, learning repertoire of many styles and I will encourage improvisation (not necessarily jazz).

About Michael

Hi there! I'm Michael and I recently graduated from New England Conservatory (NEC) with my BFA in Jazz Performance on trombone while also completing NEC's Music-In-Education (MIE) Concentration. I'm currently an active trombonist in the Boston music scene having played with a wide variety of groups at many of Boston's top venues. I also enjoy curating and producing music events and festivals! But most importantly, I love to teach (that's why you're here, right?)! Working with people and watching them grow brings me a lot of joy. A recent highlight was hosting my first recital for my students at my private studio-- it was a really special evening and am excited for more! Feel free to e-mail at mprentky@gmail.com or call me at 617-827-7378. I'd love to chat! *** Lesson Details ...

My daughter is learning so much from Michael. She started out having no idea how to play any brass instrument. She's now been taking lessons with Michael for 4 months and is making great progress. He's a fantastic teacher and also very reliable and communicative around scheduling issues. Highly recommended.

My 14-year-old loves his lessons with Michael. Michael makes learning the trumpet fun because because they play the music my son is interested in learning. We no longer fight when it's time to practice.

Danilo is the Best

Danilo is enthusiastic and fun. My son likes him very much and is learning a great deal. He enjoys his lessons. I think Danilo is a great match for my son - this is why I drive for one hour to get to the lessons and up to two and a half hours to get back home. (Traffic).
Danilo is a great teacher and very talented musician!! I'm thrilled we found him!

I have worked with Danilo for a few weeks and look forward to every lesson. Not only is he very talented, he is patient, attentive, and really works with you on getting the best out of every lesson. I would reccomend him to anyone looking to start an instrument or to get back into playing an instrument.

Danilo has not only taught my son trumpet, he has taught him to love music.

Danilo is a gifted teacher as well as an excellent musician. He tailors each lesson to my son's inclinations and interests while moving him along towards greater mastery of the trumpet. He encourages my son's curiosity and has conversations with my 10-year-old that touch on pretty sophisticated musical ideas. I cannot recommend Danilo more highly. He is patient, kind and always well-prepared for each lesson which builds on the work from the week before.

Antonio W.

Waltham, MA

About Antonio

Hello! I am a recent college graduate in music who focused on theory, conducting, performance, and composition throughout college. While I am able to teach students in many different areas of music, I focused on piano in college and really enjoyed working with students who played brass instruments. In high school I played most brass instruments and all 4 saxophones (depending on what was needed with my high school band). In college I was asked to play trumpet for our symphonic band for 2 years and I played piano with our jazz band. I am a hands on instructor who believes in working with students and showing them what I expect. My students should expect to for me to play an instrument along with them and teach through showing.

John is one of the most gifted musicians I know. His ability to see music as an extension of his soul sets him apart from the herd. John helped with my breathing so I can last longer. I would recommend anyone to meet with john and take a lesson on anything musical. Love this guy!!!

John is extremely versatile and talented, and his love for music is so obvious and inspiring. I went to him with what I thought was a solid foundation of knowledge but he brought so many new ideas to the table that I started thinking of music in a whole new-and positive- way. He is very personable and easy to work with, and he treats you with respect and focused attention to detail. Definitely try working with him, you won't regret it!
