I've really been enjoying lessons and have been getting a lot out of them! Flexibility with scheduling concerns has also been well appreciated!

My daughter was so nervous for her first lesson and Phillip was amazing. She is 14 and said, "He didn't make me feel bad that I am not as good as I should be and so that makes me feel like maybe i can play better."
So grateful Phillip - she is anxious to spend the summer learning from you - we appreciate your approach and as he said ability to "put her at ease" so she can feel comfortable to learn. Awesome first lesson.

I am an experienced French horn teacher of 5+ years, specializing in the elementary and intermediate levels of the instrument. I am currently enrolled at The Catholic University of America, earning an Artist Diploma in French Horn Performance. I grew up immersed in music, having a bass trombonist father recently retired from 25+ years in the U.S. Army Band. During my high school years I was a member of the American Youth Philharmonic Orchestras in the DC Metropolitan area. I was also a member of Brass of Peace, a scholarship program for gifted young musicians, which was directed by former hornist of the National Philharmonic, Sylvia Alimena. I made Virginia All-District and All-State bands several years in a row. I have personally studied with Phil Munds (former Baltimore Symphony Principal Horn), Kelly Satterwhite (current U.S. Army Concert Band Principal Horn), and currently study with Eric Moore (former U.S. Navy Band Principal Horn). In the spring of 2020, I made the semifinals ...

Victoria has been a great teacher. My son always looks forward to his lessons.
Laura
Victoria has been a great teacher for our daughter! We appreciate that she has offered a virtual teaching option for students to continue practicing and playing at home. Our daughter loves to play and Victoria has moved her through learning the basics to learning "real songs" as our daughter says. Highly recommend her as an instructor.
Melissa Scheibe
Victoria has been amazing teaching my daughter play the french horn! At first my daughter only wanted lessons for a summer. My daughter has enjoyed taking lessons from Victoria so much, we are still taking lessons with her abt 18 months later! My daughter learns so much in each lesson that she wouldn't get in school.

When my son asked for lessons for the piano I instantly reached out if she could fit him in. Victoria is patient and encouraging with the kids that makes learning an instrument fun!

Chris has been great with my middle school band student teaching/coaching the fundamentals and making trumpet fun again. My kiddo looked forward to his weekly lessons and enjoys band again! His confidence level while playing has soared. Definitely recommend.

Chris is kind and patient. He is not a French horn player, but is able to teach the basic components. He discusses the form of playing a lot. My daughter has enjoyed learning from him.

Fantastic Experience!

As a colleague of Chris' I can heartily recommend his teaching to any trombonists wishing to hone their skills as musicians. Chris focuses on the individual needs of each student, working to tailor his lessons to meet their specific needs and face their unique challenges. His attention to detail and patience helps each student build a strong foundation in musicality and fantastic brass playing. I recommend him highly as both a superb educator and performer!

"Our son has been taking Horn lessons from Mr. Olivier for a year and a half (our son has only been playing horn for that amount of time) and loves it. Olivier doesn't just teach notes, he always takes care to foster musicality in our son. He has supported and helped our son prepare for All-Districts and Youth Symphony auditions where our son has secured first chair in both. We truly believe our son would not be this successful without Mr. Olivier's guidance. If you are interested in growing musically while mastering this beautiful instrument, he is the teacher for you! Always finding new pieces, and warm-up exercises to keep our son excited! Thank you Mr. Olivier"

"My 13 year old daughter wanted lessons to improve on her french horn playing . We found Pasquale through his positive reviews and thought we would give him a try. I was a little apprehensive that lessons could be effective through the Internet verses in person. I was wrong.
Pasquale called us as soon as we signed up for lessons to introduce himself, exchange Skype information as well as iron out the best times for lessons.
I played French horn from 5th grade through most of high school and also took some private lessons.
I was extremely impressed with Pasquale. He took the time to really explain to my daughter the mechanics of playing a brass instrument better than I ever heard it when I was younger.
He had my daughter take notes and gave her assignments for the next week.
I am looking forward to watching my daughter's playing grow under his guidance."
