I have taught classical, acoustic, electric, rock, country, blues, and mariachi as far as genres are concerned. I'm always open to more though! I generally start by teaching note reading with the Progressive Guitar book series, 3 in all. After that I move over to Suzuki Classical Guitar training to work the right hand technique and formal note reading skills. It is also required that my students find other songs of their choosing to supplement the classical. I find it is important, even necessary, that students start developing their musical taste early, while they get used to playing many styles of music. Of course, as a student, you have full right to design your own curriculum if there are things you want to learn, or things you prefer not to. If there is a specific genre you're interested in, or you just want to be able to play along with others around a campfire, I can help you get started!
