Jessie M.

Pasadena, CA

Learn the basics for acting in a fun way! Each lesson will be modified to fit the student's personal level, from beginner to advanced. Lessons will include information on how to audition, how to find auditions, audition preparation, acting lingo, how to choose monologues, how to create an acting resume and head shot, and so much more. We will work on your monologues or anything you would like to bring in, in addition to everything listed. I teach with patience and fun because I feel that this is the key to achieving goals and inspiring a good habit of practice.

About Jessie

Every student is a unique person who deserves a lesson customized to his or her individual needs. Each of my students prospers in an atmosphere of patience and encouragement. While the lessons are fun and enjoyable, the serious student will be supported in the development of skills leading to a rewarding career. And the more casual students will grow in an appreciation of music that will always enrich their lives. As a music major I developed a deeper understanding of music theory, piano, voice, and theater. I received my A.A. in Music at College of the Desert and my Bachelor of Music degree at the University of Redlands- which I attended on a music scholarship. I have played leading roles in several operas and musicals in Southern California, including Gianni Schicchi, Die Fledermaus,

Vanessa L.

Burbank, CA

Beginner- Introducing the novice actor to character development, memorization technique, and finding the joy in play.

Intermediate- Refining character development using physicality and vocal quality, introduce script analysis, finding freedom in creative choices.

Advanced- Pushing self-imposed limits to find courage in trying new creative choices, in-depth character analysis, finding subtlety and nuance in every beat.

About Vanessa

Bachelor's in musical theater performance from Columbia College Chicago. Audition prep (acting/singing) and vocal technique for clients since 2007. My critique during your lesson is always honest, so you know when I give you a compliment it is well deserved. I especially love working with non-singers and helping them find their voice. I always start with an assessment to see where your work is currently at and where we can go from there. I keep notes during your lesson, send you an email afterwards with your homework for the week, then I use those notes to think of personalized ways to improve your technique before your next lesson. If honesty and results are what you're looking for in a teacher, I promise to be that teacher for you. *** Lesson Details *** Whether you're ...

Debbie K.

Burbank, CA

Lessons include an Audition and Cold Reading Tips Sheet as well as film clips emailed the day after the lesson for you to review your progress.

About Debbie

Tutoring has been a major part of my life for over 7 years and I love it. Seeing the excitement in a student's eyes when they finally get something they've struggled with is why I do what I do. My strength is in getting to know the way a student learns best and finding techniques that support that style and help the student grow. I have experience working with mild autism and have multiple references if interested.

Improv Acting · In studio
I've taken a few Improv classes with Wes, and let me say, they have been the most beneficial Improv classes for my career. Each exercise Wes used was not only fun, but helpful in strengthening my overall acting skills. He uses his knowledge to best benefit each student regardless of class size. His extensive knowledge of the craft can only help you, whether for stage or film. There's a sense of freedom that Wes helped me find in creating characters, navigating a scene, and preparing for auditions. I noticed incredible growth of my skills after taking just a few classes. I would highly encourage any actor to attend his class!!

Wesley is a fantastic teacher. His extensive experience with acting is immediately apparent in both his knowledge and skills. His ability as a teacher meant that in a sizable class I still received consistent attention. He makes the process of learning completely comfortable and enjoyable, and he has a lot to teach.
He's also hilarious, which never hurts.

High school theatre teachers are required to know a lot about the entire craft of theatre. . .but we can't know everything - and that's where Wes comes in. For me, Wes has coached Shakespearean speeches and taught a workshop on makeup for the stage. Both lessons were taught via FaceTime and were extremely effective. My students received top notch advice and instruction that was delivered in a manner that balanced professional, expert, and charming. . .they keep talking about Wes! Wes isn't just there for the lesson time, though. Like a great teacher should, he prepares in advance and follows up after. His attention to detail is excellent. I look forward to working with Wes in the future and recommend him without reservation and with enthusiasm.
