I've been teaching The Bass for 17 Years, and have been playing the Bass for 24 years. After teaching 1000's of students, you realize that no student is ever the same. Everyone learns differently. Each student is inspired in a different way. Everyone has different strengths and weaknesses in a multitude of different area's. So weather you starting from scratch, perfecting a solo for new album, learn by ear, or only read music, I can tailor my teaching style and curriculum to you. :)

I take pride helping students of all ages achieve their music goals, whether it be to shred solos in front of a packed house or play intimate songs for close friends. When teaching young people (ages 7 to 18) I do everything I can to get them passionate about their instrument. There is no greater motivator than fascination. I get kids playing real songs within a few lessons. If a student can play along to their favorite Green Day song within a few weeks, they feel like they can do anything. I skip past the "Mary Had a Little Lamb" phase that puts off so many future rock stars and go straight to the real deal: strumming, solos, and songs. Bass Lessons Dave performs and teaches both double bass and electric. He is equally at home with both classical and jazz styles. Dave has both Bachelor of Music and Master of Music degrees in Double Bass Performance from the Juilliard School. Dave is currently a freelance bassist in the Twin Cities and teaches bass players of all ages/levels. He is a frequent coach for the Greater Twin Cities Youth Symphony bass sections and was the bass instructor at the 2013 and 2014 Lutheran Summer Music Academy & Festival.
