If you hire my as your instructor, (or your son’s instructor), you will find you or your son immersed in an exciting music environment! I focus my lessons on 5 core skills for my students: Coordination, Rhythms, Music Theory, Sight Reading and Styles & Interpretation. I will apply these concepts in a way that is very intuitively and dynamic, so you will find you or your son playing like a pro in no time!
I also understand that you or your son will develop and learn at unique pace, and in order to further develop your skills and make your learning process more enjoyable, I will treat you as my friend or buddy and not only as my student. This is because studies have demonstrated that people tend to learn more when they make a connection with their instructor. Therefore my goal will be to find your strengths and weaknesses, so I’d know how to successfully convey the right message so you or your son become a better drummer with each lesson.

Knowing at the age of 5 that music was my life, by being brought up surrounded by praise music and gospel, my early exposure to music helped me to find every Instrument and style just my thing! I wanted to play everything and learn all aspects of music. I started with singing in the children's choir and then developed into piano and music theory. At the age of 12 I began to learn classical guitar, and at 15 took on various styles like Flamenco, Jazz and Rock. I graduated from High School having played in the school band achieving recognition In national Institutions Like IAJE (International Association for Jazz Education) and state band finals. I was also composing from a very early age, and at 18 released my first album (self-titled) which can still be heard and purchased today through ...
As a drum instructor, I use a groove orientated approach to get the students deep in the pocket, I teach students how to sight read the Drum set Legend. I organize beats into 4 (four) main categories (classic rock, modern rock, hip-hop, and rap, as well as additional styles) while also breaking down each category into, a multitude of sub-styles. I stress the importance of developing a good hand technique, with snare drum rudiments, good hand and foot technique with drum set rudiments, and poly-rhythmic technique with poly-rhythmic rudiments. I believe drum lessons should not just be so tedious, so I usually assign a simple song or two to keep the students interest and allow creative process through improvisation, all the while providing different ride cymbal patterns to gain the ability to play along with any rhythm on the bass drum and snare.

I've been teaching Music for 5 plus years and my students have gone on to accomplish great things. My goal and challenge for every student is to teach them how to play, read and listen to music. This will enable them the ability to play any song and any style of music. I specialize in Jazz, R&B and Classical. Typically I learn my students leaning habits whether its hands on or visual and their attention span, so I can't effectively teach my students. I Can't wait to meet you!
I have acquired over five years of teaching experience, travel from ages 5 to 17 acting and playing music. In addition I am a full-time music teacher and spend my free time volunteering at a local high school teaching music. I love music and teaching, it is amazing to see the look on a student face when they learn something new and even better when they perform and stun the audience the joy that my students get makes me happy its confirmation of a job well done.
