Jennifer J. Frisco, TX

I've been teaching Piano for 5 years and my students have gone on to playing in recitals and doing multiple performances. Within the first few lessons, you'll be able to read music and learn fingering techniques and as time goes on you'll be able to play some of your favorite songs. I specialize in classical piano and chord reading, typically use the Alfred books. I love working with students of all ages and experience levels and I can't wait to meet you!

Jennifer is an excellent teacher. Her attention to detail and technique cannot be matched. She has the ability to pinpoint exactly what needs improvement, and she is able to re-train the bad habits you have. I've seen a huge improvement in my voice in just one year. Now, I'm singing with a larger range with a much more healthy sound. This is important because I want my voice to last. I highly recommend Jennifer.

Piano was my first love and I ended up minoring in it at OU. I love teaching piano to kids from 5 to 95 years old!

About Melissa

Hello! Melissa C. here and I can't wait to meet you! Here's a bit about me. I have a BFA in Musical Theater with a minor in piano from the University of Oklahoma. I also became a certified Montessori preschool teacher while living in NYC. I have performed in some great places such as Hershey PA, aboard the MS Maasdam cruise ship, Seoul South Korea, traveling tours and of course, good old NYC! I had the great fortune to be in the original cast of SCHOOLHOUSE ROCK LIVE! on Broadway as well as many other Off Broadway musicals such as the It Girl. Here in Dallas I perform in plays and musicals on a regular basis and I love it!! What gets me excited now is teaching kids, teens and people of all ages to sing or play the piano! Melissa has been beyond helpful and informative as an instructor. I've taken 3 lessons so far and I can say that I see a big difference in my singing in such a short amount of time. Before taking lessons, I thought I could only learn how to sing in my "head voice" (ex. Phantom of the Opera) but when I started taking lessons with Melissa, she helped me discover my "chest voice". It really amazed me on how much she can pull out of you!

I can also say that each time I take a lesson with her, I regain a higher amount of self confidence. I honestly couldn't have asked for a better instructor!

Thanks a million Melissa!

Ryan is so great with my 6 yr old son. He is very patient with him, and even though we are having our son learn piano for now, his ultimate goal is to learn the guitar. With Ryan knowing this about our son, he also allows him to strum the guitar every so often so that it reminds him how his piano lessons will ultimately pay off in the end. Ryan is super great with kids! I highly recommend him to anyone.

Ryan is an amazing Piano teacher! My son is 7 and requires a lot of patience and redirection, and Ryan is very good at keeping him on track. We had to switch teachers after the previous one was not a good fit for my son's strong personality. I highly recommend Ryan if your child is easily distracted and strong willed. :)
Aaron T. Little Elm, TX

This will be goal based, depending on the student's wishes. I can teach chord progression, classical technique, basic improvisation, hymn reading. Much of the piano course will center around improving sight-reading skills in the particular focus of the student.

My son always leaves with a smile

My son has a lot of confidence issues, but taking the lessons with Aaron has opened a whole new world of opportunity for him, and he always leaves his sessions encouraged with a smile. It's also great that he can play piano now beyond his own expectations. He is learning proper technique and theory as well.

Merilyn is fantastic!

I am an adult student of Marilyn's and played the piano for 10 years growing up. I came to Marilyn wanting to start playing again after not playing at all for 7 years. My experience has been wonderful and I am surprised at how quickly I'm picking it up again. This is mostly due to Marilyn's positive feedback and constructive instruction. She is laid back and easy to work with and my experience playing as an adult is much more enjoyable than when I was younger.

Sarah loves piano lessons with Tammye because she is calm, funny and very "laid-back" in how she approaches children and teaching the piano. These qualities are gradually drawing Sarah back to an instrument that she loved initially but had withdrawn from due to very strict and almost frightening former teachers. I am so happy to see her loving the piano again and looking forward to her practices with Tammye. Thank you, Tammye, for encouraging and realizing that learning an instrument is a marathon for some and not a sprint!

Why Learning Piano Theory is Important for All Musicians
Struggling to understand music theory? Try heading over to the piano -- seeing a visual representation can help a ton! Here, Lowell, IN teacher Blake C. shares how to get started...   Many musicians avoid learning music theory altogether because it can feel much like learning a foreign language; as a result, many musicians enlist in the anti-music theory organization. How to Transition from Classical Pianist to Jazz Pianist

3 Reasons Why Piano Players Should Also Learn the Organ
There are many reasons why a music student may find themselves learning to play piano on a keyboard rather than on a baby grand: cost, space, or simply lack of access, for example. Versatility on a range of keyboard instruments is also an extremely useful string for any pianist to have to their bow, and can lead to greater practice and public performance opportunities, and even excellent opportunities to earn a little money on the side. The organ, although not the most prevalent or popular musi
