Cory is an awesome teacher!

I've studied with Cory for 4 years now, and I just want everyone to know what a great teacher Cory is. I've not only developed immensely in my musical skill, but I've also noticed when I'm working with other musicians that my studies have really set me apart from my peers. Cory has an awesome recording studio with all the professional stuff you'd come to expect in a major studio, Protools HD, Logic 9, a great Mic Pre & Compressor, along with an awesome tube Mic for recording great vocals. I've known Cory for 14 years now, and he's a lot of fun to work with and learn from. I've also been to many of his gigs, and I can assure you he's an awesome performer. Glenn

Guitar
Cory taught my daughter to play guitar when no one else could!

Cory M is a multi-talented sweetheart of a man.
He’s been a great guitar teacher for my daughter, who has gained knowledge of sight reading and classical guitar while learning to play the folk/indie/classic rock she most enjoys. It’s to Cory’s credit that she’s stuck with these lessons through all the other activities she’s taken up and abandoned.
Cory is also a highly skilled performer and recording artist. I’ve enjoyed listening and dancing to his band playing old favorites and original compositions. He creates CDs of his music and records other artists in an impressive-looking home recording studio – and on top of all this, he’s a great cook and a kind-hearted, generous neighbor. We’re fortunate to have him as a member of our community.

Azuri M. Culver City, CA

We will study the classic motifs in music from composers such as Bach all the way to Andres Segovia, etc.

About Azuri

I Love music, and I love people. I feel that music is and has historically been a way of interpreting and expressing all the diversity in life and our experiences and that our instruments are our tool of expressing, whether it be the drum, guitar, piano, voice, sitar, etc. My inevitable goal here is to help you(student) obtain the technical, theoretical understanding to help you express your own message and story musically and or achieve any musical standard that one connects too and wishes too achieve. Teaching Philosophy - My teaching philosophy is really built on well rounded communication and multiple facets of explanation and examples so that a student can truly understand and learn a topic, surrounded in a very humorous, light and supportive environment. I feel that along with

Azuri is a fun teacher!

I love working with Azuri. He is patient and encourages me. Everytime I have a lesson he says something that opens my eyes. It usually just takes that one meaningful statement he says throughout the lesson for the time there to be worth it all. Moreover, he is a great teacher! It's very fun learning from him.

MY APPROACH:
I focus on four areas that I think are essential to being a good music teacher:

* the importance of proper technique and an understanding of music theory to build self-confidence;
* the development of musicianship through performance.

Patient and Caring

Our experience with Brian as piano teacher to our two children has been incredible. He has brought each of them along at their own pace and they have learned to play very well. Brian has always been patient and kind.
This has been particularly important with our (now) 8 year old son who is autistic. He can get easily distracted, frustrated, bored, or just plain ornery and uncooperative. Mr. Brian has always exhibited great patience toward him, taking breaks when necessary and generally bringing our son along at his own pace--and our son has shown remarkable progress.
We highly recommend Brian as a piano teacher.

Last year, I had the opportunity to study with Christian at CSU Northridge. Christian is one of the finest musicians I have come across in the years that I have been playing music. Not only does he have impressive skills with the guitar, he also has knowledge in the history of the guitar and music theory. When he was studying at CSUN, I was able to have some lessons with Christian on a baroque piece that was giving me trouble. First, I'd like to mention how patient he was with me when I was frustrated and lost in the music. Also, I was surprised at how much he knew about the music as he explained what was going on in the piece and why. Oh... did I mention that I had some AWESOME results after ONE lesson??? Do yourself the favor and check this guy out!

Christian has been teaching our two sons (Age 11 and 8) for the summer and has performed wonderfully as both instructor and motivator. His demeanor is excellent with the kids. And I greatly appreciate that he is teaching them music reading, music appreciation and music theory -- not just how to play the guitar. More importantly, the kids are having a great time.

About Joseph

Joseph R. has 5 years of experience teaching students elementary, middle school-aged children and adults on to how to play keyboard, guitar, flute and saxophone while sharing his learning experience with them as a self-taught saxophone and flute player and his more conventional education on piano and guitar. Joe started developing his musical talent through piano lessons at the age of 7. After only a year of formal study, he began to experiment with other instruments such as the bamboo flute, the guitar and the drums. When he moved to the United States at the age of 13, he was introduced to the school’s band where he chose to hone his skills with the flute. Since then, he has been exposed to classical and symphonic repertoire. During high school, he joined the marching band and at ...
