*** Lesson Details ***
Students can except a stress free learning process. After learning the basic symbols of music notation, breathing, and simple rhythms the students will continue learning the techniques and fingerings on their chosen instrument. After mastering these basic concepts in music the children will then be given a chance to perform their songs to an instrumental accompaniment. This is good for the student who does not play in an ensemble to have the opportunity to play and listen to other moving parts.

*** Specialties ***
music, bass guitar, bassoon, children's music, guitar, classical guitar, electric guitar, home recording, African drum, music theory, acoustic guitar, flute, oboe, trumpet, saxophone, tuba, songwriting, french horn, trombone, clarinet, recording school, piano
My "Fairweather" method utilizes maracas and rhythm guitar, played Simultaneously to produce a full ensemble effect.

I must say that Mr Daniel is doing a very good job. This was my third lesson, and he is not going through a set program but is teaching me where I'm at. So he is eliminating any waste time.
I will rate Mr. Daniel with 5 stars

*** Lesson Details ***
The goal of music lessons is not to just learn the notes and mechanics of an instrument, but to become a well-rounded MUSICIAN. With my lessons, we don't just go through a book page-by-page, rather, lessons are shaped around the musical tastes and interests of the student. Musical theory concepts are applied in actual songwriting and current popular songs. I accompany the students on various instruments, imitating a real performance situation. I teach all ages; beginners to advanced musicians.

Unlike a crowded music store with a cramped little room for lessons, my lessons are taught in a large, open, and well-lit home studio. There is an open waiting area where parents can listen as well. Parking is convenient on a cul-de-sac with a clear view into the teaching studio.

*** Studio Equipment ***
Nord Stage 2 88 piano,
Yamaha Custom saxophone with Theo Wanne, Meyer, and Selmer mouthpieces,
Dr. Z RxJr amplifier with 2x12 cabinet,

I've always wanted to learn to play the guitar but it's was a bit difficult finding the time or focus to learn. Rich was great! Full of patience, support, and talent. He always made me feel comfortable & accommodated my schedule. His patience & reassurance made me feel confident with my personal progress. Several times I arrived early & witnessed him instructing other adults & children of all ages. He's always professional & personal & I highly recommend him as an instructor.

I have been working with Rich for just over a year. I am clearly his oldest and only retired student. This was something I always wanted to do and I found Rick through Take Lessons. It has been a great fit as he is first and foremost a very talented musician. Next you have to be able to convey that knowledge and make it fit to many different learning styles. Rich picks up quickly on what I am getting and where I am struggling, and adjusts accordingly. Rich has been a pleasure to work with and I would highly recommend him to learners of all ages.

Quincy C.

Fayetteville, GA

Quincy Chapman is a Jazz saxophonist based in Atlanta, Georgia. His love of the saxophone began at the young age of 10 while growing up in Fayetteville, Georgia. He is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Arts degree from Valdosta State University. Currently, he has an active performance schedule as a member of the Valdosta State New Jazz Ensemble, The
Cookout Jazz Combo, and as a freelance musician throughout Atlanta Georgia.

About Quincy

I'm a Jazz loving college student that attends Valdosta state university majoring in Jazz music performance. I've played saxophone for 8 years starting on Alto then switching over to tenor. I consider
tenor saxophone my primary instrument. I've been lead tenor in my high schools jazz band for 3 years. In the past year (my high school senior year) I advanced to the second round of all state jazz with among the highest scores in the district. I just have a general love and passion for both my instrument and jazz. I would love to have the opportunity to pass on my knowledge and hopefully create a deeper appreciation for the saxophone.

Joseph B.

Smyrna, GA

I want lessons to be fun but also challenging and disciplined. I am very adamant about starting with a set of warm up exercises every day followed by scale work. But I also want the student to play what they want to play, so I will either ask them to find a piece to be approved by me or I will find a piece for them based on what they like and are looking for. Every student is different so I will treat them as such! I teach Soprano, Alto, Tenor and Bari saxophones.

About Joseph

Hi there! I just recently finished my Masters in Clarinet Performance from the University of Maryland and I would love to teach your student! I teach both clarinet and saxophone and have 5 years of te
aching experience. I have worked for the Richardson School of Music, FAME, and the SHARP program at William Wirt Middle School in Maryland as well as Cedar Shoals, East Jackson, Decatur, and other high schools in Georgia. I am also an avid learner and I believe that no two students should be treated or approached in the same way. I have been very fortunate to have so many great teachers in my life and I do my best to use everything they have taught me to help my students!

I received my Bachelor's of Music in Clarinet Performance from the University of Georgia and my Masters from the University of Maryland. Please feel free to visit my website at for recordings and more information about me!

Joe was a fantastic teacher for over a year and a half at the University of Maryland, College Park. I was able to continue my musical training with Joe after I had to drop down from a full performance degree to just a music minor, and always felt like I was being challenged and prepared for upcoming juries and performances. He was very flexible with my ever-changing schedule, and was very attentive to my personal needs in terms of focusing on specific audition music, or other repertoire that would help me in ways I felt I needed the most. I would highly recommend Joe as a teacher for any clarinet player- beginner or advanced, young or old!

Joe is a very patient and understanding teacher. He is able to convey what I need to do to improve my technique and musicality by giving me the exercises that challenge me and help me grow as a musician. He is a true professional and an excellent teacher. I highly recommend him for both kids and adults. He is down-to-earth and a true professional.
