I am a professional vocalist with a broad range of experience. With a Bachelor of Music (Musical Theater) from Belmont University I am more than qualified to teach with a well supported vocal foundation. As a true lover of music and arts, I encourage my students to sing as much as possible! My confident and exciting approach to singing brings out the best in my students, which translates beautifully to real life situations. *** Lesson Details *** Each person is different in nature and each performer has a personal style and goal. My goal is to get to know what kind of voice and style each student desires, and base the curriculum off of that knowledge. A basic lesson looks like this: 5 minutes of breathing exercises 10-25 minutes of vocal technique exercises (e.g. scales) ...
I have been taking the world by surprise since the age of 4. I began studying at Queens College at 6 years old and was a recital pianist by the age of 12. I was a consumer of music, from the Music Theory lessons on Saturdays, piano lessons on Thursdays and voice lessons on Saturday afternoons, my life was filled with music. It is to no one's surprise that I completed my first demo at the age of 13 and was performing for Queens Colleges audiences at 14. I went on the rank high in the NYSSMA series in both piano and voice. I also went on to study music in college and began touring with gospel troupes nationally. Since then I has done many workshops, Master Classes, tour dates, theatre shows etc. Too many to date. I am a sought after teacher for voice, piano and broadway singing. I train
I have been teaching classical voice technique for about 7 years. I have performed in numerous operas in French, German, English, and Italian. A solid foundation in vocal technique is essential if a student wants to sing opera, and that is what I teach.
I am a classical singer and pianist from Wisconsin! I started playing music at the age of three on the piano and began voice lessons at 15. While in graduate school in Las Vegas, I started teaching both voice and piano lessons and found how much I loved imparting my knowledge to others and watching them make progress. I have performed leading roles in Operas and soloed in orchestral concerts and recitals. I mainly perform opera/classical but love musical theatre as well. My performing experience has taught me a lot which I am eager to pass on to my students! I have been teaching with Takelessons since my move to NYC in 2011. *** Lesson Details *** As a teacher, I try to create a lesson environment that is relaxed and open but still efficient. I have specific requests for you

I teach all levels of voice from the ground up. At least half of the lesson is technical drills to help build strength and stamina on top of a solid vocal technique that will increase range and intonation. From there we will begin to incorporate the learned exercises into the repertoire that the student is preparing.

With opera voice, one experiences the ultimate in the "sport" of singing. This involves exploring the full range of one's instrument with the most glorious freedom and energetic connection. Opera singing blossoms from a completely organic coordination of breath and communication. I stress attention to honest, sincere dramatic interpretation (every bit as much as other forms of musical theater!) and joyous exploration of the lush musicality of this art form.
Every student is unique, and I tailor my lessons to best meet their individual needs. It is important to me that students learn through lessons that are insightful, interactive and fun! :) I began teaching in 1999 and have students of all ages and experience levels. Most recently a student of mine booked a contract for the national tour of "A Christmas Story!" In addition to being a voice and piano teacher, I am also a professional performing artist, singing on stages both in NYC and all over the world. I have a graduate degree in music from the Peabody Conservatory. My musical training began in 1982 and has encompassed voice, flute and piano. I am happy to discuss pricing packages and the possibility of having lessons in your own home, as well as any additional scheduling ...
