Christine J.

Tustin, CA

About Christine

Christine has been a professional in the theatre since 1992. She received her training from Boston Conservatory and New York University and has been a company member in Tony-award winning regional theatres.

Christine specializes in vocal production, has a three-octave range and is adept at various character voices, accents and musical styles. She has sung in several musicals, wedding and church bands, and has given several solo performances since her childhood.

Christine's personal developments are around creating new musicals, composition, songwriting and exploring fusion methods
in several musical styles including pop, jazz, rock, blues, neo-soul, new age, electronica, experimental and ethnic music.

Christine also plays piano, rhythm guitar and percussion, and has served as a director, soloist and accompanist for several churches and community efforts.

*** Lesson Details ***
Making music and singing should be fun, and everyone deserves to have a great experience with their instrument for the rest of their lives. I take pride in guiding my students in exploring their potential in a safe, creative and non-judgmental environment. My students will learn to develop courage and confidence, grow their ears and appreciation for music in all its forms, and expand their range, power and musical skills.

Your lessons will be tailored according to your goals, dreams and personal motivation. I will offer you resources and show you how to use research as way to become independent when preparing your lessons, auditions and performances. If you are an aspiring guitarist/songwriter, I will teach you the basics of playing the guitar and offer you fun techniques to build those callouses, play rhythmically with confidence and coordinate your playing with your singing.

Whether you are completely inexperienced, naturally gifted, shy, ambitious about a professional career or just looking for an outlet that feels good, I am here to help you. You will not only learn technical skills and many tricks for beating stage fright and crafting a performance, but you will also learn to share your unique personality on stage, and learn to perform with feeling, heart and honesty.

Everyone has something beautiful and wonderful to offer the world and I look forward to meeting you and discovering your special voice and sound!

*** Studio Equipment ***
My lessons are conducted in my home in an open living room area. I have a keyboard and a guitar. You must bring your own guitar (an acoustic or acoustic electric - sorry, I do not teach lessons with electric guitars) and, if you have "accompaniment" karaoke CDs (or mp3 on your phone or laptop) and/or sheet music that you have been working with, I encourage you to bring those. Parents must be accessible during the lesson and I will have a waiting area for them in my office. I encourage parents to be present for the first 2 lessons.

*** Travel Equipment ***
Home lessons are negotiable and I would bring a guitar and/or a percussive instrument. Your home must have a room where lessons can be conducted and it must be free from distractive noises and have enough space for exercises and instruments. It must also be in-view of the family and have an open door. It cannot be a bedroom. Siblings, friends of students and/or pets cannot be a distraction nor participate in the lesson. Group lessons are negotiable. :-)

*** Specialties ***
I specialize in singing, songwriting, voice, speech and acting. I also teach beginning lessons in guitar and piano. Other specializations: International Phonetic Alphabet, Accent Reduction, Musical Theatre, Classical Theatre (Shakespeare, Greeks), Movement Theatre (Mime, Period Movement, Stage Combat), Singing Styles (Jazz, Pop, Rock, Classical, Gospel, Musical Theatre, Sacred Chant).

Christine's passion & dedication for the love of music is the reason she's such an awesome teacher! She not only taught my 13 year old daughter guitar but she incorporated singing along with it which my daughter loved! Christine's wonderful personality and all her talents is the reason we chose her. I highly recommend her. She's gifted and we just love her!

George F.

Laguna Hills, CA

About George

We’re so glad you’re here!

Our music lessons for young children are full of fun, interactive activities with iPads apps and traditional methods that not only help develop a strong musical foundation and build essential life skills, but offer a unique bonding experience for you and your child.

Discover for yourself why families love our innovative music lessons for kids.

YES! Music Matters!

Our curriculum is built on research that proves MUSIC MATTERS. Music affects virtually every aspect of development and when young children are consistently engaged by music during the “musical wi
ndow” they benefit at many levels.

What about private lessons?

Do we believe in private lessons? You bet! But we know from experience that private lessons are most valuable for older kids who have the ability to concentrate in a one-to-one setting. Private teachers LOVE getting our graduates because our grads have a solid foundation in keyboard skills and music theory and typically excel quickly in their continued music education and when learning other instruments.The education and experiences a child has at our music program sets them up for success with private instruction.

Music Program

Builds spatial-temporal reasoning skills critical for greater success in math and science studies.

Music students out-perform non-music students on achievement tests in reading and math.

Music students receive more academic honors and awards than non-music students.

Develops social and emotional skills including the ability to relate to others and better express ideas, and less likely to have behavior/discipline problems.

I provide one or two recitals a year and work also with Charter schools:

Sky Mountain, Sage Oak & iLead.

George, was very patient, kind, and seem very knowledgeable. He seems to understand the pedagogy of teaching to kids and realize they all learn differently. I personally think he went above and beyond for my Son first class and for our first introduction. He offered a more modern approach method of teaching music and Piano to my son who so far seem more receptive in learning and practicing. Will se where that take us but I am very please so far.

Esther S.

Long Beach, CA

About Esther

Hi! My name is Esther, and I can't wait to meet you.

I have played piano since I was 4 years old and have taken lessons from wonderful teachers. They have given me a strong foundation in music, from theory to musicality. I learned warmups and scales to strengthen my technical skills but was also taught to play music expressively as well.

I participated in recitals and competitions year after year and completed the advanced level in Certificate of Merit as a senior in high school. My hope is that I can give all my students a solid foundation so that they can enjoy developing in pi
ano for many years to come.

Currently I also work as a speech-language pathology assistant, so I also have experience with children who have special needs.

I am:
// Classically trained
// Resourceful
// Patient
// Flexible and adaptable
// Dependable
// Sensitive to individual needs

Please send a message my way! If my current online availability schedule does not work for you, please don't hesitate to inquire and let me know what times do work for you! Learning to play the piano is a wonderful endeavor, and I would love to help you achieve your goals.

Studio Equipment: An unweighted keyboard in my living room, sustain pedal, and teaching material garnered through hours of research.

Inés F.

Newport Beach, CA

About Inés

I am from Spain. I have been in the states for the past three years. I love my language and I get very excited when people want to learn about it! I was a Aupair for two years for two different families. The kids where 4,6,11,12 and 14. One of my tasks as an Aupair was helping the kids with their homework and teach them Spanish.
I'm a positive and joyful person, very patient and respectful.
I love learning about cultures and places.

Ines is an excellent instructor. Her patience and ability to identify strategies to help progress my Spanish fluency are things that I found remarkle about her abilities as a tutor. I started off our lessons at the beginner level and now feel that I am at a level where I can comfortably maintain a conversation with a fellow Spanish speaker. Thanks for not giving up on me, and for forcing me to speak only Spanish, Ines!

We met through a mutual friend and clicked right away. Inés is an outgoing person, and always willing to help. I told her I loved the Spanish language and would love to learn the basics. She offered to help out. She was always very patient with my pronunciation, which made me feel better. She would say it as often as needed for me to get it. And I personally think that this is a must, when learning a different language. I would definitely recommend Inés for just anybody who wants to learn Spanish. Also young kids, cause they love her! She is just so very easy to love and have around!
Inés still helps me with my Spanish from time to time, but the fact that I live on the other side of the ocean, doesn't help much.
