Diedrich W. Minneapolis, MN

I teach in the way that is your best way of learning and with material that is inspiring to you. I make it easy and fun without dumbing things down. I'm a champion for you to accomplish what you want to and open up new possibilities that you hadn't known before.

About Diedrich

I hold a degree from Hamline University, but that doesn't make me a good teacher. I've played professionally for over 25 years, have taught English as a Second Language, Hockey and Audio Engineering, taught people age 5 to 75, and have taught private music lessons full time in Minneapolis for the past 9 years, but this doesn't make me a good teacher. What makes me a good teacher is that I have an infectious love of music and a passionate commitment to helping people. I do have specialties, like helping singer/songwriters develop their lyrics, arrangements, voice, and performance as well as helping artists get through creativity blocks, stage fright and preparing for studio recording. My experience as a producer, studio musician and audio engineer has allowed me to understand what an ...

I'm a middle aged guy with no musical experience. My wife got me lessons for Christmas. Dietrich got me playing the harmonica and I liked it so much I started on guitar. He is very patient and gives bite sized stuff to work on. He's the best!

Diedrich is an amazing vocal coach. I really enjoyed my time taking singing lessons with him. He made it fun to learn and he found ways to relate the teaching material to real life situations to make learning easier. He was able to help me become a better singer where I feel more confident in my sound and tone. I'll continue to use him in future lessons.

Diedrich was very patient and helpful. He tailored the lesson to my experience and what I was looking for. He had exercises and recordings to help me practice at home. I am looking forward to my next lesson.
Joe H. Inver Grove Heights, MN

About Joe

I began music in Winona, MN at age 9 with a pair of drumsticks and went on to become a world champion in 2003 with the Blue Stars drum and bugle corps. I do all things percussion and have been playing for 20 years but these days I do a lot more than just drums. My time spent studying Music Education at the University of North Texas expanded my musical horizons adding piano and guitar among other tools of the trade. The majority of my students these days are piano students young and old but I love teaching a variety of lessons including guitar and ukelele. I currently teach piano, drums, and guitar at a local music store in the Twin Cities. I also teach the Hastings drumline in the summer and fall and the Red Wing indoor drumline in the winter time. On a completely different ...

The Good, the Bad, & the Drummy

Joe is knowledgable in percussion and pretty flexible with instruction. He identifies strength areas and assigns appropriate work. He also showed me how to install drum heads and gave me some tricks on care and maintenance of my equipment. Of the three drum teachers I've had, I like Joe the best. I have been playing drums for 3 years and I am 12 years old.

Fun Teacher!

Joe is a patient teacher and a highly knowledgeable and gifted musician who makes learning the piano safe, fun and easy. B.F., age six, is reading notes and able to play a few songs on his own after only a few months of weekly sessions. In the words of that six-year-old, "Joe is funny and I like his games. He lets me talk about the weekends and Wii and he teaches me the piano." B.F. leaves his lessons smiling and wanting to come back to Joe to hang out and learn even more. We highly recommend Joe if you are looking for a caring and fun teacher who teaches in a positive manner, who gets results from the student, who lets the student pick their own music, and who helps the student have confidence and pride in their progressing musical accomplishments.

Aaron T. Saint Paul, MN

Guitar is my primary instrument and I have been playing it since 2001. I have a wide range of experience when it comes to genres and have studied under many different teachers and played in many different bands. I can teach many different playing styles on both electric and acoustic guitar.

About Aaron

Rick taught our 7-year old son for quite a few months, and did a fantastic job. We were pleased with his energy, enthusiasm, and ability to connect with young people.

We were sad when our son decided that he'd like to take a break from music and play more tennis, but hope that this, his first musical experience, will inspire him to return to it at some later point.

I highly recommend Rick.
