Hi, my name is Pierre. I have enjoyed the music business for more than 30 years. My music education includes studies at the Swiss Jazz School in Switzerland and the Berklee College of Music in Boston.
I have been a music coach in Switzerland, in Los Angeles, in Long Beach, and since 2009 in the Mission Viejo area. During the 2009 / 2010 school year I was a music coach for the Saddleback Valley Unified School District (SVUSD) in South Orange County. I have also been a member of numerous groups, including Original bands, Top40, Tribute, Recording and Performing bands. Please do not hesitate to ask for references!

Here is some information on what you can expect if you decide to take lessons with me:
You will start learning songs and play along with them within 3-5 lessons. After 3 months you will have knowledge of the basics. At the 6 month mark you will start to get
I always start with warm-up vocalizing. Then, we work on songs, depending on the student and type of voice, and always including music theory, the foundation. Each student is unique; so I customize the lessons and repertoire to suit each student.
First you find your voice, then you discover your style.
Finding your voice means learning how to operate it in an efficient and effective way, without affecting it with style from the outside.
First lessons have to do with learning about and coordinating releasing a free tone, breathing, supporting and understanding how your specific voice works.
Second lessons have to do with putting all of that together and expanding on it to produce pleasing and healthy sounds from top to bottom, bottom to the top, and every note in-between.
And, of course, along the way we apply all of that new knowledge, skill and training to songs.
Advanced students keep your technique in good shape, enhance your existing technique and further hone style and presentation.

Students can expect each lesson to include vocal exercises designed to teach and reinforce proper vocal techniques. Lessons will also include individual work on music/songs that are of interest to the student in which those learned techniques can be applied.
Students are expected to practice at least 15 minutes per day in order to show improvement.
I have been singing professionally for almost 18 years now, plus done quite a bit of vocal recording. My experiences range from choirs to bands to a capella singing in a series of different environments. I try to work with each person to explore their strengths, plus increase their discipline.
