I love to play, whether it's sitting behind a massive percussion rig in the pit of a show, laying down a beat on the kit for an ensemble of dancers or playing a clay drum in a duo at a little wine bar. It's all about having a good time and communicating through music with your peers and the audience. For 20+ years, I've taught in a variety of settings: in classrooms and one-on-one, to students from 1-50 years of age. I also have experience teaching students with developmental disabilities. I find the privilege of steering a student toward their musical goals extremely rewarding. I earned a Bachelor of Music degree in 1994 and I've never stopped learning, taking advantage of my professional relationships to study and play with with some of my idols. Over the past 18 years, I've had ...

I began studying music when I was 10, first in my elementary school and throughout high school and college. I have had amazing opportunities to perform with various musical groups across the country, most notably with the 204th Army Band. I also try to play out locally as much as I can. The two groups that I currently play for are the punk band "Omega Moo", and the indie rock band "The Requisite". In addition to these two groups, I also continue to play for the 204th Army Band, which allows me to tour a different part of the world each year. Other than performing, I am also dedicated to sharing and teaching other drummers to reach their musical goals. I teach privately out of my studio, located in North Seattle. *** Lesson Details *** I like to keep an open dialogue with my ...
