Having piano lessons when I was very young and trying to start again as an adult, He understood exactly where I was at, what I wanted to get out of our sessions and pushed me to learn and go forward with confidence, in a fun and relaxed way. Highly recommend lessons with Thomas.

Jillian V.

Harrison, NY

Learn piano the basics of accompaniment on the piano including chord changes, scales, and rhythmic patterns. Piano can often be an overwhelming instrument, but I approach teaching piano in a free, expressive, and functional way. No stress, no "have to's" just exploration of sounds through melodies, harmonies, and rhythms.

About Jillian

I have a Master's degree in Music Therapy, am a nationally board certified music therapist (MT-BC); performer and vocal instructor (Bachelor's in Classical Voice); certified yoga instructor and meditation guide (200+); certified and attuned Reiki master; professional freelance writer and editor.

...I find joy in a lot of places! And often I find these areas of study inform and augment each other.

Music therapy has afforded me a great deal of experience working with children, teens, and adults with special needs including, autism, Down's syndrome, cerebral palsy, emotional disturbances a
nd developmental delays as well as teens and adults with psychosocial issues, including but not limited to anxiety, depression, grief, ADHD, personality disorders, and more.

I incorporate my experience as a therapist into the educative setting.

As a voice teacher, I want to help my students settle comfortably into their own musicality by showing them the building blocks of a solid technique, drawing particularly from the things that helped me grow as a vocalist. I want my students to feel strong in their body, comfortable and relaxed in their breath, and confident in their performance.

I have worked professionally as an editor of scholarly writing on both the college and post-college level, as well as a professional editor of multiple dissertations, and other publications. Being a creative person, I find language to be a wonderful way to express thoughts and emotions as well as communicate deeply with others.

As a certified yoga instructor, I teach in many locations throughout Westchester. I was trained at Yoga Haven in Scarsdale, New York with Betsy Kase, and earned a 200-hour certificate in Asana, Pranayama, and Meditation. I offer private yoga instruction and meditation at my home studio. My studio comes fully equipped with all yoga props, aromatherapy, and music. Hands-on-assists and personalized classes offered to deepen your experience.

It is a joy to offer Reiki to curious, open clients in need of energy healing. Reiki is a noninvasive energy healing technique totally separate of any religious affiliation and available to anyone. It is a difficult to describe the relaxing, soothing, and deep-healing effects of Reiki to someone who has never experienced.

Please feel free to inquire about any of my services!

*Note: If you don't see a time slot that is suitable to your needs but would like to try a session or lesson with me, feel free to register for the Flex Plan, and we will work out week-to-week times!!**

**Note: If you are interested in music therapy, please email me with a bit about yourself and your personal goals.

David N

Elmont, NY

About David

I am a 20 year musician with 11 years teaching experience. Born and raised in New York City, I attended Laguardia high school for music and art and afterward Queens College majoring in music. My main instruments are Clarinet, Drums, and Saxophone, but i also have a strong background in Piano, Trumpet, and Flute. I've taken private music lessons for the past 15 years with world class musicians, among them David Weber and Howard Hirsch. I've performed in every major concert hall in New York City, including Carnegie Hall when i was only 11 years old. I performed alongside many famous musicians, i
ncluding the late Tito Puente.

*** Lesson Details ***
My teaching includes all aspects of music; Musical theory, sight singing, as well as Music History. My teaching style allows the child to have fun while they learn their instrument, but I emphasize a strong practice regiment. Your child will understand that while learning music and an instrument can be fun, there will be some work involved if they want to become great. I usually use either the Alfred or Rubank method books to supplement a curriculum that I tailor make for each individual student. Any question or confusion a student has about anything during the lesson will be explained in detail and dealt with until he/she understands the concept. I've had many students pass all levels of the ABRSM and NYSSMA exams as well as receive academic scholarships for musical excellence.

*** Studio Equipment ***
Lessons in the living room, drums set, piano,

*** Travel Equipment ***
I require that students buy the books I suggest, but if it is necessary, I can provide photocopies of pages from the books that I own. I also require my students to provide all writing equipment.

*** Specialties ***
all methods and styles. I've played clarinet and saxophone for orchestras, symphonic bands, and jazz bands. I've played drums for jazz, rock, and acoustic sets.

Daniel M.

Bethpage, NY

The Piano is one of my favorite instruments and a instrument I feel everyone should know. I have been playing the piano for over 5 years and I feel combined with my background in Music Education I can help deliver meaningful lessons that your child can grow with.

About Daniel

My name is Daniel, but you can call me Dan. I am currently a Music Teacher with Nassau Boces along with a Music Education graduate from Hofstra University. I was inspired to start studying privately on Saxophone when I was 9 years old. After that I have developed as a musician who can do it all. From composition to improvising, everything about music is appealing to me. I specialize in classical and jazz performance. I have performed with numerous groups on the Hofstra Campus. My most recent performances were with the Hofstra University Wind Ensemble, Symphonic Band, Big Band, and Chorus. I c
urrently am pursuing my graduate degree in Special and General Education. I have experience teaching students with special needs music as it is my primary job at Nassau Boces. My goal as a teacher is to help guide you to find your own sound and motivate yourself to keep playing and develop a love for music like I did.

*** Lesson Details ***
My lessons will help you become inspired and motivated to perform on your instrument. Above all, lessons will fun and engaging for students where they will develop a passion and love for what they do.

Each lesson will begin with fundamental warm ups geared to help build facilitation on your instrument. Repertoire will be discussed in lessons and will cater to your individual playing style. Proper technique and style will be stressed throughout each lesson. Each lesson will end by reflecting upon your progress and thoughts as a student.

As a private instrumental teacher I feel my responsibilities are to prepare students for NYSSMA, concerts, auditions, and band rehearsals.

My goal is for my students to become inspired. Through inspiration so much can be accomplished!

*** Studio Equipment ***
My studio is a living room with a music stand, tuner, metronome and music.

*** Travel Equipment ***
I can bring a music stand, tuner, metronome, and music but I would require students too obtain their own so they can practice efficiently.

*** Specialties ***
I currently specialize in classical and jazz performance. As a composer I specialize in studying scores and understanding the greats.

excellent, superb music tneacher. Patient, while firm, understanding while commanding respect, encouraging, I can not say enough good compliments about Daniel working with my 10 year old grandson. He is helping him learn a trumpet song, he has had trouble with, and needs to know by the school year. If anyone needs to contact me about him, I can give you a call. My highest recommendations … and this is from someone who had 15 years of piano lessons and has seen many teachers
