My teaching philosophy has been inspired by former teachers whose concepts have been very influential on my life as a musician and teacher. A teacher should lead by example. I believe core fundamentals should be addressed when a student is in his or her early stages of learning. These fundamentals are: sound, theory, scales and improvisation. All of these fundamentals are essential in the growth of a young musician and will set the student on a path to success.
*** Travel Equipment *** They should have their own horn *** Specialties *** I play alot of jazz, but i am also able to play funk, R&B, classical and latin music. I also have been very fortunate to study with such greats as: Greg Osby, Bill Pierce, Branford Marsalis, and many others. Throughout my time at Berklee I was given many hand outs on advanced approaches to music. I would love to share them with more people. I am very comfortable teaching beginners to advanced players.
Even though I have only been teaching saxophone for a couple years, I feel like I can make you reach your full potential. I have been playing sax for 13 years, and have studied many different styles of music. I have had the opportunity to take lessons from some very fine teachers, and I incorporate their styles into my own. I stress the fundamentals in my lessons, but also want to make sure students are playing music that they enjoy. I aim to help every student become musician they want to be.
