Great teacher. Teaching in steps and then adding more to it and repeating is the best way to go and Rufus is doing just that with me. All ready in 3rd lesson as a beginner and im getting the hand of it pretty quick. I will learn this song in no time and perhaps a few more just for the fun of it.

Terrific teacher and studio.
Rufus is an outstanding teacher. He is passionate about music and enthusiastic during lessons. He caters to a variety of learning styles, offering studio work and music tracks as well as traditional beats. Rufus has been a working musician for many, many years and provides real world experience and insight into the music industry. My son and I highly recommend him.

Matthew is a laid back instructor who really knows what he is teaching. I am learning Jazz on the bass and I enjoy it very much. In just a short time i learned more with him than I did with my previous instructor . Would recommend him to anyone wanting to learn jazz.

Best instructor I had so far.
Matt definitely knows his stuff. I had 4 classes with him and I'm shocked at the things I've learn with him. Great schedule flexibility and makes you feel comfortable from the time you meet him. Has a great and spacious place to teach compared to other I had. Hes willing to help anytime with questions. I decided to keep him as instructor for now on. Thanks!

I think he was to scared to teach my daughter. I also think he needs a better place to teach, and he needs to make the classes more fun for kids. Our first lesson wasn't a good experience.
Are you ready to start performing? Or perhaps you'd just like to play your instrument for your own enjoyment? Either way you have come to the right place. Studying with me will be both fun and challenging. I will have you making music immediately and also provide easy steps towards mastering your skills at any level. I specialize in ear training and music theory so you will be reading music and making music from what you hear. I have been teaching and performing for many years. The easiest way to put it is: "Do what I say, and you will have results." You will have an all around musical educat
ion that will be fun to share. Get ready to make some music!
*** Lesson Details *** My lessons are geared specifically to the student based on age, musical preference, and seriousness of performance level desired. I emphasize the theory based on the circle of fifths and the relationship of intervals and modes. I want my student to understand how music is made and why it sounds the way it does. My students will recognize sounds and modes and chords between different songs even if they are hearing them for the first time.
*** Studio Equipment *** The in-studio lessons are taught in the largest room in the house. The room includes a guitar, bass, 88 key weighted keyboard, and drum kits. Seating is available. No pets.
*** Travel Equipment *** Casio Privia Electric piano. 88 weighted keys. Fender Stratocaster electric guitar. Yamaha Bass. Tama Drums.
Able to teach hand percussion(Congas, Bongos, Djembe, etc.) to full drum kit. Also can teach drum notation. All genres. Full drum kit supplied when lessons are performed in teacher's studio.
Nicole began her musical journey in Long Island, New York when she began piano lessons at age five. While receiving training on piano, she joined her elementary school orchestra in the 3rd grade and quickly soared with violin. During this period, Nicole began learning music theory and the art of reading music. As a fourth grader, Nicole would go on to conduct and tune every instrument in her orchestra during rehearsal. She always competed and won many NYSMA competitions for violin while attending music seminars and workshops. It was then that her teacher realized she had a gift. Nicole c
ontinued with piano lessons and began teaching herself guitar. Later, after college, she bought herself a drum set and began to teach herself drums. As an adult, Nicole studied to become an elementary teacher and worked in the New York State School Districts for over five years. Shortly after receiving her masters degree for Literacy Education, Nicole decided to attempt to share her passion for music. In 2007, Nicole opened a music studio in Holbrook, New York. Here, she refined her music teaching skills while establishing Nicolex Inc. Music Island as a leading source of quality music education. Her summer traveling music program allowed her students to experience live performances as well as create music groups with peers with the same passion for music. Nicole now resides in Clearwater, Florida with hopes to spread her business as well as the joy of music to children and adults. She currently is the drummer for a local original rock band. In this band, Nicole writes songs, sings, plays piano, and drums (not all at the same time). Needless to say, she understands the importance that music has had in her life and wishes to ignite that passion in other music lovers.
*** Lesson Details *** My teaching style is best labeled as kind but firm. I take my job very seriously and want wholeheartedly for my students to have music as a part of their life, not just a part of their day. I love to laugh and have fun but I will definitely expect my students to practice and complete any homework I assign and be prepared for the following lesson. Simply stated, music is fun and the love of my life, but if I still practice, you will as well. Otherwise, I always believe in teaching songs my students are interested in and will expand their musical skills. My experience as a public school teacher had enhanced my sense of finding individual needs of every student. Therefore, I always differentiate lessons to suit my students interest while teaching them the foundations every musician needs in order to be successful. My specialty is teaching a variety of instruments. I play drums, guitar, bass, piano, and sing as well. So, if one instrument is not for you, I can teach you something different without a problem. Long story short, friends, you are in good hands.
*** Studio Equipment *** Full Service music room: Keyboard, drum kit, Acoustic/Electric Guitar, Electric Guitar with 30 watts Amp and Microphone/ vocal monitor.
*** Travel Equipment *** I can bring a 61 key Casio Keyboard for household to use for lessons for a small monthly rental fee. I have an acoustic/electric Spectrum Guitar with 30w amplifier. Can also bring microphone and monitor for vocal lessons.
*** Specialties *** I have taught mostly Rock, Blues, and Classical genres for Piano, Guitar, Drums. Vocally, I specialize in R&B, Broadway, Pop, Top 100 and alternative/Hard Rock. I will adapt to your needs.

He is an excellent teacher! Just because you play drums doesn't mean you can teach drums. My son has shown so much growth working with Glenn. He is truly a great teacher and I would highly recommend him to anyone.

Great Drum Instructor !!
Great Drum Instructor!! He has a true passion for teaching and identifies quickly with his students.
My son has been taking lessons from him since the age of 13 and he learned more in his first year than most kids learn through many years of instruction.
He is a personable, friendly and talented professional !! I would highly recommend him for anyone!

"Mike is an awesome teacher who takes interest in each student's personality and is able to customize the learning experience accordingly. My son is only
6 and yet he is making excellent progress and always enjoys his lessons. Mike makes sure there is always a personal connection and that makes the student comfortable and confident in playing music. He is always attentive to detail and is able to pinpoint what the student needs to work on and therefore there is always an improvement in technique. We were referred to him by a friend and are very happy with our decision to enroll our son. Highly recommended!"
Jeff is everything you'd want in a drum instructor: he is highly skilled, has thorough knowledge of dru
mming styles and technique, and he is an excellent communicator. On top of that he is thoughtful, polite and listens carefully. This is all a very, very rare combination.
I had to play a couple of slow gospel tunes for a church service this summer; Jeff very quickly found suitable and tasteful grooves for me that were within my capability to play. He also worked with me on some rudiments and provided invaluable feedback. I can't recommend him highly enough."

"I Got Lucky
A year and a half ago I decided to try to learn how to play an instrument, and chose drums. Learning how to also read and write music for dru
mming was high on my list. I also needed this to be a fun adventure with no real public performance goals for the first couple of years. It needed to be a stress reducer from the demands of the day job. Finding and working with RJ has been a total kick in the pants. I couldn't ask for a better coach. He hasn't let me get stuck in any one form, I'm learning all of them. It's hard! But I couldn't imagine not drumming now. It's very exciting, and I look forward to learning more over the coming years."

Ryan is an AMAZING teacher! He is funny, kind, and extremely perceptive. He is very good at finding different ways to explain the same concept.
He is out-of-this-world patient, and never gets frustrated, no matter how many mistakes I make (or don't practice). He is also really incredible at instilling confidence, and building up self esteem. He makes every one feel special, and is easy-going and flexible. The most importing thing about taking drum lessons from Ryan is you WILL be an amazing drummer if you take the time to learn from him!"

"Our son looks forward to lessons with Steve!
Steve is a great drum teacher! He has been working with my son for almost a year. He is very patient and has
a nice sense of humor (which is necessary when training kids).
He conducts a review with my son at the start of each session and offers words of encouragement throughout. After the lesson is over, Steve always confers with me and objectively reviews the lesson's achievements, parts to work on, and goals for next week. Our family recommends him for young and adult students!"

"Sam is terrific teacher. He's been working with our 8-year-old boy for just a short time, but in that time, our son has made amazing progress. Sam's le
ssons are well-structured, but he lets our son choose the songs he wants to learn. He also makes each lesson fun and is good at adapting if our son finds something easier or more challenging than expected. Sam is also really nice to work with-- professional, punctual, and courteous. We all highly recommend him."

"My son Jacob has taken drum lessons with Peter for several years. Peter has continuously challenged Jacob with difficult lessons and general rudiments w
hile also keeping him excited and interested in the pieces. Jacob comes home motivated to independently practice and eager for every next session. Jacob is active with his high school band, pep band and jazz band. Jacob has now twice qualified for Concert Band Snare with the Massachusetts Music Educators Central Districts which we can attest is due to the great instruction from Peter."
