Great teacher. Teaching in steps and then adding more to it and repeating is the best way to go and Rufus is doing just that with me. All ready in 3rd lesson as a beginner and im getting the hand of it pretty quick. I will learn this song in no time and perhaps a few more just for the fun of it.

Best instructor I had so far.
Matt definitely knows his stuff. I had 4 classes with him and I'm shocked at the things I've learn with him. Great schedule flexibility and makes you feel comfortable from the time you meet him. Has a great and spacious place to teach compared to other I had. Hes willing to help anytime with questions. I decided to keep him as instructor for now on. Thanks!
Are you ready to start performing? Or perhaps you'd just like to play your instrument for your own enjoyment? Either way you have come to the right place. Studying with me will be both fun and challenging. I will have you making music immediately and also provide easy steps towards mastering your skills at any level. I specialize in ear training and music theory so you will be reading music and making music from what you hear. I have been teaching and performing for many years. The easiest way to put it is: "Do what I say, and you will have results." You will have an all around musical educat
ion that will be fun to share. Get ready to make some music!
*** Lesson Details *** My lessons are geared specifically to the student based on age, musical preference, and seriousness of performance level desired. I emphasize the theory based on the circle of fifths and the relationship of intervals and modes. I want my student to understand how music is made and why it sounds the way it does. My students will recognize sounds and modes and chords between different songs even if they are hearing them for the first time.
*** Studio Equipment *** The in-studio lessons are taught in the largest room in the house. The room includes a guitar, bass, 88 key weighted keyboard, and drum kits. Seating is available. No pets.
*** Travel Equipment *** Casio Privia Electric piano. 88 weighted keys. Fender Stratocaster electric guitar. Yamaha Bass. Tama Drums.
Able to teach hand percussion(Congas, Bongos, Djembe, etc.) to full drum kit. Also can teach drum notation. All genres. Full drum kit supplied when lessons are performed in teacher's studio.
Nicole began her musical journey in Long Island, New York when she began piano lessons at age five. While receiving training on piano, she joined her elementary school orchestra in the 3rd grade and quickly soared with violin. During this period, Nicole began learning music theory and the art of reading music. As a fourth grader, Nicole would go on to conduct and tune every instrument in her orchestra during rehearsal. She always competed and won many NYSMA competitions for violin while attending music seminars and workshops. It was then that her teacher realized she had a gift. Nicole c
ontinued with piano lessons and began teaching herself guitar. Later, after college, she bought herself a drum set and began to teach herself drums. As an adult, Nicole studied to become an elementary teacher and worked in the New York State School Districts for over five years. Shortly after receiving her masters degree for Literacy Education, Nicole decided to attempt to share her passion for music. In 2007, Nicole opened a music studio in Holbrook, New York. Here, she refined her music teaching skills while establishing Nicolex Inc. Music Island as a leading source of quality music education. Her summer traveling music program allowed her students to experience live performances as well as create music groups with peers with the same passion for music. Nicole now resides in Clearwater, Florida with hopes to spread her business as well as the joy of music to children and adults. She currently is the drummer for a local original rock band. In this band, Nicole writes songs, sings, plays piano, and drums (not all at the same time). Needless to say, she understands the importance that music has had in her life and wishes to ignite that passion in other music lovers.
*** Lesson Details *** My teaching style is best labeled as kind but firm. I take my job very seriously and want wholeheartedly for my students to have music as a part of their life, not just a part of their day. I love to laugh and have fun but I will definitely expect my students to practice and complete any homework I assign and be prepared for the following lesson. Simply stated, music is fun and the love of my life, but if I still practice, you will as well. Otherwise, I always believe in teaching songs my students are interested in and will expand their musical skills. My experience as a public school teacher had enhanced my sense of finding individual needs of every student. Therefore, I always differentiate lessons to suit my students interest while teaching them the foundations every musician needs in order to be successful. My specialty is teaching a variety of instruments. I play drums, guitar, bass, piano, and sing as well. So, if one instrument is not for you, I can teach you something different without a problem. Long story short, friends, you are in good hands.
*** Studio Equipment *** Full Service music room: Keyboard, Full drum kit, Electric Guitar with 30 watts Amp and Microphone/ vocal monitor.
*** Travel Equipment *** I can bring a 61 key Casio Keyboard for household to use for lessons for a small monthly rental fee. I have an Epiphone Electric Guitar with 30w amplifier. Can also bring microphone and monitor for vocal lessons.
*** Specialties *** I have taught mostly Rock, Blues, and Classical genres for Piano, Guitar, Drums. Vocally, I specialize in R&B, Broadway, Pop, Top 100 and alternative/Hard Rock. I will adapt to your needs.

He is an excellent teacher! Just because you play drums doesn't mean you can teach drums. My son has shown so much growth working with Glenn. He is truly a great teacher and I would highly recommend him to anyone.

Great Drum Instructor !!
Great Drum Instructor!! He has a true passion for teaching and identifies quickly with his students.
My son has been taking lessons from him since the age of 13 and he learned more in his first year than most kids learn through many years of instruction.

"Great drummer, great teacher, geat performer!
I have had the privilege to perform with Derrick many times in many different venues, performing many diffe
rent styles of music. Derrick is a professional who understands the role that drums and percussion play in creating an outstanding ensemble performance. He approaches each performance with musicality, not just drumming. Derrick also possesses the ability to articulate what he has learned and can demonstrate his techniques in a way that is easy to understand. When I perform with Derrick, I always come away with something new to try on my own."

"Matt is a true professional!
Matt teaches my 10 year old on drums and has done an amazing job. He has instilled the basics and foundation of drumming
while still holding the interest of my son. At the same time he is developing his ear and teaching him how to play and adapt to different styles of music.
I highly recommend Matt for all ages of drumming kids and adults alike."

"Brian's experience and passion for drumming become apparent during the first lesson. He is a talented musician and a wonderful teacher, adjusting the pac
e of each lesson to match your needs and your level of skill. His ability to play numerous styles makes him an ideal teacher for those up and coming drummers who don't want to get locked into playing one particular type of music. I've been playing drums for as long as Brian has, but even with all of my experience he has still helped me branch out and incorporate new techniques into my repertoire. Whether you are a beginner, looking to learn the basics, or an experienced drummer, looking to hone your skills in a particular area, Brian is a great teacher to turn to!"

"Keith is not only incredibly knowledgeable about drumming and music in general, but he is also fun. He has a great sense of humor, so if you're a beginner
like I am, you will immediately feel at ease the second you walk in the door of his studio. He also has some really good stories from the days he spent on the road as a successful professional drummer. I highly recommend him to anyone--beginners, experts, and everyone in between."

"Hi My name is Iris and my son learns the drums with Carmen. My son has been learning with Carmen for 7 years (since he was 6 years old) and he enjoys ev
ery moment with her. She is a gentle teacher and always has patience for young children. She is very talented and her drumming skills are amazing. Also, she always listens to her students choice of music, because she knows every type. While teaching her students the song of their choice, she goes over every detail and part of the song, to ensure that they have had the best learning experience. I can tell my son has learned a lot from Carmen, because when he tried out for his school band, he got in and they were very impressed with his drumming skills. Carmen is the best music teacher, that I have seen teaching in a long time.
