Gavin L.

San Rafael, CA

About Gavin

Hello there! I'm Gavin and I've been a teacher, school counselor and educational consultant. I'm also a musician and songwriter, so I connect well with artistic types! I hold a B.A. in Education from
The Evergreen State College and a M.A in Counseling from SSU. My credentials are active and current. I consider myself a hybrid and am a good fit for students who need academic and personal advising. I take immense pride in not only guiding students, but inspiring them to being their best selves. A lot of this has to do with being willing to "fail forward" - a more flexible way of learning not just in school, but out there in the world. We're at our best when we learn from being "unsuccessful". Lastly, I love the art of writing and if you struggle in that area, I'm your man. Let me help you find not only your voice, but confidence! When not working, I enjoy time with family and friends, writing songs & music, film, TV, sports, and getting out in nature, especially visits to the coast.

Ashley B.

Napa, CA

About Ashley

Ashley B. found yoga in 2009 as a former dancer. She enjoyed the physical practice similar to dance, but discovered something deeper that nourished her soul. In 2013, Ashley found The Studio in Washin
gton, DC as her safe haven amongst the busy city. Ashley fell in love with the practice and knew she wanted to share it with others, so she completed the 200-hour teacher training at The Studio DC in 2014.

Studying with master teachers Bryan Kest and Govind Das, Ashley has learned to honor the body and cultivate consciousness through tools like breathing techniques that helped her garner self-awareness. To Ashley, yoga is a source of joy that spreads throughout all aspects of her life from physical health, to personal relationships, and her working career. Ashley strives to continue learning and challenging herself through physical asanas in addition to looking inward to share the healing practice with others.

We process everything upstairs, allowing it all to accumulate to form our point of view, which in turn fuels our decisions, reactions, and movements down to our toes.
