I have taught piano both privately and in groups for over five years and have had over one hundred piano students. I strongly believe that piano is a fundamental instrument for any musical endeavor, and students can be successful any age. Studies have shown exceptional benefits from playing the piano including having higher test scores, the ability to focus, and emotional benefits of patience, higher order thinking skills and reduced stress. I structure my lessons to emphasize warm-ups/scales, variety of repertoire and soloistic playing while incorporating music theory into every step. Most importantly, I make piano approachable and fun while ensuring that students achieve success and understanding of the piano.
I've been teaching piano for 5 years and my students have gone on to play in recitals, talent shows and pass college music exams. Within the first few lessons, you'll be able to play well-known songs and as time goes on you'll be able to longer songs. I specialize in popular music, typically use the Faber Piano Adventure series books, and have the following tools available for your lessons: iPad, Yamaha 61-key piano as well as a Casio Celviano piano. I love working with students of all ages and experience levels and I can't wait to meet you!
Hi! I am a singer, songwriter, producer and yogi, and share my passion in music as a vehicle for inspiration, motivation and creative drive in others. I began singing at the age of eight and studied classical opera and musical theater in my youth. I discovered my knack for R&B and soul in high school and received my A.A.S. in Vocal Performance from McNally-Smith College of Music in 2005.
I have recorded and co-produced five albums and have self-produced four music videos. When not touring and recording, I am teaching yoga, building costumes and offering skills to various communities nationwide.
