Janet B. Indianapolis, IN

I've been teaching both piano and voice for almost 40 years. I taught elementary vocal/general/choral music in our local public school system for 32 years. I added teaching privately about 10 years later. I work with students ages 3 and up for piano, and ages 8 and up for voice. I welcome students of all levels of experience from the earliest beginner to the most advanced. The lessons are largely focused on technique, theory, and developing skills, and can be adapted to incorporate each students goals. I encourage my students to perform in various talent shows, and other avenues as they become available. We have a Recital every May, and all students are guided through the development of their selected music to take it from the beginning stages to having it ready to perform.

I have taught piano students from as young as 5 years old up to a wonderful lady who was a grandmother many times over, and voice students from 10 years old up to adults. I have taught students of all ability levels, from the most basic beginner to very advanced performers. I welcome you to come to my home studio. I have both a Bachelor of Science degree and a Master of Arts degree in Music from the University of Indianapolis. I retired in 2009 from teaching in the Indianapolis area public schools after 32 years of teaching elementary vocal/general/choral music. As a student taking lessons with me, I will ...

Knowledgeable, Encouraging, Experienced

I came to her studio with no singing experience whatsoever. I was a little nervous to start singing in front of people, especially since I thought my voice had dried up for lack of use. But I felt totally comfortable from the very first lesson and I soon looked forward to singing every week!

After only a few short weeks with her guidance I have increased my range by a perfect fourth up and a major second down! My vocal control has greatly improved and now I KNOW I can sing confidently. Definitely recommend this instructor.
Todd L. Cicero, IN

Beginner through advanced piano lessons taught. Students will travel through a series of method books supplemented with books of music with music the student appreciates.

About Todd

Music is my life, and is something that I want to share with others! Because of that, I try my best to give positive experiences to all of my students. I have a byline that says "Music is Much More than Just Learning Notes." I believe that! Anyone can learn notes, fingerings, etc. What I try to do is add that "soul" element that each person has and cultivate that into meaningful music! So, with all that said, here's what I try to instill: A lesson is a place to share! I listen to students as well as teach. We all have something we can learn from each other! While I want lessons to be fun and informative, I strive for complete understanding, which means any student will gain the needed mechanics with complete knowledge of why things happen and what they do to ...

Easy and convenient to use.

My son has taken voice and then piano from Todd for about two years. Todd has proven to be patient, flexible and enthusiastic about my sons thoughts, ideas and interests. He has developed a very encouraging relationship with his student and my son feels comfortable speaking honestly and openly with him. Todd is gifted at his craft and has a true teachers heart.

I'm not setting the world on fire but then I've only had three lessons, and I've had some personal issues. Todd has shown patience with me and no doubt he is aptly qualified as an instructor in a variety of ways.

I've been teaching piano for 25 years. I started playing piano at the age of 6 and have played for many different denominations of churches, weddings and provided dinner music. I have accompanied many diversified singing ensembles throughout my piano career and taught general music at a public elementary school.

My students range in many ages and experience levels. Some are as young as 7 years old while others are adults with their own families. College students have studied piano with me to go on and pass their entrance exams or placement tests.

My pedagogy includes Nancy and Randall Faber’s Piano Adventures series, Alfred’s Basic Piano Library and Alfred’s Premier Piano Course. My piano studio is equipped with a Casio Celviano, Yamaha 61-keyboard, Music Ace Maestro software, and iPad. Music styles taught include classical, children’s music, Christian music, pop, show tunes, ballad and gospel/jazz.

My Grand Daughter has been taking piano from Linda for over a year & she absolutely loves it! She has learned so much and always looks forward to going to her lesson. Linda is very professional and at the same time makes learning fun. Her location is convenient to get to from about anywhere on the south side of Indy. She organizes a yearly recital, which makes it nice for the students to experience performing in front of an audience. I would recommend Linda to anyone who would love to learn piano from a great teacher.

Excellent teacher

I happened to find Linda through an internet search, and I am so pleased that we did. She is excellent with my 11 year old daughter. My daughter is always excited to go to her lesson each week. She has only been taking lessons for 5-6 months, but I can see much improvement, and I can see the difficulty of the songs increase. I think my favorite part is that Linda is so patient and encouraging. Each week, after the lesson, Linda comes out and tells me how good my daughter is doing, and she tells me a little about what the next lesson is. Even when I know my daughter hasn't put in the effort she could have, Linda is always supportive and encouraging. Sometimes people are just in the right place at the right time, and I feel we were very fortunate to find Linda when we did.

My experience with Raginae includes a summer of having my 2 grandchildren study their first lessons with her and they loved her and her approach. Unfortunately, on their return home their teacher was not of the same high quality.

I am an older student with minimal coordination and have progressed far further than I ever dreamed possible as I started from scratch at age 72. One of the factors in my continued progress is that Raginae can always find something I have done which can be addressed in a constructive manner rather than a critical, withering manner. I have come to class at times thinking what is the use, I can never get anywhere with this and by the time I go home I will have a more positive outlook and clear goals within my abilities. Consequently, my next lesson will be rewarding.

As I have lived a very long time I also like to meander through all kinds of music and odd musical questions arise. Raginae deals with them seamlessly. I recommend her very highly.

I have been taking lessons with Raginae for about 9 years now. Without a doubt, she is the best piano teacher out there and I wouldn't have gotten to where I am now without her guidance. She is very competent and technical, but she leaves the music choice to you so you can progress in whatever genre you prefer. _
