I've been teaching broadway singing for 12 years and my students have gone on to receive scholarship money from colleges and entrances to performance high schools. Within the first few lessons, you'll be able to grasp foundational singing and breathing technique and as time goes on you'll be able to start adding to your repertoire. I specialize in audition preparation/creating shows/building repertoire, typically use opera books, and have the following tools available for your lessons: composition book and a pen/pencil. I love working with students of all ages and experience levels and I can't wait to meet you!
I have been taking the world by surprise since the age of 4. I began studying at Queens College at 6 years old and was a recital pianist by the age of 12. I was a consumer of music, from the Music Theory lessons on Saturdays, piano lessons on Thursdays and voice lessons on Saturday afternoons, my life was filled with music. It is to no one's surprise that I completed my first demo at the age of 13 and was performing for Queens Colleges audiences at 14. I went on the rank high in the NYSSMA series in both piano and voice. I also went on to study music in college and began touring with gospel troupes nationally. Since then I has done many workshops, Master Classes, tour dates, theatre shows etc. Too many to date. I am a sought after teacher for voice, piano and broadway singing. I train
I completed my Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance with a certificate in Music in Education from the New England Conservatory of music and completed a Master of Music in Opera Performance from the University of Maryland Opera Studio. I have performed in places such as the historic Jordan Hall, Avery Fischer Hall, Carnegie Hall, The Cornerstone Arts Center, the Academy of Music in Philadelphia, the Clarice Smith Performing Arts Center and the National Gallery of Art. I serve on the music teaching staff of both Highbridge Voices and the National Children's chorus in addition to maintaining an active private teaching studio and a busy international performing schedule.
I've performed with well-known Broadway stars such as Kelli O'Hara and Jessie Mueller, and I LOVE teaching this style! From the classic to the contemporary, we aim for dramatic integrity paired with "effortless" singing, flowing seemlessly from speech to song.
Every student is unique, and I tailor my lessons to best meet their individual needs. It is important to me that students learn through lessons that are insightful, interactive and fun! :) I began teaching in 1999 and have students of all ages and experience levels. Most recently a student of mine booked a contract for the national tour of "A Christmas Story!" In addition to being a voice and piano teacher, I am also a professional performing artist, singing on stages both in NYC and all over the world. I have a graduate degree in music from the Peabody Conservatory. My musical training began in 1982 and has encompassed voice, flute and piano. I am happy to discuss pricing packages and the possibility of having lessons in your own home, as well as any additional scheduling ...
I teach proper singing technique, so you will learn how to belt while maintaining great breath support to save your vocal chords! I also specialize in theater and will assist for audition help, acting and singing at the same time, vocal inflection, etc.
I absolutely love working with students to instill and encourage confidence and the joy of music. I graduated from school with a degree in Vocal Performance & Theater Performance. Not only have I performed in numerous musicals and stage productions, I've been able to sing solo, and in both small and large ensembles in nearly every state in the US and all over the world (including Austria, Germany, Canada, and Costa Rica). I have since moved on from performing because I love sharing my passion and enthusiasm for voice with my students! I have been teaching voice since my senior year of high school. After some pedagogy training in college, I moved on to teach several students out of my home studio in Baltimore and now in New York. I incorporate aspects of classical and contemporary music to
I've been teaching in NYC for four years with students of all different levels, from people who struggle to match pitch to those pursuing careers in music. In addition to teaching, I am a working operatic soprano in New York City.
The classical technique I teach incorporates consistent breath management and consistent, pure vowels. Getting the voice set up as freely as possible allows my students to sing in a wide variety of styles, from opera to rock.
After performing Musical Theater for 15 years, I can help you approach the variety of styles now required on Broadway. We will work together to create a free sound that is individual to you in a fun environment.
Can't wait to meet you!
I'm a professional singer and a passionate teacher of voice and beginning piano. I have been singing since I was five, and studying voice since age 14, going on to complete a Bachelor's and Master's Degree in Voice Performance. The classical technique I teach gives my students the tools to sing in a variety of styles, whether opera, broadway, pop, or rock.
