I gave my first singing lesson when I was 14 years old. It was then that I knew that I wanted to teach voice lessons. Growing up performing on stage, I fell in love with music. As I got older I knew I wanted to instill this same passion to others. If you do the exercises and techniques I teach you, you will continue to see improvement and you will be amazed at how your voice can develop.
Every person will start out with basics if they are a beginner: Diaphragmatic breathing (support), resonance (tone), and pitch. We will pick songs that you enjoy singing that is in your range, but I will also pick songs to challenge you to be better. If you don't know songs that would suite your voice, I will pick them for you based on your tone and range. Once we get the basics down we will begin to go into more advanced techniques such as vocal fry, controlling vibrato, and much more. I teach all styles of music and all ages.
Hello everyone! I've been singing since the age of 3 and performing since the age of 6. I am not only an experienced music teacher with a passion for music and teaching, but an experienced performer, and songwriter. I started performing at a young age with the Columbia School of Theatrical Arts, and as I grew older I studied different techniques such as speech level singing, classical, and even techniques from Brett Manning, one of the most amazing vocal coaches today who teaches artists such as Haley Williams from Paramore. I have experience performing many styles of music, and also was a voice major in college. The students I teach will benefit from my contemporary techniques, and can learn to sing in almost any style of music they choose. *** Lesson Details *** Do you want to learn ...
Whether you are trying to find your true voice, brush up your vocal chords or just getting started, singing is my passion and I would love to help.
Private classes allow each person to learn at their pace. I love working with all ages of students, kids through adults. Each one bringing their experiences and love of learning. *** Lesson Details *** I believe anyone can learn to play the piano or sing, but you must enjoy what you are doing. Once you have a basic knowledge of the instrument/notes you will be able to start choosing music that you enjoy playing/singing. *** Studio Equipment *** I use a Roland Digital Piano to teach my lessons. I use programs on the computer to reinforce musical concepts learned. *** Specialties *** I like to use a variety of methods to teach depending on my students likes and abilities.
I have 30 years of teaching experience and have enjoyed a successful singing, teaching and conducting career in the US and Australia. I have excellent piano skills and can sight-read and play most piano accompaniments for my voice students. No two students are alike so I teach everyone according to their needs and their learning style. I have an exceptional understanding of the voice and communicate using tangible imagery to produce excellent results. I work with all levels of singers from beginners to career level in Broadway, Pop and Classical styles. Beyond university training, I have had training from teachers and coaches from the Metropolitan Opera, Houston Grand Opera, Arizona Opera and many others. With piano, again, technique is important but lessons must be FUN! I like using ...
I have been a musician all my life -- started learning the piano at age 3. I am classically trained, was going to be a concert pianist, but then when I became 18, I realized that I wanted to explore other genres of music. I have played big band jazz, was in a professional original rock band and played on the stage with many famous rock musicians, have played with many different bands in almost every style of music (including hip hop), and am an accomplished studio musician as well. I love music, period. I also am a percussionist and vocal coach. I also can teach church musicians to play "outside the hymnal." (I have played in almost every kind of church, including gospel) *** Lesson Details *** I am very laid back, I use a variety of curriculums and methods, depending on what is ...
Singing basics: breath, phonation, range, repertoire
Welcome to Studio C! I graduated with honors from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, earning a Master of Music in Voice Performance. I also hold a Bachelor of Music from Arizona State University. An emerging opera singer myself, I sing with Arizona Opera in Phoenix and Tucson. I am available for private voice lessons serving the Phoenix metro area in historic Central Phoenix. Students learn to let go of inhibitions, release tensions, find a natural voice, and let that voice grow. Studying both classical and music theater repertoire and techniques, students develop effective breathing, a supported tone, and an agile voice suitable for any genre of singing. Motivated students who have a musical background are most successful in my studio. I'm pretty down to earth and strive ...
