Learn how to get your music production up to snuff with some lessons from a seasoned music producer!
My name is Ryan and I have been involved in music for over 15 years now. After graduating from Berklee College of Music in 2010, I moved to Seattle to pursue my career in music. While there I taught lessons, performed in musicals, performed at weddings/events, and played with my rock band all over the country. Now I'm home in NJ and ready to continue with that same trend!
I love and respect every type of music there is but I have always excelled and found myself happiest in the broad genre of Rock. Some of the bands that have influenced me in music and that I still listen to t
o this day are: Blink 182, Yellowcard, The Red Hot Chili Peppers, Green Day, No Doubt, Metallica, and such hard rock acts as Periphery, A Day To Remember, and many others.
It is hard to get a good gauge on who I am as a person through a website so please feel free to call or message me for more information or, of course, book a lesson!

Jeff is a seasoned instructor in guitar, songwriting, music performance and music business. He also offers lessons in public speaking, voice-over performance and ukulele. He welcomes students of all ages and experience and has successfully and happily taught beginners to pro-level musicians and recording artists. Jeff is pleased to announce that he is currently accepting Takelessons online students via Skype.
Jeff can teach guitar and songwriting in all styles and is an adept acoustic and electric guitarist. His knowledge of chords is extensive and his acoustic fingerpicking skills ar
e formidable. Jeff structures all lessons around the individual goals and playing level of his students. Jeff's students tend to study with him for quite some time, as his wealth of knowledge, diversity of instruction and patience are extraordinary. Jeff prides himself on customizing every student's lessons based on their particular preferences, goals and skill level. "It's a very personalized kind of instruction, as I never take a cookie-cutter approach to teaching…". Jeff's 3 promises to all students is to give them personalized lessons, be attentive to their needs and goals. and to make them feel like every lesson is worth their investment of time and money. As long as students practice regularly, they can expect to dramatically increase their clarity of playing, their chord "inventory", their musical ear and awareness and play the songs they've always wanted to learn.
After honing his craft as a songwriter and performer, Jeff created and taught songwriting and music business classes at colleges, universities, and music schools throughout the country for many years. Some of the places he taught include UCLA Extension, Santa Monica College, Pasadena City College and The Harrison School Of Music. When asked to summarize his views on teaching and music: "Teaching and playing music always puts a smile on my face; especially when I see that the student is having fun, learning what they want to learn and feeling the passion about music that motivated me to pursue my own musical career".
As a working singer/songwriter/guitarist, Jeff is known for his memorable melodies, intelligently crafted lyrics and heartfelt vocals. His compositions have earned him over 35 awards from various national and international songwriting contests and he's a former staff songwriter for the long-standing New York City-based publisher, Bourne Music. He has also won best music video awards at 3 international film festivals.
Some of the artists that Jeff has been compared to as a guitarist and vocalist include Keb' Mo', James Taylor, Kenny Loggins, Ry Cooder, John Mayer, Bill Withers, Jim Croce, and Don Henley.
Jeff is a NJ native, but lived and performed in Los Angeles for many years, where he worked in the studio or shared the stage with well-known artists such as Dave Koz, Norman Brown, John Daversa, Hiroshima, Little Richard and N'Dea Davenport.
Jeff catalog of over 450 songs and compositions spans virtually every genre, but many of his tunes are amalgams of pop, blues, jazz, R&B, country and rock. Quite a number of Jeff's songs have appeared in film and TV. One that Jeff is particularly proud of, is the dynamic pop ballad, "Journey Of The Heart" (co-written by Jeanne Smith), which was licensed by the N.C.A.A. (National Collegiate Athletic Association), who deemed it "the official anthem" of their NCAA Hall Of Champions facility in Indianapolis.
Jeff has commercially released 4 CD's of his original material: The most recent of these is his 2013 release, "Blujanova" (a merging of blues, jazz and bossa nova), which was praised by platinum selling and Grammy-nominated jazz star, Dave Koz: "Jeff's voice is so clean and pure...the production is lovely...warm and inviting...I love the interesting and surprising takes on some classics too, especially 'I Feel Good'…that brought a smile to my face!". The other CD's stretch into other genres. "Truthteller" (bluesy pop/rock and singer/songwriter material) "Me, Myself, and I" (acoustic) and "The Spin" (pop, rock, and country-tinged singer/songwriter material). All of Jeff's albums are on his label, Relevant Records. The late great John Braheny, author of the best-selling "The Craft And Business Of Songwriting (Writer's Digest Books), gave high praise to Jeff's CD, "The Spin", calling it "honest, crafty, melodic and the songs are all exceptional". Patch.com called Jeff "a consummate songwriter".
*** Lesson Details *** At the first lesson, I will ask you to tell me what songs you want to play and artists you want to play like and I will set the table for that by providing the chords you'll need, chord and scales and exercises to enable you to play them and guidelines and tricks on how to make it happen as quickly as possible. I know a wide variety of songs in all styles and styles, including current hit songs as well as pop, rock, blues, jazz, country songs. if you have a song or artist that I don't know already, I will learn it (often on the spot) and if not right then, at the next lesson. I have taught my students to play songs by artists as varied as Taylor Swift, U2, Jason Mraz, Adele, Eric Clapton, Django Reinhardt, Doc Watson. And that's just naming a few.
I always make it clear to my students at the first lesson: "There is no such thing as a stupid question". I want you to feel comfortable to stop me at any time to clarify what I am teaching you, ESPECIALLY if it is too difficult or vague. I pride myself on always being organized for your lesson and making sure that you grasp whatever it is I am teaching you. The goal is to get you to be able to play what you want as quickly as possible. This will take practice and dedication on your part, but I will do everything in my power to help you get there.
I never force anything on any of my students. but I feel it would be beneficial for you to learn to read music OR read tablature and chord diagrams. You tell me which one and we'll go in that direction. If you'd like to read music, then we can decide on a book for you. I have used Hal Leonard instructional books (with CD's! this way you can play with a backing track and get a sense of rhythm, which is very important), but I'm open to other method books you might have or like.
After 3 to 6 months, you will feel you are significantly more skilled on the guitar than you were before we started lessons. You will know more chords (and move from chord to chord), be able to do at least some basic fingerpicking and be able to read some music or tablature.
*** Specialties *** Acoustic fingerstyle guitar (a la James Taylor, John Mayer, Eric Clapton, Keb' Mo', Jason Mraz, John Martyn, Jim Croce, etc.

Songwriting (any aspect and any level; musically, lyrically, structurally, etc.)

Adapting songs that are keyboard-based and creating arrangements of them for acoustic guitar. Examples include songs by Adele, songs by Elton John, Irina Menzel's huge hit song from "Frozen", John Legend's "All Of Me", Coldplay's "Viva La Vida", etc.

Jeff is an excellent teacher. He asks what you want and who you want to be as a guitarist. I feel so very comfortable talking to him and asking any questions that I may have. I understand why he is a student favorite. I started guitar not knowing anything and has learned so much. I don't ever get bored at anything he says. He has a great sense of humor. He always makes me laugh and cracks jokes that always crack me up. You can tell that he definitely loves what he does. He always say to ask any questions and writes down anything that you may have trouble with. Jeff is very knowledgable and laid back. I would highly recommend him to anyone.

Jeff is an outstanding teacher.
I started taking guitar lessons with him since November 2012, for more than 2 years now. I was an absolute beginner with the guitar, and Jeff taught me the basics of the guitar amazingly and helped me build a strong guitar core. Jeff lets you stay a few extra minutes after the class ends, if you are "in the zone" or if you are just finishing up the lesson. He also gives great advice on the type of guitar you would be best off buying. Jeff also tells you when you need to change the strings and gives advice on fixing up the guitar should it have a problem. Also, Jeff teaches you any song you want. The genre doesn't matter - Jeff will help you master any song you wish to learn. One of the most important thing about Jeff is that he is always looking to find ways to make playing guitar easier and make it sound better. He gives little tips that greatly help you, in both playing chords or songs. He is also very patient and will always answer your questions, so don't be afraid to ask anything. Jeff also supplements his lessons with the Hal Leonard book, to help you learn how to read and play written music and he also explains what all the symbols mean.
I would highly recommend Jeff to anyone who wants to learn the guitar as he goes to great lengths to help his students in any way possible.

King, and many local groups Vince wrote two instructional books one for guitar and vocal and is currently writing a book he
also plans to record more music.
*** Lesson Details *** Through my methods of teaching a student could excel, learn, and become an accomplish musician at any age. I work within the age group that is, to teach in the level of that student instead of above them.I have help students to get into bands and become songwriters. I show students how to practice within 15 minutes and become productive in ideas and have fun in the process all ages could have fun. I am one of those individuals who love to teach music and my reward is when you learn and feel good about your studies in the instrument so my last words to conclude in all of this is “have fun and enjoy the beauty of music.”
I am emphatic about learning music I cover all the grounds in music such as theory the basics to harmony and my favorite songwriting and get you to play what you like I have worked with all ages and the one thing I know in the beginning is to make that student feel comfortable and to get the attention from that student so they can learn, play, and most importantly have fun with it. I show students time management in their studies how to practice in such a little time I plan each lesson and if the lesson is not right for that day I quickly go into a second plan. I can always detect if the plan does not go well because there is one thing a teacher must know and that is to teach in the level of the student and not beyond so they can succeed properly and move on to the next level.
*** Studio Equipment *** Private teaching studio in a finished basement a whole drum kit, 3 keyboards, has several guitars and a bass for students to use at his home, microphones for voice and plenty of music stands
*** Specialties *** Teaching bands how to write songs and record as well as instructions on instruments

Vince has shown patience and professionalism since the first day I started.
He answers questions fully and allow the lessons to flow at a pace that works for me.
His lessons stay on point and we don't proceed unless I have a grasp of the technique or principle.
I recommend him for prospective students of all ages.

I've had a few guitar instructors through out my life and Chris was by far the best one Iâve had. I went to him after taking guitar for a couple years with other instructors and he helped me rediscover my love for it. Heâs motivating, smart, and all around a great instructor. Iâd recommend him to anyone--from beginners to even more advanced guitarists. He really is the best!

Chris was instrumental in me rediscovering my love of guitar through performance. For the band that was assembled we were allowed to pick the songs which made us more motivated as well as making it fun. Chris was excellent at determining your strengths and challenging you. I had never played lead guitar before. Now I expect to be the lead guitarist for the band.

Chris is a man's man.
I took lessons with Chris for probably a year and a half, maybe two years. He was easily one of the greatest teachers I've ever had. He would let me pick the songs I wanted to learn and then, despite his feelings toward the music, would listen intently to the song, figure out everything about how it's played, and then decide the most appropriate way to go about teaching said song according to what he knew I was and wasn't capable of. He always pushed me to do better and if I couldn't get passed a certain part we would work on it until I nailed it. Not to mention he's a really cool dude so there was never a dull moment. I can't recommend him enough.
I am the owner of a Professional Class A Recording Studio, and have been working in & out of Studios for 40 years. My goal is to help you establish a strong foundation and understand of the Recording process. I want to help you have a clear perspective on how to think when you're approaching Recording, whether it's a Vocal, Guitar or even a Harmonica, it's a combination of experience, fore site & an overview of what you want that individual instrument to sound like, along with the Bigger picture of how the whole project will sound as a finished Product..It's important to understand the conditions you're working in, or under because that also can be a factor in the whole process as well.
I'm a trained Musician (Private Lessons) and have been Studying & Teaching for over 40 years. I've taught, Recorded & Played everywhere from small to Large venues from NJ, NY to CA and back. So you don"t just get the Lesson, You also get all that culture and experience along with it in every Lesson you take. I Guarantee you"ll learn more studying with me in one year, then with anyone else around. I Pride myself in giving my student 100% my undivided attention in every Lesson. I do all my Lessons in my Class A Recording Studio (which I incorporate into the Lessons) so you not only get a Great L
essons but you'll also get the experience of working and being recorded in a Professional Recording Studio. I do offer Lessons through Skype as well if for some reason it's more convenient for you. You will learn a lot in a very short period of time, but you will also have a lot fun doing it as well. For The person interested in learning Guitar I'll teach you to Understand that you'll Develop Correctly, and Much Faster By always practicing on the Acoustic Guitar, and then if you'd like to go and play or perform on the Electric Guitar, you'll be 100% Better as a Musician then if you just played only on the Electric Guitar. That is a Key element to what all the Professionals Musicians like myself do. I Own and Operate my own Music School which you can find online. I also will give the Names & Phone Number of my Students as a Reference if you'd like to call them and ask them about their experience taking lessons from me. I Look forward to working with you to Help you attain the goals you set out to achieve.

I've been Marc's student since last September and I couldn't be more pleased.
He's kind, witty and extremely gifted; his expertise far ou
tpaces the usual level of ability in most schools. I would send my kids to him with utter joy, if I had them. Anyone who hires Marc is getting something very special; not only is he certified in Europe, he has forgotten more music than I'm ever likely to know. He's a brilliant composer, drummer, vibes player, pianist, engineer and producer, and yes, I've seen him or heard him do all of the above. It takes extreme talent to write the songs he's written *and* play all the parts *and* record them all, and he does that. On top of all that, he loves to teach. He takes great joy in music, and in sharing it with enthusiastic students.
Congratulations to anyone lucky enough to hire Marc Wagnon!"
