I have been playing guitar for 30 years. I grew up a rock player but also studied jazz and classical. My strength as a teacher is that I understand each student is different. I am able to easily adapt to a student's needs and desires, all the while implementing the necessary discipline in order for them to achieve their goals.
I started playing guitar seriously at the age of 12 and have been a guitar teacher for 22 years. My first influences were rock and metal. In my later teens, I became very interested in other music genres such as jazz, fusion and classical. I began my formal music education as a Classical Guitar performance major, ultimately obtaining a Masters Degree in Music Composition from the Queens College Aaron Copland School of Music. The road I have taken with music has been paved with many unexpected twists and turns.
