Math is one of my favorite subjects! I have been tutoring Math since college. I offer many years of experience tutoring basic math, pre-algebra, algebra 1 and 2. I have worked with all educational levels from elementary school (3rd or 4th grade) through college and adult learning. I have been teaching Math for over 40 years. I specialize in intermediate and advanced level Math subjects. Highschool Math (Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry,), Advanced level (AP Calculus. College Calculus I/II/III), University level (Linear Algebra, Differential Equations, Abstract Algebra). Lessons are tailored to the needs/goals of each student. With today's Math Common Core State Standards there is a greater focus for a deeper understanding of concepts than previous state standards. In essence, students are required to apply critical thinking skills, accurately calculating problems, truly understanding the concepts--not just memorizing answers, and accurately selecting the best mathematical approach to solve problems, while demonstrating why the approach they've selected is appropriate. Of importance is understanding how the common core standards (exemplified as new standards) improve students’ math skills to succeed at higher levels.

I have 10 years of math tutoring experience, which have helped my students achieve top scores on standardized exams. I stress understanding over memorizing formulas to ensure my students can appreciate/enjoy math and apply it to any quantitative career (engineering/data analytics/research). My rates is for a one-off session, so it is extremely negotiable if we work together regularly.
