Alexandra P. Princeton, NJ

A broader, more generalized way of saying that I teach a variety of singing techniques: classical, musical theater, pop, folk, etc. My main interest is to help YOU with what you're interested in however I can.

About Alexandra

I am interested in teaching private lessons to each individual student - taking into account your goals, strengths, weaknesses, and background. I will never teach by a method that does not account for the unique qualities of each student. I use what I have learned through many years of musical study to teach you in the most efficient and beneficial way, based on YOUR needs. As a voice student, I will ask you about your taste in music, what your goals are as a singer, and encourage you to suggest repertoire you'd like to learn. In addition, I will do an assessment of your entire voice - from posture and breathing to articulation and expression - and introduce repertoire that will help you become a better singer. I am comfortable teaching pieces written in English, Latin, French, ...

great teacher

I've never taken voice lessons before, so I didn't know what to expect. But Allie is great, very likeable. She really takes your preferences into considerations. We do breathing exercises, vocal warmups, and work on several songs at a time. I love the range of songs Allie has me work on: an Italian classical piece, a French pop song, a Broadway piece, a jazz piece, etc.

Dominic M. Middlesex, NJ

About Dominic

Dominic M., America’s Tenor, has been singing in one form or another since the age of four. As a young man, Dominic began honing his skills of singing and acting through Community Theater. His voice and career were forever changed when vocal coach and mentor, Suzanne Ferris-Hammer introduced him to the great voice of Mario Lanza. From the moment Dominic heard the voice of Mario Lanza, he began to fashion his own voice in that image. Dominic continued to expand his career by developing his own show, which includes the songs of Mario Lanza in their original keys. These shows were held in some of the finest NYC Cabarets such as Don’t Tell Mama, Duplex Café, Danny’s Skylight Café, Café 44, and Eighty Eights. He has also performed these shows at The New Palace of the Performing Arts of New

Rosemary C. Matawan, NJ

I have 30 years experience teaching singing of every genre of music except for the opera! Jazz/pop/rock/musical theater....
My method is innovative and results in quickly getting students to sing their best. Coming from a pro music background, I provide career guidance and opportunities for singers to perform in front of audiences. My former students are signed artists, rock stars and singers who have appeared on Broadway, as well as winners of competitions, i.e. Idol shows.

About Rosemary

I have 30 yrs teaching experience PLUS the added expertise of being a performing pro singer! My students are signed recording artists AND people just starting out. I have taught in colleges and privately with an emphasis on pop/jazz/blues/rock/musical theater singing. I teach in such a way that students have told me they learn more in one lesson with me than in years of study somewhere else! You will not do needless voice exercises. We will use songs you like as teaching tools, giving you the opportunity to also expand your repertoire. My lessons are interesting and fun! Taking lessons from someone who has been and is a real actively performing teacher makes all the difference in how well and how quickly you will get your act together! :-)

Acoustic Guitar · In studio
I have been taking lessons with Jimmy for 3 months now and have learned so much in that time. I was excited to learn the acoustic guitar, but a bit nervous since I have never taken any type of musical lesson or have ever had any success with learning an instrument. Jimmy's patience and fun personality put me at ease right away. I am an elementary teacher of over 20 years, so I could tell that I had made the right choice in coming to Jimmy for lessons. Jimmy takes the time to teach music theory, which I appreciate, and answers any questions that have. He is a very dedicated musician whose experience and knowledge become apparent as he teaches his students, and when you view his studio. He is very reliable, always getting back to me quickly when I correspond with him. If I have had to change lesson days due to weather or family commitments, he is always understanding and flexible. I highly recommend him to other perspective students and look forward to growing as a musician with him as my teacher!

Just Sing! As a performer myself, I know how challenging it can be to get out of your head, stop thinking and let loose. I am here to challenge your instincts and develop your own fully energized, open and supported sound. We will explore topics like body alignment, tension, breath coordination, and registration to expand your versatility and stamina as a singer.

About Zach

As a teaching artist, my goal is to reinforce a healthy structure to your voice while expanding your capacities as an actor and performer by letting the complete singing actor emerge. I wish for my work in the studio to be accessible even when you are practicing on your own. I hope to empower each student to become self-sufficient on a personal level, understanding that each individual grows from different methods to find that perfect balance of artistic and technical instruction. I recently spent the summer in Pittsburgh performing in four Pittsburgh CLO shows appearing as The Production Tenor in Singin’ in the Rain and Garvin in Footloose. Before this, I spent my previous two summers performing at MT Wichita and Connecticut Repertory Theatre, all of which has taught me what it takes
