Susan T. Grand Prairie, TX

We will learn vocal health care, anatomy of the breathing apparatus (how sound is formed and released from the body), proper breathing technique and exercises, warm-ups for tongue, lips and vowels, diction, pitch control exercises if necessary, find your range, then onto learning your favorite songs or genres.

I prefer to teach combination piano/voice, or guitar/voice, those students that wish to sing and accompany themselves with an instrument.

Lastly: Please come to me with long term goals of learning to sing, or enhancing your natural-born singing voice. Through my years of experience teaching voice, I have found many students come to me with delusions of grandeur - to attain fame from American Idol, The Voice or other types of entertainment shows. Please come to me because you love to sing and have, perhaps, professional goals and aspirations. It is a learning process, just like any instrument, and doesn't occur overnight, or after taking just four or five lessons.

About Susan B.

I would first like to say that I was born into a musical family. My Dad (choir director) and five older brothers were not only the majority of the choir in our large Catholic church, but Dad had a "tame" Frank Sinatra singing style. My mother played harmonica and piano by ear so acquiring musical intellects spread quickly to all of us. Most of my siblings sang and played instruments as we had a piano, guitar, organ, harmonica, trumpet, clarinet and a recorder to use as we pleased, with or without a music teacher. I started singing and playing the piano at age four. With consistent encouragement from my oldest sister (a professional organist for 40+ years), I learned piano and music theory while I was learning to read English, started guitar at eight. A natural born singer, I ...

We love Ms Taylor! My son (6) started piano on his 5th birthday and a year later he is still excited and can't wait for his lessons with Ms Taylor. He wants to practice and is always so excited when he finishes a song. He loves showing off to his friends and family, playing songs on the piano. Admittedly, when we started piano, I wasn't expecting much, as my son was a typical 5 year old boy, who likes to wiggle and loses focus quickly; however, Ms Taylor is caring, patient and very knowledgeable and works great with children, and my son is really enjoying his piano lessons and has asked to take on guitar lessons as well in the future. Great teacher and experience!

excellent piano teacher

Susan Taylor is an excellent piano teacher. We are very, very happy with the lessons she has given us. She has that much desired quality of being flexible and understanding, not pushing the student too hard, and yet expecting the student to "perfect" her short pieces, so that she is playing beautifully right from the start. I highly recommend Ms. Taylor to anyone, adult or child, who is interested in learning to play the piano.

Amazing

Ms. Taylor is a wonderful teacher. She is very patient, caring and understanding. I am very shy and have anxiety problems but she does her best to help me to relax and not feel so shy. She is very knowledgable and helpful. You couldn't ask for a better instructor.
Ben H. Euless, TX

I'm in a country band where I sing and play guitar.

About Ben

Hello, my name is Ben and GUITAR IS MY BUSINESS...AND MY BUSINESS IS GOOD so please consider me. I've been playing guitar for over 18 years and have been in playing bands for 12 years. Recently after the band broke up, I decided to further my education and went to Musicians Institute in Hollywood California. There I was taught by the best guitar players in the world. Marty Friedman, Paul Gilbert, Scott Henderson, Tommy Emmanuel and Johnny Hiland were just a few of the great players who gave clinics there. I received a degree in Guitar Performance and the knowledge I received there made me UNDERSTAND the mystery that is the guitar. I can teach Rock/Metal, Country (lead and rhythm), Blues, Alternative, Acoustic, Classical, Chord Melody, Melodic Soloing, Twang, Chords, Scales,

Ben is very knowledgable of music and the guitar

Ben was always punctual, he made the lessons not only very comprehensive but also fun. My son always looked forward to his lessons. He has learned a lot and we are going to get him a new guitar because he has tried so hard.

Focus is on improving style, range, agility, flexibility and protecting your voice.

About Carol

On singing and performing: I've been a musician for a very long time and can testify that music heals on a mind, body, and soul level! Though my official performances in front of audiences started with playing woodwind instruments such as clarinet, sax, and flute from elementary school through high school in band, my primary instrument in earnest has been voice for the past 27 years. However, my Mom told me that I have actually been singing--well, humming (a recognizable tune at that!)-- since I was nine months old. I've lead numerous solos in small ensembles and large choirs over the years, and was very involved not only with the adult music ministry at my church, but directed the children's choir as well. I'm a huge fan of arranging and creating harmonies for duets, trios, and small ...

Carol is a wonderful voice teacher. She is easygoing and patient. I have been taking weekly lessons with her since June of 2014 and have increased in my range. I now attend every other week.

I am a mezzo-soprano but used to always sing in alto range, but now I am more comfortable singing in my range or sometimes higher. Also, I am already naturally talented but needed some guidance in knowing when to breath through phrases, increased range, and holding notes long enough to make it sound more beautifully.

She has helped me a lot. I truly recommend her for beginners or those of you who are already talented and just need to tweak things up a bit. She's amazing. I enjoy her as a teacher. Thank you Carol!

Billy H. Arlington, TX

With beginners I work on a few basics and get them started in a solid direction. For intermediates I help them with their weaknesses and help them find them selves - their style - their voice - their sound - who they are.

About Billy

I teach my students how to understand how music is put together so they can learn even more on their own. I read, write, and play all styles and I focus on teaching the student fundamentals that work in all styles of music ....AND I get them going on the style they are interested in - pop, rock, country, folk, etc. I have spent my entire life in the music industry and I can show you how to use what I teach to apply to the real world. I have also been a successful songwriter and I can work with students to learn about song structure and song writing. I am also good at preparing students for college music classes. *** Lesson Details *** I like to break it down into small steps and accomplish them, then move on to the next. Each person learns differently and I am good at ...
