I focus equally on fundamentals, tone production, proper air support, intonation and technique.
I have been teaching private lessons for close to 10 years and have been an active performer for even longer, playing in all different types of groups, from rock bands and jazz groups to orchestras and brass bands. I studied music at Frostburg State University (Bachelors) and the Peabody Conservatory (Masters). I can teach just about any age and skill level and cover anything you are interested in learning; whether its a certain style, genre, technique or song.

*** Travel Equipment ***
Will provide sheet music and exercises. My students should have a working instrument as well as any method book or sheet music we are working on.

This is the first lesson I got to listen to of my son working with Nathan. Usually I'm not home from work. I am really impressed with how much he was able to help my son improve so quickly. I wish we had started this much sooner.

My son enjoys his music lessons with Jonathan, who is infinitely patient teaching what can be a challenging instrument. My son responds well to Jonathan's instruction, and he appreciates having access to a professional performer as a teacher. Jonathan encourages my son to learn a variety of music, including both challenging classical pieces and more recognizable popular and jazz pieces, which helps to sustain his interest in the lessons.

Hello! Thank you for your interest in my profile. I teach piano, horn, trumpet, theory & ear training, and coach ensembles, performance class as well as music and movement class for ages 0-6, and drum circle and cultural literacy for adults.
I am a graduate of the Curtis Institute of Music, and I've played all over the world. I've played with soloists from Frank Sinatra to Diana Ross, Frankie Valli and the 4 Seasons to Luciano Pavarotti and Placido Domingo. I still perform and consider this important to my teaching as well.
Some major accomplishments include an invitation to the White House, over 50 solo performances with orchestras starting with The Philadelphia Orchestra at age 15, a performance for the Princess of Thailand, and early television performances starting at age 7. In order to accomplish these things, I had great teach
ers, a regimen of discipline and practice, an expectation I have of my students, and all the rewards that have lasted a lifetime. Properly taught music lessons are life lessons and are never a waste. I incorporate fun into the lessons as discipline and fun must be combined for success and enjoyment at all levels.
My teachers included Eleanor Sokoloff, Susan Starr, and Dale Clevenger.
I've taught for 29 years, and have a proven track record of success. I've taught at Universities including The University of Notre Dame, The University of Tennessee, The Chinese University and the Academy of Performing Arts in Hong Kong. I adore my students. Each one needs to be assessed and taught differently. Something you cannot learn in school, only through years of experience!
I teach in Avondale-Kennet Square-Chaddsford, Hockessin-Wilmington,, DE, Newark, DE, with possibility of travel 10 minutes away. Please note: If you want in home piano lessons, you need a working instrument, and must maintain the tuning.
While I had previous experience playing an instrument MANY years ago, I never played the piano and started taking lessons with Lori as an adult. In almost no time I was able to read the bass clef (left hand) notes and within the year I had learned all the scales (majors and relative minors - both harmonic and melodic) and arpeggios (root and inversions). I was also playing "real" pieces of music.
Lori stresses good technique and good practice habits and can suggest more than one way to master a concept. She also makes learning the piano fun.

She taught me some important techniques on the piano.
All levels and ages welcome! Whether you are playing your first notes or you are preparing for a career, I would love to help you with your horn playing. I definitely emphasize technique and believe that strong fundamentals in breath control, articulation, and dynamic range are so incredibly helpful for the production of the gorgeous sound we all know and love in the Horn. My lessons differ greatly from student to student and I will work with you on any aspect of horn playing you would like to learn and improve.
Hello! My name is Bethany. I have been studying horn for almost 20 years and have been teaching for almost 10. I am currently located in Simi Valley, CA, a little valley located next to THE Valley, quite close to most of Los Angeles. I teach online lessons and local lessons in Ventura and Los Angeles County.
About Me | Teaching Method As a teacher, I find the most joy in seeing technical improvement translate into artistic freedom and musicality. I also just love sharing my nerdy love for the horn with young musicians!
I tailor lessons and take time to understand each student's pace of learning and playing style. I typically write out customized warm ups for each of my students that highlight aspects of horn playing that promote flexibility and teach music theory. I use etudes in not only a way that promotes technique, but also i
n a way that inspires creativity, giving a student freedom to experiment with musicality and composition. Students are welcome to bring me any ensemble, solo, or audition music they wish to work on.
Lesson Details | Private Horn Lessons Local Lessons: I will drive to you! The only required equipment is 2 chairs and 1 stand. A piano/keyboard is preferred for music theory and ear training aspects of horn playing but not necessary.
Online Lessons: I use Skype mostly; I can of course use any method of video chat that you prefer.
My daughter is enjoying her lessons! Bethany has been patient and encouraging with my daughter being brand new to the instrument.

Bethany is a wonderful instructor! She is consistently caring and insightful, and has appropriately high expectations--which push her students to improve. She was able to help me wisely choose music that would be both challenging and rewarding. I highly recommend her, and I had a great experience taking lessons from her.

Phillip was on time and professional, introduced himself and coordinated with us appropriately. His first lesson made our twelve-year-old feel comfortable and she really got a kick out of when he asked her what she thought SHE needed to work on. He did a wonderful job expressing her creative outlet and was very comfortable in the mechanics of the French horne. Would recommend any time!
I have been teaching for over 5 years and love working with horn players of all levels. I realize that each student is unique and always approach individual lessons with my student's particular goals in mind. I have a basic curriculum that I use in order to build a solid musical foundation for my students, but I am open to working on whatever kind of music or repertoire that they may enjoy. I love being able to expand my students' knowledge and appreciation of the world of music. It is always exciting to me when a student achieves a goal they habe set or learns a new skill that helps them in their musical expression.
I am a freelance horn player with a passion for teaching both horn and piano. I have a Bachelor's of Music from The University of Arizona and a Master's of Music from California State University Long Beach.
I have been teaching privately and in group settings for over 5 years and really enjoy getting to pass on the knowledge and musicianship that I have received from my teachers on to the next generation.
I teach using a base curriculum but also love to work on pieces that students want to play outside of their main course.
"I received horn lessons from Bethany when I was a music minor at UCSB. Bethany was a wonderful teacher and helped me prepare for various recitals. She was
always incredibly patient and had a knack for explaining complex techniques in an understandable and clear way. She broke everything down in a way that really worked for me and helped me improve. I always left her lessons knowing how to tackle my practice sessions in an efficient way."
"Thank you Ms. Beckie! You are awesome!"
"Mr Davis has been great! He’s very patient, encouraging and helpful!"
"I go to school with Xin and she is a very dedicated player with a beautiful sound. She is very knowledgeable of horn playing mechanics and will make an am
"My son has been taking lessons from Mr. Gallo for this entire school year. He started out not even knowing how to hold the horn or buzz on the mouthpiece.
Mr. Gallo has been instrumental in teaching him this year. Yes, my son was in band, but he really needed the extra instruction to be successful with such a hard instrument. What I appreciate about Mr. Gallo's teaching style is he is very encouraging and he is very clear about establishing a good foundation for playing the horn. He knows the proper techniques to strengthen the embouchure and the musical exercises needed to succeed. He has been a very reliable teacher and he was always willing to help my son with anything needed, such as helping him prepare for his solo competition. Overall, I am very impressed with how much my son has learned this year with Mr. Gallo's instruction and he went on to get the highest possible score in his solo competition and more importantly he really enjoys playing the french horn."
"Nate is awesome. He is very patient and focused on improving fundamentals. My sons playing has improved greatly over the last ten weeks."
"Chris is a fantastic musician and teacher. My son began taking lessons from him as a beginner French horn player. Chris brought his skill level up quic
kly and challenged him to play in the county solo and ensemble competition. The results were a supperior performance, with aclades from the judge to my son for learning all the notes so quickly (5 months). Thanks Chris you have made a life long impression on my son."
"My son has been playing for a year, but didn't have enough one on one interaction to work through the things he had difficulty with. Lessons with Pasqual
e have been good and he can focus on little things that can make a big difference. Definitely recommend."
