Maggie began studying music at the age of 5. After specializing in cello under the instruction of Elizabeth Benusis and 2 years of study at Interlochen Arts Camp, she began playing symphonic cello professionally at age 15. From there, Maggie earned her Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Cello Performance at Minot State University under the instruction of Erik Anderson. In the next stage of her education, Maggie completed her Master of Music (Mmus) degree at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, studying under both Rudi de Groote and Robert Irvine. Maggie has recently played with such symphonies as the Black Hills Symphony Orchestra, Minot Symphony Orchestra, Missouri Valley Chamber Orchestra, the Bismarck/Mandan Symphony Orchestra, the Edinburgh Contemporary Music Ensemble, and the Royal ...

A native of Portland, Oregon, Ivy began her cello studies with Stephanie MacDougal. Ivy holds a M.M. from New England Conservatory and a B.M. from New York University, where her primary teachers were Yeesun Kim-Kitchen and Clive Greensmith. While in New York, she explored various genres of music which lead her to perform with Grammy nominated R&B singer Maiysha Kai and Grammy award winner Chris Brown. Ivy has performed alongside members of the Vienna Philharmonic, Cleveland Orchestra, Metropolitan Opera Orchestra, and the Tokyo String Quartet. As a teacher, Ivy strives to provide students with a strong technical foundation, alongside developing beauty of sound, so a strong expression can be achieved in performance.
