Alex is not only fantastic at helping someone find the perfect rep for an audition/cabaret/book/etc., he's equally fantastic at helping you craft each song to be something more than just a standard piece. His overall knowledge of music theater and the anthology of music therein is top notch.
Alex is also a great person to turn to when you find yourself stuck in the same old habits. If something is feeling stale or you aren't sure why it isn't working, Alex's keen eye for actor crutches or cheats helps you break away from the same old traps and discover something new in every piece.
Truly a wonderful person to turn to when you're looking to turn your rep upside down!!

Singing
Last Minute Save

I needed a specific song for a last minute audition. For 15 minutes before the audition Alex played it for me and offered some ideas and different choices I could make. Not only did it help me connect with the piece but it also helped me vocally. The following day I went to an audition and booked the job with just one fifteen minute session.

I think what is most important to me, especially as a dancer, is that he provides a very comfortable environment where I'm not afraid to explore or try new things. He is also able to break it down into terms and ideas that are easy for me to understand and apply.

About michael

I have studied guitar thoroughly for the past 5 years. Its wonders have brought me immense joy and serenity. I want each and every student to discover the magic that music creates in our lives and the lives of others around us. Along with the disciplinary aspects of practice, learning an instrument such as the guitar can open imaginary doors like no other instrument. The musical possibilities are endless. *** Lesson Details *** Lessons with me can be either good or great. I am pretty laid back, but keep a strict tone at times. I like to form great working relationships, as well as lasting friendships with my students. I like to get to know who they are and what they love. It helps me discover how and what to teach them. People are different and like different things, so it is part ...

We are three lessons in, and I've come to understand more about acting and how I fit into it personally than I ever have even after several decades of participation. The lessons are useful and enjoyable, the homework is fair, and I think you should take advantage of the fact that you can just simply sign-up, pay a lil' money, and have access to such a great mentor/teacher!

John challenges me to drop everything I "think" I know, calls me out on my bs, and breaks me down to get to my essential me--the point where I really am present, feel, and love. On top that, his training in voice and body allow for the work to be done safely.

On a personal note, I consider John to just be a thrilling person to work with, and a mentor in my life.
Donald R. Dallas, TX

Children and adults welcome. I provide acting coaching from ages 4-adult in acting for film, theatre, and techniques such as classical, Meisner, Method, and Stanislavsky.

About Donald

I have established myself as an accomplished actor and acting coach who has been teaching acting classes for over 10 years. As acting is an ongoing learning process, I audit the classes of the best coaches from NY to LA to bring those acting techniques to my students online as well as my in-studio classes. In addition to teaching online, I have taught in-studio classes at Kids International in Washington DC, Take 3 Talent and Product Management in NYC, and Page Parkes School of Acting in Dallas to name a few. My approach to acting covers the entire theme of "Show Business". The "Show" is represented by the skill training techniques involved in my training to give an actor the skills to be the best actor. The "Business" aspect reflects the more technical side of acting such as what ...
