TOYA N.

Dallas, TX

I have a Masters degree in Acting from the acclaimed Actors Studio Drama School in Manhattan, so I am well versed in most every acting technique; including Stanislavski, Strasberg, Meisner, Chekov, Hagen, Stella Adler, and beyond. I've taught acting to children, teens, and adults in the US and abroad since 2005 and my students are working! My main goal is to help you to develop your own set of tools for practicing the craft of acting, and to better understand your unique voice as an artist. Make sure to wear clothing you can move in during our sessions, and, most importantly, explore and just have fun!

About TOYA

I have taught acting to small children, teens, and adults in community, private, and collegiate settings. I taught acting at the legendary Lee Strasberg Theatre Institute in New York City. My love of the arts has enabled me to study and perform in various cities throughout the US; including Los Angeles, where I studied at the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute, to Europe, Mexico, South America; then back to New York City, where I earned a Master of Fine Arts degree in Acting from the prestigious Actors Studio Drama School.

I currently work professionally as an actor, singer, and TV
and radio host. I've been fortunate enough to work in film, TV, theater, musical theater, hosting, commercials, improv, and voice-overs. I am also a vocally trained mezzo-soprano. Because I am still a working artist, I can not only teach you craft, but can assist you in making the right choices to navigate your own way in the business. I offer private coaching to actors in theater and film, and singers in the US and abroad. I would love to share my knowledge and experience with you.

*** Lesson Details ***
I offer private coaching to children, teens, adults who have an interest in acting or singing performance, and for those who simply have an interest in performing or speaking in front of others. In addition to coaching those who wish to better their skills in acting, voice and speech, and singing, I also offer coaching for non-actors; i.e., attorneys, business professionals, teachers, politicians, pageant participants, and other creatives, who want to improve their public speaking and communication skills.

Sarah M.

Dallas, TX

Tap in to the students imagination and engaging the important and essential instinct “to play.” Emphasis on improvisation, games, risk-taking, listening and observation through individual exercises and work with another.

About Sarah

Since graduating in 2003 from The Juilliard School with a BFA in Drama, I've worked steadily as a professional actress, musician, teacher, and writer, based out of both New York City and Los Angeles. In May of this year, I relocated to Dallas, Texas to be near family, and am excited by the potential of the impressive local arts scene here.

I love teaching and consider each student a gift. Taking part in minds opening and skills developing; discovering how to connect with each individual; the moment when a student's eyes light up and say "Ohhh.. I get it... its like/when..." - these are rem
arkable experiences to share.

Okay, to be specific about what working with me looks like! Lessons will emphasize:
1. open, honest communication
2. curiosity
3. defining and working towards your specific goals (or, figuring it out along the way)
4. a playful, flexible approach

Lessons will be supported with careful preparation and clear notes/practice suggestions (which will be emailed to the student within 24 hours of our session).

I look forward to the prospect of working with you!

My daughter's first lesson was great. Sarah was professional, friendly, knowledgeable, kind, and spoke to my daughter very positively and encouragingly. My daughter is happy to continue lessons and practiced on her own all week. We are all very happy. I'm so glad I found Take Lessons, and may even take some myself. I will definitely use it again for my other children's interests.

Sarah is amazing. She currently gives lessons to my 8 year old boy in singing and piano. She is soooo conscientious of making sure his experience with music straddles the line between fun and educational and my son is always excited for piano lessons. She has a very kind and gentle nature which is great for teaching kids, my son told me he doesn't vulnerable or ashamed if he messes up during his lessons (which is huge for him, he's not super good with criticism).

She has a genuine interest and concern for her pupils and is a pleasure to deal with as a parent. She writes follow up emails and gives me guidance for what my son should study that week (which is nice because I know nothing about music) and it's great tool for me to help him remain accountable.

His growth has been apparent but his confidence and love for all things musical is now blindingly obvious. I believe this has much to do with Sarah's instruction.

Whether it is for yourself or you child, if you don't chose Sarah as your tutor I am sorry to say that you are missing out on a talented, kind and committed teacher.

About Cameron

My name is George and I was born into a life of Directing that led me to create more than 120 national advertising campaigns for Fortune 500 companies and direct six feature films so far with more in the works right now.

Every actor i have worked with refers to me as an actor's director and I've been training folks to perform in front of the camera for almost fifteen years now, whether for my own films or for roles they are preparing for other filmmakers. I'm excited to open up my services and offer my experience to all newcomers as well as any veteran actors looking to brush up, sharpen
their skills or just stay fresh and current.

One of the biggest obsticles for actors is getting theough the dreaded audition. Any trained actor can usually deliver IF they get the part. But with so much competition and the terrible "audition jitters" to conquer, most people who don't get the part simply lose it in the room. I spend specialized time with you focusing on techniques to help you KILL it in the audition room.

Schedule time and you will learn PRACTICAL acting and STAND OUT FROM THE REST

Yes, Cameron is one of a kind. Very professional knows how to teach not just talk. Learned quiet a bit from him but the best thing, I think that I took from it was the love for film. I wouldn't change it for the world. Thanks again Cameron Romero.

I studied with Cameron at a time when I was transitioning from stage to film/TV and it was wonderful to be able to work with someone who had worked in both of those worlds and could guide me through. The simple techniques he showed made a large impact on me and are the fundamentals I use to this day.

Hello! I've been teaching acting for 10 years and my students have gone on to earn acting scholarships Guthrie, Tisch, CCM, Yale, Brown, DePaul etc.. Within the first few lessons, you'll be able to understand the basics of acting and as time goes on you'll be able to specialize in different methods like Meisner, Stanislavski, Uta Hagen etc.. I cater each lesson to your particular skill set and learning needs. I particularly love monologue coaching. I look forward to working with you!

I have been a freelance tutor for the last 10+ years and before that I worked at Sylvan as a certified ACT and SAT tutor and as a homebound teacher.

For the last ten years I taught English and Theatre in Fairfa

I also am willing to tutor in most test prep areas. I love working with students, and I hope to hear from you soon!
