Artesia R.

Kennesaw, GA

About Artesia

Hi, there! My name is Artesia and I can't wait to meet you!

I've been teaching private lessons since 2012 and have loved helping my students understand the basics of sewing, explore their inner designer and overall become more confident with sewing. I went to Spelman College and earned a degree in Mathematics in 2010. I also attended the Savannah College of Art and Design for two years studying Fashion Design.

In March 2014, I was a RAW featured artist showcasing handmade accessories, pillowcases and pillows. The following month I received the Most Creative award at the EcoFab Trash Cou
ture Recycled Runway for a garment created from everyday usable items. I have participated in the Summer Intensive Studies program at Parson’s in New York, NY and excelled in the sewing instruction from middle school to college. More recently, I won 3rd place at the Georgia Lions Foundation Night of Spectacles where I used recycled eyeglass wear on my original dress design.

I am a nurturing and fun person and my teaching style is student centered, facilitated to meet the level of the student, and slow paced. I look forward to helping you reach your creative sewing goals and explore your inner designer.

I am confident that I can be a strong mentor for your student and hope that we will enjoy our tutoring sessions together.

Artesia did an excellent job teaching my 16-yr-old granddaughter the basics of sewing on a machine, in just a few lessons.
Teen granddaughter says of Artesia,"She's a REALLY patient teacher!"
I say, "Artesia is an experienced seamstress, a quality sewing teacher, and a very nice young lady, too!"

Rachel M.

Atlanta, GA

About Rachel

Hi, there!
My name is Rachel and I can't wait to meet you! I've been teaching crochet lessons since 2013 and have loved helping my students learn how to crochet, advance their skills and create patterns of their own. I'm currently in school for Communications and Studio at Oglethorpe University and will graduate in 2017.

I'm an outgoing and patient person and my teaching style is one on one, slow spaced and tailored to my students needs. If my students are advancing quickly through each lesson then I will adjust accordingly. If they need more time learning then I will take my time with t
hem until they feel ready to move forward.

I look forward to helping you reach your goals!

Rachel knows her craft very well. She makes a lot of her own patterns and crochets everything from headbands, to bags, to costumes. She's a very good teacher; patient, a good communicator, and she's willing to work with you until you understand the technique you're learning.
