I began teaching while studying in Art Institute. My first students were 5 to 7 yr. old kids. It was very challenging, but also very rewarding. I was teaching them skills, they were teaching me patience. Later the age of my students grew, until I ended up teaching the same students I was in the same classes just 6 months ago. Again another challenge. I love challenges and even more I love helping others to overcome them. My philosophy about teaching is that everybody can learn, it is only the way how we learn is different for different people. Another very important thing - I strive to be cr
eative, respectful and approachable.

Dovile was great! She arrived on time. I wanted to brush up on my skills on how to make a pattern from an old dress. She is an excellent instructor. She explained things very well. By the end of the 2 hours I had a made a pattern and cut it out. I felt we accomplished a lot without rushing. It was definitely a 5-star experience.

My 11 year old daughter had a great experience with Dovile. So nice and convenient for her to come to our home. Our first lesson was an assessment of how much my daughter knew about the machine, a general overview of how to use and conversations between the two to decide on what to make. Loved that Dovile gave homework each time(make a bobbin, cut the material for next week, etc.) My daughter made a denim purse and gained skills and confidence inputting out our machine. Thanks, Dovile!
Hey, hey! My name is Blake and I can't wait to meet you! I have been practicing design in the corporate, fashion and entertainment industries for over nine years. I can help you with your goals from learning a new design software to getting advice on a project your currently working on. Whatever you want to achieve, I can assist you by finding the right path. My only rule is to take fun seriously!
Whenever I'm not at the computer, I'm an actor, improviser and director in Chicago.
Blake is kind and courteous and the lessons were individualized and geared to meet my needs. Blake met my expectations in teaching the functionality of a new program, and he gave me guidance designing. The lessons are easy to schedule and cancel if necessary.

As an experienced piano teacher of 10 years, I have taught over 30 kids of all ages and levels (from beginner to advanced). While I focus on classical training, I am open to teaching any style of music you prefer and will be sure to incorporate an element of theory, musical expression, sight reading, and most importantly, enjoyment. I make a big effort to adapt my teaching style to each and every student. Throughout the course of study, I also offer all students the opportunity to learn performance and composition, and participate in self-hosted semi-annual recitals. Music is a therapy for th
e soul and I am very excited to share this passion with you.
I also love to tutor students in mathematics and economics. Please feel free to reach out to me if you'd like me to help your child excel! I would love to help your child gain an appreciation for either subject. I am very patient and focused on success!
A bit about me: I am a classically trained pianist and have been playing/performing piano for 17 years. In college, I received a bachelors in Economics and Music, and was the primary accompanist for all vocal majors and music school auditions. Moreover, I am affiliated with the Lisker Music Foundation – a foundation focused on showcasing young, internationally acclaimed musicians.
While in school, I was also a Statistics and Microeconomics T.A. Post-graduation, I have taken Calculus 3 and Linear Algebra at the Northwestern School of Professional Studies. Currently, I am attending the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.
* A Glance Into How Lessons Work *
The main focus is you, the student. I will make sure to balance tailoring each lesson to your musical interests and helping you to grow professionally and technically as a musician. As such, the actual curriculum of the lessons I teach will vary greatly depending on your level and what style of music you find most meaningful to you.
I do expect my students to work on their assigned music over the week and to come prepared to all of their lessons. Music, while a great outlet for the soul, also requires a sense of commitment and self-motivation to improve. I want to instill these habits of mind in my students.
* Travel Equipment * I expect students to have a piano or full keyboard for practice and lessons. I have a wonderful connection to a couple piano/keyboard retailers and will gladly help you find the right instrument.

Cheryl provided a great learning experience about WordPress. I was not familiar with the program at all until I went to a workshop she presented at. Cheryl did not present the information in terms that were overly technical, making it easy to understand. Cheryl is definitely well versed in this topic and was very helpful in answering questions after the workshop. I would recommend her to anyone seeking to learn more about WordPress

I hesitated for only a moment before giving Cheryl a "Best Instructor Ever" rating because I taught computer applications for over 20 years ;-)
However, Cheryl's knowledge and enthusiasm are infectious and I had to be honest. She is tirelessly devoted to providing her clients with the best service she has to offer (which is the best!) and uniquely insightful and creative when it comes to not only meeting, but surpassing their wildest expectations.
