With a BS in nutrition and many years of experience as a nutritionist, Spanish tutor and yoga instructor I can help learn new skills and be healthier! I always like to adapt the lessons to reach each person's goals.
I took dance classes for 12 years and taught dance for 6 years at my hometown studio. I have taught dance lessons privately since April of 2014. There is a studio across from my apartment building with barres and mirrors. As a warm up, we could do barre exercises and other stretches to improve flexibility and to concentrate on technique. Then, we can do some core and leg strengthening exercises to build endurance and improve jump height and balance. There is plenty of room in the studio to work on kicks, jumps, leg extensions, turns, and choreography. I will bring my laptop to lessons in order to play barre music or to watch dance videos. For a first lesson, feel free to bring any recital or competition videos. This will help me to determine what we might want to work on in future lessons.

Hanna M is a recent graduate from Columbia College Chicago where she received her Bachelor of Arts degrees in Dance and Arts Management. Hanna has been a dancer since the young age of three and continues to train and perform throughout the Chicago dance community. Hanna took her first yoga class with her aunt when she was in high school and felt it was a great complement to her dance training. It wasn't until she took her first class at CorePower Yoga that she fell in love with Vinyasa yoga and discovered a moving meditation that awakened her to the journey of this practice. Hanna knew that she had to share this realization with others. Hanna received her 200-hour Power Vinyasa Yoga Certification from CorePower Yoga in the summer of 2014 and completed their Extensions program shortly ...

I have been teaching dance for five years. I love to teach beginners--whether age 2, 6, or 66. I also teach and choreograph for intermediate and advanced dancers.
I currently teach ballet, jazz, hip hop and tap to kids at Kaleidoscope Dance Center in Evanston, and ballet and tap to adults at Glenwood Dance Studio in Rogers Park. I previously created the curricula and taught ballet at the Robert Crown Center in Evanston, and before that I taught at the Batavia Academy of Dance.
I grew up training seriously in ballet, pointe, tap, jazz, modern, and lyrical primarily at the School of Performing Arts in Naperville, IL, where I danced with their performing and competing ensemble for seven years, and Ballet Legere in River Forest, IL, where I performed in the Nutcracker for five years.
Hi, there! My name is Darcy and I am a teaching artist in Chicago. I've been teaching and tutoring for eight years and I'm a graduate of Northwestern University. I love teaching because I love to get to know people and it is extremely rewarding to help others succeed at their goals. I pride myself in being personable and adaptable to different learning styles, and an upbeat, positive person.
