Have had over 12 years experience teaching singing. Proficient in opera, pop, jazz and broadway show tunes.

About Danielle

I have been taking the world by surprise since the age of 4. I began studying at Queens College at 6 years old and was a recital pianist by the age of 12. I was a consumer of music, from the Music Theory lessons on Saturdays, piano lessons on Thursdays and voice lessons on Saturday afternoons, my life was filled with music. It is to no one's surprise that I completed my first demo at the age of 13 and was performing for Queens Colleges audiences at 14. I went on the rank high in the NYSSMA series in both piano and voice. I also went on to study music in college and began touring with gospel troupes nationally. Since then I has done many workshops, Master Classes, tour dates, theatre shows etc. Too many to date. I am a sought after teacher for voice, piano and broadway singing. I train

I have been teaching voice for about 5 years now, and am an active performer myself in music theatre and opera. In lessons I work with my students on singing without counterproductive tension and learning to use their breath to support the sound in a way that’s healthy and will keep them singing their whole lives. I create a safe, supportive atmosphere where the student is comfortable to experiment, because I know from experience that is how real learning and expression happens. My performing experience and education allow me to also coach my students in musicality, style, and diction as well so they have all the tools to be elegant, communicative singers. I not only help the students understand what’s going on physically with their body and their instrument, but also give them ideas for ways to practice what they’re learning so they can be their own best teacher in between lessons. I am able to record lessons for my students so they can listen back and hear how the exercises we do in

About Emily

Singing and playing piano have always been a huge part of my life. I love to perform everything from opera and sacred music to music theater and jazz, and have been performing since I was very young. I earned my Bachelor’s of Music in vocal performance from DePaul University School of Music in Chicago. It was there that I fell in love with teaching, when I taught my first student as part of a course in vocal pedagogy. Since then I have built my studio to over 20 voice and piano students here in NY and CT. It has been thrilling to see all the progress they've made! I am currently pursuing a Masters of Music at Brooklyn College, where the schedule still allows me to teach my students. I have had several excellent and truly inspiring teachers myself with different teaching styles, and so

Emily knows her stuff!

I was impressed with how thorough Emily's singing lessons were. She explains how to breathe properly and why it's so important for vocal production. Her training space is comfortable and homey. I hope to take more lessons from her in the future.

About Foteini

Personal Statement I believe that progressive teaching must employ constructive pedagogical strategies to foster meaningful musical experiences for students to build and to exhibit competence. My pedagogical model is comprised of a student-centered approach to produce attainable challenges and to affect affirmative changes that will physically, technically, and emotionally enrich each student'™s performance. During instruction, I exercise scaffolding methods to facilitate the students' zone of proximal development and innovative questioning to augment students' cognitive thinking and critical thinking skills. The process of musical learning is purposeful when it is facilitated within a nurturing environment to motivate the students'™ intrinsic interests and that is my goal!

Patricia is an AMAZING teacher.

Personality: She is very welcoming, warm, funny and just a positive person to be around which bodes very well when it comes to learning and stepping outside of your comfort zone.

Knowledge: Just by looking at her credentials you know that she has a wealth of knowledge when it comes to music. However, her greatest gift is being able to relay all of that information to someone who may not have a very strong musical background. She is also very adept at making connections making the learning process fun and understandable.

Lessons: I have been taking lessons with Patricia for months now for voice. The greatest part of the lessons are that she does not only focus on improving your voice on a technical level. She helps with mental preparation, ear training, music theory and great deal of other things which helps students to become more well rounded. I believe this also helps students to grow in their area of study much faster.

Misc: Patricia greatly encourages her students to perform. If you are not comfortable going to an open mic, Patricia hosts a performance event for her students. This provides a safe and secure environment for students to express themselves an apply what they have learned in lessons.

I recently performed and while nervous the mental preparation that I described above helped me to "put on a show". I will continue taking lessons with Patricia and I am grateful for everything I have learned and experience in my time.

Patricia is an excellent teacher for all levels. I have worked with her teaching three year old beginner drum group classes, all the way to masterclasses for college students at CUNY on techniques to use when improvising in complex time signatures. She can teach anyone! Patricia makes the lessons fun all the while you gain inspiration. I also really enjoyed the concert she hosted for her students in the Village. Sign up, you won't be disappointed.

Was very accommodating and easygoing.

I very much enjoyed learning from Mike, he was very laid back and made me feel comfortable. Would recommend for anyone who's looking for a non "classical/traditional" educator.

The best Broadway, pop, and jazz singers all have one thing in common: technique. You will learn breath control, supporting the tone, and maintenance of a raised soft palate. We will strengthen your lower head register in order to safely approach raising your chest register. Learn to belt without screaming. Find your mix and connect your registers into one beautiful voice: your own!

My child has been taking piano lessons with Matthew for over five years (pre-teen to teen). I myself took a few lessons with Matthew, until my schedule no longer allowed for the continuation of those lessons. He is extremely talented and patient. Most importantly, he is capable of teaching people to play a wide variety of piano music. Not everyone can teach what they know. I highly recommend Matthew as an instructor for you or your family.

I have known Matthew for over three years. I took my son to him for Singing and acting lessons. Matthew is amazing. He is a very talented, creative, as well as an inspirational teacher. He is so kind and considerate to all that he teaches. Matthew is a drama student of the Performing Arts and is beyond incredible in his acting roles. His singing is stunning. When it comes to lessons, Matthew is the only person that I would bring my son too.

Matthew genuinely created my love for music. I began taking piano lessons with him at 8 years old, and then vocal lessons at 15. He not only made lessons fun, but has a true investment in his students' musical progression and talent. I can still remember when he sat down with my 12 year old self and convinced me not to give up on my musical talent just because I was frustrated with practicing. I would recommend Matthew to absolutely anyone, he is a wonderful mentor, friend, and teacher!
