Paul M.

New York, NY

My goal as a teacher is to make students successful in their goals. I work with a variety of people; some of them study music for personal enjoyment and others for their musical career. Everyone responds differently to music, that is why I prepare special lessons for each student. It is important that my students enjoy what they are playing and for that reason I have a variety of repertoire that they can choose from.
From a lot of experience with beginner piano students, both young and adults, I have been able to find a regimen of piano teaching that combines time efficiency with fun. As the lessons continue, I slowly add new tools to each weekly lesson that are exiting and interesting. While working with intermediate to advanced students, I have had coached them to apply and get accepted into some of the top Universities and Conservatories in the country. My students, beginner intermediate and advanced levels, have been awarded for their performances and activities in schools and ...

Paul is an amazing musician, teacher and individual. Over the course of a few weeks he specifically evaluated my singing and worked with me in order to improve my singing. With every lesson that I had, I was able to notice real improvement in my voice. Paul also exposed me to a wide array of musical styles, in order to better get to know my voice which I thoroughly enjoyed. He is very encouraging and friendly, from the first lesson he already works to help you feel comfortable.

All in all, by having Paul as an instructor you get to learn from an amazing, accomplished musician who truly knows his field and who also has a great personality while being a great teacher, I think that sums it up pretty well.

"I can help you" were words like music to my ears. Stephen quickly found areas of my vocalization that I could change to make instant improvements. He's been great in getting my confidence up and making singing enjoyable.

Michael Douglas J.

Patchogue, NY

: I endeavor to teach you a natural and easy vocal production; to teach you a good solid technique of singing and to help you develop confidence and a polished delivery as a singing artist on and off the stage.

Our work together is an intuitive journey of discovery. Your participation in giving feedback about what you are experiencing during our sessions together as well as what happens in your practice sessions and in your performances is an invaluable tool for us to discover and develop your voice.

Practice: I encourage you to practice 20 minutes a day. An hour is ideal. Singing is like anything that you want to master: it improves with work and investigation. The voice is a curiously individual element of each person and aside from the basics of technique no two voices work the same. Our work together is to develop your unique voice and to discover how it works. Working outside our sessions on a regular basis will help you take ownership of your voice and technique.

Teri is a premier vocal coach. When I first came to her, I didn't know what I was doing; I knew I had some talent, but didn't know how to hone it. Teri was just the person I needed. A vocalist herself from the school of hard knocks, Teri's real life artist experiences give her unique insights into what makes a vocalist tick and how to discover and nurture one's artistry. She has an excellent ear and is a phenomenal teacher. Teri has an upbeat style; always positive and encouraging, but also honest and straightforward. Teri tells it like it is out of love for the art form and her students. She's a vocal coach extraordinaire, and I highly recommend her.

When I first started lessons with Teri, I could barely be heard and had absolutely no technical skill, or even really the confidence to sing. I now am able to use the techniques Teri has taught me and have completely completely made over my sound as well as my confidence! I absolutely would recommend Teri as a voice teacher; she has taught me so much and always with stellar enthusiasm and expertise. I look forward to continuing lessons with her in the future!

We're searching for our own voice, for the greatest version of ourselves. With lifelong experience and his own personal library of exercises hardwired into his brain, Val is the perfect instructor to lead us to the promise land. His ability to dissect what is happening inside our vocal instrument is uncanny, and he packs the ability to translate this to the student effectively. Each lesson is customized to the needs of the student, and he also involves music theory when necessary to better help us understand and visualize the task at hand.

In my time spent with Val, I have seen week to week improvements both as a singer and as a song writer. I am grateful to have connected with Val as I am excelling in my craft each day and taking the steps to reach the potential he sees in me as a vocalist and musician.

I started just about 3 months ago. I'm 53 and never sang before. (Mouthed the words when the nuns made the class sing in grade school). I always thought that being a singer was an instinctive talent. Now I believe that with Val's help and guidance I can become a singer. I can feel and hear my voice developing. It will take time, but I have the confidence that it can happen based upon my progress so far.

About Singing

Singing lessons are one of the best ways to increase your confidence and lead the way to singing opportunities, either professionally or as a hobby. Our teachers are here to help you whether you are a complete beginner or are looking to improve on your current vocal skills.

Singing is a much more complex art than it first appears. It is near impossible to learn proficiently when just singing along to songs or looking at online resources. Private singing lessons will give you total attention from your vocal coach, in order for you to improve your voice quickly and effectively. Your voice teacher will also be able to see any weak points that a trainer of a choir or group class may not notice. This way, you will avoid developing bad habits that might impede your progress.

In your voic
e lessons, you will learn how to warm up, extend your range and strengthen you vocal cords just like professional singers. You will work on specific songs in order to perfect your singing, and most students will hear improvement in just a couple weeks.

Our certified vocal instructors are all experts in their field and can teach any level. We will find you a teacher who best suits your requirements, and your lessons will be customized to fit your needs and goals. If you would like to focus on a particular style, we have coaches who specialize in teaching modern, jazz, opera, gospel, R&B, rock, pop and more.
