Gerri G. Sherman Oaks, CA

About Gerri

My musical career has taken me around the globe from Japan, to the Caribbean as well as numerous cities in the U.S. and Europe! A New York City native, I graduated James Madison University's renowned music program, and began work in musical theatre, playing such roles as Z.’s Favorite in The national tour of “The Will Roger’s Follies, Sandy in “Grease,” and Velma Von Tussle in “Hairspray” regionally, to name a few. I then went on to tour the world with a cabaret show opening for legends such as Nell Carter and Neil Sedaka, and it has been a fantastic journey so far! Throughout my career, I have had the opportunity to sing most genres of music from gospel to pop and have a passion for encouraging students in their talents, singing the styles of music they love! I believe we are all so

Great instructor

Gerri is a great teacher as she brings out the best efforts in our daughter (who often approaches new ideas/people/activities with trepidation). She helps our daughter understand her lessons in a very clear and absorbable fashion. We highly recommend her.

Henry L. West Hills, CA

Provided class and private instruction for Latin Ballroom styles and created a social dancing technique to teach in weekly workshops at various universities.

About Henry

I have been tutoring students of all ages, including those in elementary school and high school, for over 8 years. Teaching and helping students understand and be intrigued by the gears behind the world we live in has always been a fun and exciting way to spend my day. I look at math problems not with the drive for a solution but with a focus on what questions needs to be answered. The process is particularly important and that is what I try to help the students focus on. During my time studying at CSUN I spent two summers preparing incoming college freshman for university level math, where I used a question oriented approach to help a class of students become better prepared for the rigors of mathematics at the college level.

Tara B. North Hollywood, CA

I've been dancing for 16 years! I'm trained in many styles including hip hop, musical theater, ballet, tap, and jazz. If you need help with a combo, or just want to get better at grooves, I'm here for you. I like to let the students tell me what they need to work on and I will cater my teaching towards them!

About Tara

I am an actress, singer, and dancer. I've trained in many styles of dance ever since I was three years old. I've done theater and television/film acting for 10 years. I've done many workshops and you can now look me up online! When I was in High School, that's when I started teaching kids dance and acting. I love the arts and I would love to share it with you!

I've danced with Tara in many musical theater productions where she was quick to pick up choreography and break material down to help others better understand and catch on to the movements. She is extremely educated in all forms of dance, and is very creative with her own choreography. She's extremely fun and spirited. Highly recommend!

Terrific teacher! Tara is a fantastic dance instructor. She's sweet and instructive, which makes you love learning from her. She choreographed multiple dance numbers in past theatre productions as well as dance classes I've been in. She has also helped me prepare my songs for 'The X Factor', making me understand my voice in multiple ways. I HIGHLY recommend you take lessons from her!!

Amanda M. Canoga Park, CA

I have danced my entire life and have been teaching on and off for 15 years. I will assess your level at our first meeting and set a class at that level. As you grow and become stronger I will adjust and increase the level of strengths and technique. We can perfect lead role choreography and audition routines. I enjoy inspiring a love for dance and watching all the hard work and dedication transform a child/adult into the dancer they want to be.

About Amanda

Growing up I was a member of the elite ballet training program at Westside Academy of Dance. This rigorous program consisted of 2 classes a day, M-F, and all day classes Saturday. I attended the Joffrey School of Ballet summer intensive programs in New York. As a professional I was a soloist with Aeolian Ballet Theater and Dance Electric. At MarVista Recreation I taught a variety of dance classes, such as Ballroom, and jazz hip hop ages 10 - adult. I specialize in intermediate and advanced level ballerinas looking to fine tune their skills for auditions and perfecting lead roles. However, teaching and inspiring young children has been newly found passion of mine. I enjoy watching the development of their skills reached by practice, patience and commitment.
