I can easily recommend Melissa J. She is bright, warm, patient and enthusiastic about teaching music. Our son instantly connected with her, and he has remembered every single thing she has taught him. If he had his way, he would take a lesson with her everyday! Big thanks !

Good instructor, goes at your pace/ability level

I've only been taking lessons with Rob for 3 weeks, but so far so good. After an 18 year hiatus from playing the flute, I decided it was time to go back to it. He's customized the lessons to go as fast as I am able to pick it up, as it is coming back to me quickly. I appreciate not getting stuck in a "set" order of lessons. He's knowledgeable, professional, a genuinely nice person and he is a very good, easy to understand instructor.

INSPIRED LEARNINGS!

We laugh a lot when I goof up and he kindly leads me to where it will be better. We have had only 3 lessons so far and I have practiced every day, sometimes more than once per day and he says he can tell. Rob is a very experienced teacher and musician.

Incredible teacher and mentor

Fernando taught my son guitar for many years, but also taught him the love of music. He was not only by far, the best teacher we ever found but also a mentor to my son. My son could not wait to work with him every week and worked hard to make him proud. He was and always will be a very influential person in my son life. Excellent teacher, wonderful man.

Hey Everyone! I’m Rob! I’m an instructor with over 12 years of teaching experience. I studied writing and received my B.A. at the University of Florida and received a Certificate with a concentration in Songwriting and Performance at Berklee School of Music in Boston. As a teacher, I completely understand the learning curve and have tricks to help you out in those difficult times. Lessons with me are constructed from scratch and tailored to exactly what you want to learn. My brother told me he found this great guitar teacher, and I was skeptical because he has been playing guitar for a long time and has never really sounded good. Two weeks after he mentioned him, all of the sudden he didn't suck any more. He was actually kinda good. So I tried a lesson with him and Wow! Within my first lesson I was already able to play a song! I can't afford lessons since I'm in school right now, but my brother still takes lessons with him. Even though I no longer take lessons with him I still call Rob and ask him questions about guitar all of the time, and he always makes time for me. I don't know where my brother or I would be without him. Great Teacher. Great Friend.

You will learn a lot and pick up a friend along the way.
Elisa R. Ventura, CA

About Elisa

Hello. I love to teach and I have devoted my life to obtaining the highest music education possible. Learning to play an instrument is fun but it is also challenging. My lessons consist of technique and general music training that include aural skills and music theory. My lessons are a lot of fun because I have high standards, but also maintain a light hearted atmosphere. I teach viola up until the masters level and violin to an intermediate level. My students have ranged in age from 4 to 35 years old and I feel that I can teach students at any age. Currently I am the Lead String Teaching Artist for the Harmony Project Ventura and you will find other credentials below. If you want to include learning to play the violin or viola in your life then I would be a great choice for a

My daughter started taking violin lessons with Elisa in January of 2014. She is by far the best music teacher that we've had! Elisa is very challenging but makes learning and playing fun. My 8 year old daughter has made leaps and bounds in music and can now read music after only a short 8 months of playing. My daughters bow hold and tone quality are absolutely excellent and it's because of Elisa! I would definitely recommend her as a teacher. You will not be disappointed.

Elisa is a very responsible, skillful, and sweet teacher

Before Elisa moved to Ventura, CA, she was a master student and taught in IP piano school and Kwong Kow Chinese School in Boston, MA. My daughter, Sarina, was one of her students. My daughter loves her so much and made good progress when Elisa was teaching her. Elisa made Sarina relax and comfortable so that she was enjoying the learning process; she emphasized on skill and poses, she tried hard to help the students to get to the best they could. She is reliable as you can talk with her about the timing change and make up lessions. She came to our house to say goodbye and hug Sarina before she left. She is a great teacher that you can count on and you will enjoy her teaching.

Viola
Elisa is a great teacher

Elisa taught my daughter viola for almost two years before she moved West. My daughter start viola when she was six. Elisa was very good with a young novice player - She explained musical concepts at an age appropriate level (but never dumbed things down). We were also pleased that she had high standards in her weekly expectations but always kept things fun and loose so as not to cause stress. Had she not moved we would still be employing her. Elisa is a great teacher.
