I work with those who are new to singing, and have had some beginning training.
With my Bachelor's from San Diego State University, I came to Chicago to pursue my Master's at The Chicago College of Performing Arts at Roosevelt University. I have over 10 years of performing experience, including soloist with the San Diego City Ballet's Orchestra, and singing in the San Diego Opera Chorus. I also have over 4 years of teaching experience in both singing and beginning piano. I have also worked in the educational world with children ages 4-17, and believe music can be learned at any age. Lessons are fun and creative, and will include activities to help understand concepts or games to get warmed up. You leave each lesson with a practice log for the week, and clear expectations of what you should be practicing. So if you want to learn to be a musician and you want ...
Opera involves all vocal techniques at once while learning with Opera arias and art songs.
I started my journey with singing in high school by participating in the school musicals and different choir ensembles. When I got to college I started taking private lessons and music classes for fun until I realized this is my passion. Then I started my journey with really learning the voice as an instrument and how it works. I am a vocal scientist at heart believing you will go a long way as long as you know how to grow. I then went on to get my degree at VanderCook College of Music where they teach nothing but music education so I was able to learn all the band and orchestral instruments on top regular classes and voice lessons. I took the time to study privately with our percussion professor to learn rhythms and with our sight singing and ear training professor to further ...
I love everything about teaching! I love music; it is my life. I sleep, breathe and dream music. I am a Columbia University Chicago graduate; I graduated with a degree in Music with a concentration in Classical Voice. I have performed in numerous operas and musicals, as well as, sung on Gospel Cruises all around the world. In my eyes, the student is the main focus so whatever issues, concerns or request the student may have I will treat them with priority. I am all about strengthening the natural born talent and making my students the best vocalist they can be. I'm here to serve the students and that is what I will do until they are confident in their gift...music. *** Lesson Details *** I take music very seriously but at the same time I like my lessons to be fun and a joyous ...

A Classical Voice, Opera Voice, or Opera Singing student must be at least 12 years old. Singing lessons are appropriate for ages 5 and older. Opera Voice lessons are the same as Classical Voice lessons, but with an emphasis on building power and endurance.
An adult voice or singing lesson has a minimum duration of 45min. The scheduling options I accept are either weekly recurring or Schedule-As-You-Go. All "recurring" schedules must be on a weekly basis. If you're not taking a lesson at the same time every week with me, then your option is Schedule-As-You-Go, which means each lesson is scheduled on an individual, floating basis, with no standing appointment. I generally recommend the Schedule As-You-Go option for my students. If the student is younger than 18, I must meet a parent/guardian before or at the first lesson. If the child's lesson is in my studio, the parent/guardian must see my studio before or at the first lesson. In my "studio" there is room for one student and one parent/guardian/friend. There is no room for any ...
