Jason F.

Baltimore, MD

About Jason

I have been teaching and performing as a full time career since 1994. Over the years, I have developed an approach to teaching that is customized to the needs and interests of each of my students. I will help you set up musical goals, and then use your preferred learning style to help you achieve those goals.

*** Lesson Details ***
Musicians think, learn, and create in many different ways. Some are visual learners, preferring to learn by studying diagrams and reading notes. Others learn intuitively, simply by listening, imitating, and then creating. My objective is to find the lear
ning style which works best for each of my students. I can help you set up musical goals, and then use your preferred learning style to help you achieve those goals.

*** Specialties ***
I'm comfortable teaching any style, from bluegrass to jazz, blues, rock and metal.

Though I was only able to take lessons with Jason for a couple months due to an unexpected move, I was able to learn a lot from him. I came in with very little guitar experience and no background in music. His lessons are very accommodating and I felt I walked away a little bit better every time. Jason is a great guy and it is easy to share your goals and ideas for the future with him. When working with Jason it felt like a team effort in order to help me reach my goals. In the short time I took lessons with Jason I learned a lot about the guitar and I am excited to build upon the music career he helped me to start. A definite Recommendation.

David S.

Highland, MD

David enjoys teaching students from all different backgrounds and levels of proficiency. Whether you are just starting out or a virtuoso shredder in the making, he is happy to teach you! Over all, he is fairly laid back, as long as you practice. He usually combines work with reading off of the treble clef (what he likens to "eating your vegetables." You may not want to do it, but it will make you a healthier musician!) with learning more popular songs (or songs the student says they would like to learn) through tablature and chord charts, depending on the style of the song.

David is also very pro music theory. He usually incorporates music theory into the curriculum in conjunction with the material already being discussed. He is also very knowledgeable about composition/songwriting, and if the student is interested in learning more about this area, he is happy to share what he knows!

About David

David is a successful singer/songwriter/guitarist out of Baltimore, MD. He has a bachelor's degree in Music with a concentration in composition from Salisbury University, where he also studied jazz and classical guitar . In the 18 years he has been performing (13 of those professionally) and playing guitar, he has released 4 CDs and written over 200 original songs. He has opened for major national acts like Journey, Maroon 5, Toby Keith, My Chemical Romance, The Used, Thrice, Story of the Year, The Bouncing Souls, Eric Hutchinson, Virginia Coalition and Graham Colton. In the process, he ha
s performed at such notable venues as FedEx Field, Nationals Park, Jiffy Lube Live/Nissan Pavilion, the 9:30 Club, Rams Head Live and the Recher Theatre.

As a teacher, David has taught in numerous locations in the Maryland area for the last 16 years. His students generally range anywhere from 4-70+ years old and come from a wide range of backgrounds and levels of proficiency, from basic beginners to advanced. Some of his students have also gone on to pursue careers in music, others have just learned as a hobby, and some have been somewhere in between the two. All are welcome!

*** Studio Equipment ***

*** Travel Equipment ***
I can provide amps and stands, etc if needs be. However, if they are already provided for the student's sake/in terms of the student (i.e. I'll bring the equipment needed for myself), this would be ideal.

*** Specialties ***

Unlimited patience! And that's on top of seriously knowing the instrument -- and how to get a rank beginner like me to play it. (Sort of. :) Highly recommended!

He's patient & cued-in-on what the client wants. He "gets it".
Example, I want to learn certain songs & not begin lessons from the beginning. Ergo, he does this, but, isn't reluctant, to suggest a what's helpful to do this.

LeeLee H.

Baltimore, MD

Students will be taught to play using classical techniques and will work on developing their left and right hands. In addition students will be exposed to the classical guitar repertoire ranging from Renaissance and Baroque through the 20th century. Students will also work on developing and expanding their musicianship and theoretical understanding of the music.

About LeeLee

While I teach many styles of music, I emphasize foundations in classical technique and encourage all of my students to have a basic understanding of musical principles in order to strengthen their playing and comprehension of the music. I received my Bachelors and Masters of Music in Guitar Performance from the Peabody Conservatory and currently teach and perform throughout the Baltimore area. All of my students are encouraged to participate in recitals and performances while they are taking lessons. I believe that sharing your musical talents is an important part of learning an instrument.

LeeLee is wonderful! My daughter wanted to quit guitar and hated practicing before LeeLee came along. Now under LeeLee's tutelage, she loves playing the guitar, and practicing is no longer work but fun! LeeLee's sweet and encouraging personality, along with her expert teaching skills, has really helped my daughter to shine. LeeLee is also very professional. She is always on time and is willing to work with my schedule when unexpected events come up. We are very thankful to have LeeLee instructing our daughter. She is a top notch instructor!
