Lauren F.

Parker, CO

Emphasis on auditions, dialects, monologues, and stage presence, stage movement.

About Lauren

***I specialize in teaching students 3-6 years of age***
I have taught music and acting for the past 12 years and I never tire of seeing my students progress and discover their talents! I have performed professionally with choirs, a cappella groups and theatre companies and have written and produced 3 musicals in the community. I believe in learning through creativity and the unique and individual interests of my students.

*** Lesson Details ***
I believe in allowing the student to take charge of their own learning. I have developed a program for piano that is geared towards learning the
basics and then building on that knowledge by teaching the student to teach themselves.
I cater to the students needs and interests, however I do focus quite liberally on theory and furthering my students' creativity. I'm not terribly strict, but I do expect a lot from those I teach.

Corinne D.

Denver, CO

About Corinne

Corinne D. specializes in healthy belting for musical theatre, pop, jazz, R&B, gospel and country styles of singing as well as classical and opera. She has been teaching privately since 2006, and spent two years as a student teacher for the Knoxville Children's Choirs, in her home state of Tennessee. Corinne holds a dual Master's in Opera and Musical Theatre Performance from Arizona State University, and a Bachelor's in Voice Performance with a minor in Theatre Performance from Middle Tennessee State University. Her healthy belt technique was developed through years of training in both classi
cal and popular styles of singing with pedagogues such as David Jones, Lauren Sawyer, Anne Kopta, and Dr. Christine Isley-Farmer. Ms. D. spent the summer of 2011 studying opera and German Cabaret singing, as well as performing at the Middle Saxony Theatre in Freiberg, Germany. When studying with Corinne, singers develop classical technique as a foundation and then learn to modify the resonating space to create the desired sound for their style- leading to a popular sound without strain on the vocal cords. A strong performer, Corinne also has thorough training as an actor, and integrates acting into her lessons to turn out not simply singers, but well-rounded performers. Her musical theatre credits include: "Die Dreigroschenoper" (The Threepenny Opera) (Jenny), "Der kleine Horrorladen" (Little Shop of Horrors) (Chiffon), "The Last 5 Years" (Cathy), "Once Upon a Mattress" (Lady Larken), "Anything Goes!" (Erma), "Pippin" (Fastrada), "High School Musical" (Ms. Darbus) and "Nunsense!" (Sister Hubert). Opera credits include: "Vanessa" (Vanessa cover), "Hansel and Gretel" (Witch), "Die Zauberflote" (First Lady and Second Lady), "Suor Angelica" (La Zia Principessa and La Maestra della Novizie), and "Tartuffe" (Elmire). Corinne is also very passionate about working with modern composers and playwrights, and sang in the premiers of the following musicals and operas: "Some-thing from No-thing", "Scarlet Letter... The Musical", "Queen Victoria's Floating Garden of Secrets and Natural Wonders", and "Mayor Moon and the Storytelling Festival" - a children's musical that premiered in the US and then toured in Honduras as part of Middle Tennessee State University's Honduras Project.

*** Lesson Details ***
Lessons generally consist of 1/2 exercises and technique, and 1/2 repertoire, style and performance. Repertoire is chosen by the student and Corinne together- she will never assign a student a song they hate! Sheet music of repertoire will either be provided by Corinne or purchased by the student (most can be purchased online, downloaded and printed). Corinne generally works with accompaniment tracks for singer repertoire, so students can practice with accompaniment at home, and she can focus on listening to their singing during lessons. These can generally be purchased on Amazon.com and downloaded very cheaply. Corinne provides all singers with high quality Mp3 recordings of each lesson for easy practice of exercises and review.

*** Studio Equipment ***
High quality Mp3 recordings of each lesson included in fee!

*** Travel Equipment ***
Keyboard, high quality digital recorder (Zoom)

*** Specialties ***
Musical Theatre, Opera, Jazz, Pop, Country, Performing, Acting, Theory, Alexander Technique, healthy singing for all ages!

Sian M.

Denver, CO

All great talent starts with a solid foundation. I can walk you through script analysis, character development, body language, tone, enunciation and pronunciation, tactic use, all the tools you really need to start learning how to act.

About Sian

I've always had a passion for teaching. Nothing brings me more joy than helping others learn something new. I just recently graduated from Wheat Ridge High School, and will be starting school at the University of Northern Colorado this fall to study Theater Education. I spent all four years of high school studying comedic and dramatic stage theater with Mrs. Autumn Ehrhardt, and am very comfortable teaching beginning acting. As for reading and vocab, I'm more than happy to teach anyone from younger students just learning how to read, to older students who need help catching up or just want to
polish their skills.

Amanda P.

Denver, CO

Experienced acting teacher available for beginner and intermediate students. I structure my classes individually - whether it be to develop a specific skill (such as acting Shakespeare, or preparing for an audition) or to work on improving general acting technique across a broad spectrum - film, theatre, television, and/or commercial. As a film and theatre professional, I also teach acting etiquette, so that when you walk into an audition room or on a film set, you are prepared for anything.

About Amanda
