I would like to take this opportunity to thank you Maureen for the piano lessons you have been giving to my mom.. It was so wonderful yesterday my brother and his family came to the house and mom played "Love Me Tender", of course by Elvis Presley.
It was a tear jerking moment.
Mom has had issues with her brain from a car accident, and her piano lessons with you have been the best, best thing for her....from our entire family,

Family Music Teacher
We have enjoyed having Maureen as our familyâs music teacher. My son started taking flute lessons with Maureen in 2009 and advanced through the levels very quickly. He plays flute in YOSAC (Youth Orchestra of Southern Alameda County). He also plays saxophone and tried out and was selected for the Alameda County Honor Band. Maureen worked with him on jazz theory and improvisation and he plays in the jazz band at school. With Maureen, he worked through all six levels of Master Theory and is ready for the college level AP Music Theory at 14 years old. He also completed the MTAC (Music Teachersâ Association of California) Composerâs Today workbooks and used http://www.noteflight.com to write his own music and participate in composition contests. My daughter has been taking piano and violin lessons with Maureen and has been doing a great job. She is playing classical music on violin in school and in YOSAC (Youth Orchestra of Southern Alameda County). On piano she is learning to play the blues and jazz, as well as learning theory and composition. Both of my children have been able to successfully participate in the LaHonda Summer Music Camp. We have had a great experience with Maureen throughout the past 5 years and have enjoyed seeing her each week.

Last October my daugther received piano lessons as a gift for her birthday. We started taking lessons with Maureen in November, my daugther, who had just turned 6 was very excited to start classes. Maureen had been very patient with her and caters to her ability and age. Sometimes my daugther gets discouraged, because she feels like she isn't progresing as fast as she would like, but after class she is always excited and ready to come home and continue practicing. Overall, I am pleased with our experience thus far. Maureen is very accommodating and is equipping my daugther with the skills she needs to be a successful piano player.
Educated as a band teacher, I am capable o assisting students in perfecting their skills on any of the saxophones .
I have a BS in music education received at Lehman College, Bronx, NY. I am a professional musician/ composer/ arranger.I received my teaching credentials at SFSU and have been a General music teacher as well as a, band teacher. I have studied trumpet with Classical ( Wilmer Wise)and Jazz musician (Bill Hardman) and big band arranging with Frank Foster( saxophonist and arranger with Count Basie Band). At present I am retired and teaching privately.
I have been teaching music for over 50 years as well as being a professional musician/ composer and arranger. I not only know my fundamentals ins
ide and out, but also I know many tricks of the trade. Over the years I have developed special teaching techniques that enable students to make sense out of music and progress rapidly on their instruments.I love playing music and aim at stirring that same kind of excitement abut music in my students.
To each lesson I bring a unique mix, encouraging the student to pursue excellence and also have fun. I am well qualified to teach: woodwinds( oboe, flute, clarinet, all saxophones) brass(french horn, trumpet, trombone, tuba), and piano.
*** Lesson Details *** I make music interesting to learn. I encourage students to practice daily so they can improve. The more they improve the more fun they can have with music not only alone, but with others.
I am very patient with my students especially with beginners. I know that for them it is like learning a new language. Once they begin to increase their musical vocabulary, they will enjoy what they can do with music.
*** Studio Equipment *** Seating for parents, basement studio, piano, drum set
*** Travel Equipment *** Students should provide their own instruments.

It's been more than a year of weekly lessons with Mack, and I could not be happier.
Mack is smart, quick, and knows how to handle kids to get results. There's no wheedling, bargaining or begging. It's just ok, do this, no, stop, do it again., No stop do it again, no stop do it again, and then good, that sounds good. I guess I should not be surprised, really, but my 13 yr old son cites this as what he likes best about Mack's instruction - it's all business.
Would I recommend Mack as a teacher for kid's music lessons? Yes, without reservation. Mack is an excellent teacher.
Always wanted to wail on the Sax? Why not learn how?

Took a few minutes but quickly started playing the scale. I have never played a horn or woodwind instrument and was quite surprised at how quickly Joe got me playing. Very personal and easy to work with. NO worries here.

Joseph is a highly dedicated and responsible teacher, who is pretty good at motivating children. Augustine loves Joseph's lessons and looks forward to it every week.
My lesson style is relaxed, and I want to focus on whatever style of music you are passionate about! Whether it's jazz, rock, Latin, reggae, classical, blues, or r&b, I can give you the tools you need to get up on stage and impress your friends and family!
I feel that every student is different, so I try to gear my lessons keeping that in mind! Within the first few lessons, we will create unique monthly goals together based on your desires and my insight.

This music teacher is in the perfect profession and truly has a gift as a teacher by having the ability to asses where the student is at and what the next step in the learning process is. Hi greatest gift besides being a super nice person is his ability to decipher your questions and get to progress very quickly!

I worked with Brian in both formal and informal situations for about four years. He gave me lessons on Saxophone, he helped me with music theory and aural skills, and we played gigs together. We also discussed and worked on music history, improvisation, and composition/arranging. Throughout all of this, Brian was always friendly, knowledgeable, and professional. Any student would be lucky to work with Brian. As a middle and high school band teacher, I can say that Brian is qualified to work with students of all ages. Finally, he's simply a great guy to be around!
I believe in teaching with honesty and integrity. In the past, I have learned under private teachers who did not care about teaching the saxophone properly and seriously which led to awful habits and horrible embouchure. The lessons will not only provide accurate information about the saxophone and proper playing techniques, but it will be circled around what you need as a musician. Although you not become a professional musician, it is still essential that any students deserve the best!
Hello my name is Yuh-Boh, I recently graduated from Sacramento State University with a degree in Music Performance in Saxophone. I have been playing the saxophone since elementary school and performed many recitals over the years. Currently I am preparing myself to apply to graduates for my Masters and in the meantime, I am looking for students to teach. It is important to note that I am trained mostly in the classical field and do not play too much jazz.

"Lena is a treasure. I have studied alto and tenor saxophone with her for over a year now. She is attentive, always watching and listening to me, and pinpo
ints exactly my mistakes and how to fix them. All with a great sense of humor and a big smile. I look forward to every lesson, because I always leave with something new to be excited about."

"I'm a more "Senior" student who decided that learning the saxophone needed to be at the top of my "Bucket List". I recognize adult students can be partic
ularly challenging because they're a bit more rigid in what they want. Carl is the perfect instructor for all ages. First he's extremely knowledgeable, making you confident he's leading you down the right path. He's has so much diversity in both instruments and styles that he's able to accommodate anyone. With this, he has been able to tailor lessons, mixing the basics with my desire to learn popular jazz tunes. He's picked up on the fact that I'm an engineer and have to understand everything I'm taught, so he's included music theory that makes the lessons, steps, and songs take on a more complete meaning (and improving retention). He's extremely patient and encouraging, as some of my lessons are after very long and tough work days; yet, he knows how to challenge you to ensure continued progress. It's coming up on a year that he's been my instructor and he’s made me so confident I'll stick with playing, that I upgraded to a professional instrument. Superb instructor."

"I've known Adrian for many years, and you won't find anyone more dedicated to the Saxophone and Flute - I mean what you see (and hear) is what you get! He
's in it for the long haul and willing to share his vast amount of experience.
I haven't taken continuous lessons from him, but I had the pleasure of hiring him to play and he's jammed with a bunch of my friends who play professionally. Adrian has been and always be someone I look up to to always provide tips and technique improvement suggestions. He does this with a true humble spirit. He meets you wherever you live musically and builds upon what you've already got.
Adrian is a talented Musician who can instantly engage an audience and keep them connected through his Music. If I had more time, I would take lessons from him regularly. He has so much to share musically and does it with a giving spirit.
Keep up the good work Adrian! I know the future is bright for you and all of your Students!"
