I have been teaching private lessons for close to 10 years and have been an active performer for even longer, playing in all different types of groups, from rock bands and jazz groups to orchestras and brass bands. I studied music at Frostburg State University (Bachelors) and the Peabody Conservatory (Masters). I've been teaching horn for 5 years and my students have gone on to place in district and state festivals at the high school level. Within the first few lessons, you'll be able to really understand how the instrument works and as time goes on you'll be able to understand how to make the instrument work for you. I specialize in private lessons for special needs students, or students who have autism. I love working with students of all ages and experience levels and I can't wait to meet you!
I have been working in education for almost ten years. I have worked in a variety of different formats, experiential education, substituting, long-term substituting, special education classrooms, autism focused classrooms, and now, as a teaching intern.
