A short history of my experience with music and education: The first instrument I learned to play was the guitar in 2001. I played the guitar on the worship team at FBC of Midway in Plant City, FL from 2001 to 2005. I began teaching private music lessons in 2003. I played bass guitar in a Christian rock band called of Anastasis from 2003 to 2005. I played acoustic, electric, and bass guitar on the worship team at Family Worship Center in Lakeland, FL from 2006 to 2012. I worked as a freelance audio engineer with my in-home recording studio throughout college (and now I just do it for fun). I played bass and sang background vocals in a worship band called Skyline from 2007 to 2009. I taught music and trained a student led worship team at Hope Christian Academy from ...

My name is Joey and I have been teaching guitar and drums for 4 years. I am 22 years old and have been playing music for 10 years. I have a strong passion for music and teaching, which is why it's my only job. If I am not teaching, I am playing or recording music. Music saved my life. I am completely dedicated to it. I strive to learn every second of my waking existence. And it rewards me. More than any other reward I have ever received, minus love itself. I love inspiring people in anyway I can. Bass guitar is all about the rhythm! I teach all styles of Bass, from finger plucked, to pick plucked and slap bass.
Born in Rapid City, South Dakota, I started taking piano lessons at the age of 6. Since that time, my love for music has grown with each passing day. I graduated from The Entertainment Career Connection in 2010 with a certification in Audio Engineering and Production. There I studied audio mixing, recording, production and mastering. I currently study music performance and non profit administration at Denver Metropolitan University. I am very active in the community working with my non profit, Wealth In Community Knowledge. In addition, I keep myself busy musically playing in my bands, Sing, Cicadas, and The Free Electric Band. I continue to follow my life-long passion for music by educating others. I believe that music lessons should be a fun and rewarding experience, and place
Bass lessons consist of proper technique, classic rock bass lines, and sight reading.
When I was growing up I thought music was like magic and that only special people with super-human powers could play. I would think to myself, "How are they doing that? I would never be able to play music in a million years!" It wasn't until I was 14 I discovered guitar magazines and a method of reading called guitar tablature that I realized anybody can learn guitar! With determination, patience, and practice I learned as many songs and techniques from my heroes (The Beatles, Jimi Hendrix, Led Zeppelin) as I could. I realized there is so much to learn about music that I could learn something new everyday. This still holds true to this day. I keep digging to find that magic place to which music can take you. It is my goal as a musician and a teacher to help other aspiring musicians (YOU!)
