This is my grandson's first 3 months with Kevin.Kevin is very laid-back and his cool looks makes my pre-teen grandson want to learn from him, which is important. Sometimes, Kevin's critique is unclear and his verbal follow up instructions don't match his written instructions. All and all, he might be prefect for my grandson, who is also very laid-back. Two laid-back peolple might not be a good combination. It could be that my grandson would learn more from someone who is a little more structured. I thought about trying a different teacher but my grandson seems to like Kevin and he is learning to play, which is the bottom line. So, we will stick with Kevin for now.
Chris S. Aurora, CO

The bass guitar is one of my favorite instruments! There is so much variability in what the bass can do in a piece of music, and when you take bass guitar lessons with me, you'll learn all the fun techniques that will make you a pro-level bass player. Our lessons will start with the basics, but my curriculum for the bass is designed to maximize your understanding of your new instrument and have you playing along with your favorite songs within your first to second month!

About Chris

A short history of my experience with music and education: The first instrument I learned to play was the guitar in 2001. I played the guitar on the worship team at FBC of Midway in Plant City, FL from 2001 to 2005. I began teaching private music lessons in 2003. I played bass guitar in a Christian rock band called of Anastasis from 2003 to 2005. I played acoustic, electric, and bass guitar on the worship team at Family Worship Center in Lakeland, FL from 2006 to 2012. I worked as a freelance audio engineer with my in-home recording studio throughout college (and now I just do it for fun). I played bass and sang background vocals in a worship band called Skyline from 2007 to 2009. I taught music and trained a student led worship team at Hope Christian Academy from ...

Excellent, patient teacher

Chris is a very patient and encouraging teacher. Also delivers fast success learning a new instrument. Our boys look forward to every lesson and don't mind practicing in between. Great fit for our family and very convenient lessons in our home instead of shuttling the kids to another activity.

I have been taking guitar lessons from Joey for about 4 months now and let me tell you it is a joy! Joey not only know music, music theory, and musical techniques, he is very passionate about it. He is very patient and can lead you down the path to help you achieve your goals regardless of the experience you currently have with your instrument. He is up front with you that learning to play is not magic, it requires hard work. I am 59 years old and finally decided learn to how to play the guitar after messing around with it on and off over the years. Joey has already got me playing the guitar solo from Maybe I'm Amazed and the intro riff to Purple Haze. He is also teaching me scales and music theory. I am having a blast! I would recommend Joey to anyone in any age group who is serious about learning to play. Thanks, Joey! Jeff Emerson

Great Teacher

Joey is an excellent guitar instructor. He is giving my son and myself exactly what each of us needs to be good guitarists, even though we are both at different levels.
Greg B. Denver, CO

I've been teaching bass for 10 years. I let the student chose whether they'd like to focus on pick, finger, or both use. Chart playing, and arpeggios are key to my curriculum.

About Greg

Hey everyone, my name is Greg. Some of you may know me as the lead guitar player from the metal band Allegaeon. What most of your don't know is I love teaching!! Here's a little bit more about myself: I graduated from the Cincinnati Conservatory of Music, with a Bachelors degree in classical guitar performance. I have a passion for a wide range of music including fingerstyle acoustic, classical, jazz, heavy metal and funk. I'm currently in the internationally known metal band Allegaeon, on Metal Blade records. I've been called accomplished composer, some songs of which have been released on Fragments of Form and Function€ (2010), a record some critics have hailed as one of the best metal records of 2010, and one inews called "one of the greatest debut albums of all time". TJ W. Denver, CO

Bass guitar is all about the rhythm! I teach all styles of Bass, from finger plucked, to pick plucked and slap bass.

About TJ

Born in Rapid City, South Dakota, I started taking piano lessons at the age of 6. Since that time, my love for music has grown with each passing day. I graduated from The Entertainment Career Connection in 2010 with a certification in Audio Engineering and Production. There I studied audio mixing, recording, production and mastering. I currently study music performance and non profit administration at Denver Metropolitan University. I am very active in the community working with my non profit, Wealth In Community Knowledge. In addition, I keep myself busy musically playing in my bands, Sleeping Giants, and The Free Electric Band. I continue to follow my life-long passion for music by educating others. I believe that music lessons should be a fun and rewarding experience, and ...

My daughter isn't afraid to ask questions and doesn't feel intimidated when she doesn't understand something. TJ is a great teacher. We couldn't ask for more!

TJ is a great teacher. I have learned allot in a short amount of time.
He caters the lesson to what I wish to learn while still making sure I learn to actually play not just learn the song. I have enjoyed learning from him and am still a student.
He does like coldplay but I will try not to hold that against him lol.

Great teaching approach

My goal was to be able to play songs around a campfire and TJ has been fantastic at tailoring our lessons to this goal. Every week I learn something a little new, but I also learn a song that is simple enough for me to play and which incorporates whatever new chord or technique he's introduced. I much prefer practicing actual songs vs. excercises and he always leaves me with a new song to play. He is also instantly likeable and lessons feel more like hanging out with a friend than a teacher. I would highly recommend him as a guitar teacher.
Steve B. Denver, CO

Bass lessons consist of proper technique, classic rock bass lines, and sight reading.

About Steve

When I was growing up I thought music was like magic and that only special people with super-human powers could play. I would think to myself, "How are they doing that? I would never be able to play music in a million years!" It wasn't until I was 14 I discovered guitar magazines and a method of reading called guitar tablature that I realized anybody can learn guitar! With determination, patience, and practice I learned as many songs and techniques from my heroes (The Beatles, Jimi Hendrix, Led Zeppelin) as I could. I realized there is so much to learn about music that I could learn something new everyday. This still holds true to this day. I keep digging to find that magic place to which music can take you. It is my goal as a musician and a teacher to help other aspiring musicians (YOU!)

Steve has been great so far. His skills are up-to-snuff and his manner is perfect for a young child with a wild imagination. But more importantly, Steve communicates very well and is on time. This may seem like small stuff but it's uncommon in the private music instruction realm.
