About Scott
Hi! I'm Scott. I perform with a one-man band setup I created which has a modified guitar and foot pedals to control a drum set while singing. I have a recording studio at home, and have performed with bands as a singer, guitarist, saxophonist, bassist, percussionist, and as a sound engineer. I've written, performed and recorded my own album which made it to the 2nd round of the 52nd Annual Grammy Awards, and was a voting member of the Philadelphia Chapter of the Grammy Committee and NARAS (National Association or the Recording Arts and Sciences.) I started piano lessons from age 5 and just
kept picking up more instruments and gear as I got older and never stopped learning or enjoying it

*** Lesson Details ***
I have been teaching Guitars, Basses, Percussion, Piano, Saxophone, Music Production, Recording, and Live Sound for 13 years.

I can teach you note-reading, tabs, ear training, music theory, composition, improvisation in just about any style of music.

Working with people writing songs is something I enjoy thoroughly; I can help you write and record your own songs. A computer and internet access are preferred to take full advantage of the technology for learning and producing music.

Knowledgeable in Instrument repair, set-up, and maintenance, I can help you fix it, and how to spot a good instrument.

Patient and experienced, with a broad knowledge of music in most areas, I can give you hundreds of good references from previous students I've taught over the last 13years

*** Studio Equipment ***

Guitars, basses, percussion and drum sets, a piano, saxophones, hand drums, a 20-track digital recording studio with monitors that are equalized to the room's acoustics for accurate listening and mixing and an assortment of microphones, amps, mic stands, cables, and connectors and the best part ... I know how to use them all together!

I have been playing drums for over 6 years and experienced in several genres including Gospel, Jazz, R&B, Hip-hop, Reggae, Soul, Oldschool, and more. In my lessons, I will begin by teaching the basics of reading music, and how to apply reading concepts onto the drum set. In later lessons, I will demonstrate rudimentary concepts, and introduce students to different genres of music, ensuring that they become versatile and balanced players.

About Malik
Malik H. is a Philadelphia native musician. Beginning his music career in high school, Malik has made significant accomplishments during his time playing. He was a member of the Central High School Jazz Band, and also being selected for the All-City Jazz band in 2011 and 2012. Malik has studied under Dan Monaghan, Jazz drums teacher at Temple University. In addition to his Jazz studies, Malik displays versatility by playing at Greater Exodus Baptist Church, and playing for several local artists including genres of R&B, Hip-hop, Rock, Gospel, and Pop. He has played at several venues throughout
the Philadelphia area including The Arts Garage, Warmdadddys, The Underground Arts, The Kimmel Center, The Philadelphia Convention Center and more. Significant performances he has participated in includes opening acts for Sugar Hill Gang, Tye Tribbett and Kierra Sheard, and performing with James Fortune and Karen Clark Sheard.

As a student at Valley Forge Christian College, Malik has participated in the Wind Ensemble as well as student led “The Art Of” music group. While in college Malik returned to Central as a student instrumentalist mentor where he demonstrated concepts in Jazz to young instrumentalists, enhanced overall understanding on drums to students, assisted in developing technique, and how to read music. He has also participated in Central High School productions of three musicals including “Annie Get Your Gun,” “West Side Story,” and “Hairspray,” where he was a member of the pit orchestra.

In fall 2013, Malik transferred to Temple University as a Entrepreneurship major with the goal to start his own entertainment company promoting positive arts. Malik believes today’s artists and entertainers play an important role in in the health of communities and society in general. He believes Artists have the opportunity to reach people in a way no other form of media can, and must take responsibility for the content that they put out. The great deal of negativity in today’s entertainment industry is the driving factor to Malik’s Hard work.

Upon completing only one year at Temple University, Malik moved to Tampa, FL in February of 2014 to expand his connections and grow his business. While in Tampa, he has worked with several artists, including Indie groups Legacy West and House of Woodbury. With Legacy West, he played the role of the drummer and producer, and was able to take the group’s music to the next level of production and played on the recording of their single “Take It or Leave It,” which won the Akademia award for best song in November 2008.

Today, Malik currently resides in his hometown, where he works at The Soundlounj, a rehearsal venue in the East Oak Lane section of Philadelphia, and House on the Hill Recording Studio located in Belthlehem PA. He is also working on several projects, which includes the band that he has formed, NewERA, and several NewERA artists.

I've have been working with individuals with their drumming skills for about 3 years. I'm passionate about working with individuals to achieve their goals. Within the first few lessons, I want to get a sense of your current skills and goals so that I know what you want to expect or get out of the lessons. I specialize in various styles and typically use the books "Groove Essentials" by Tommy Igo and "Drum Sessions" by O-Gormon. I love working with students of all ages and experience levels and I can't wait to meet you!

About Chris
Hi! I am a recent graduate of Marywood University where I graduated with a degree in Music Therapy. I am currently an music therapy intern at BOCES and have significant current/past experience with children, adults and elderly who have disabilities.

I started taking snare drum lessons when I was 9 years old. Soon, I was taking drumset lessons and participating in my high school music program. Graduating from the music program at Marywood University gave me significant knowledge in the field of percussion/drum-set. Classically trained, I was taught over the course of four years on Mari
mba, Timpani, Snare drum and Drumset.

I have also served as a worship leader at Parker Hill Community Church in Scranton, PA where I played drumset to Christian Rock songs. This experience gave me the opportunity to lead and play with a rock band.

My previous experience was mostly with kids/young adults ranging from ages 8-22 but am open to other ages as well! If you are interested in either learning to learn some Rock-and-Roll beats on the drumset or learn how to play Solo Marimba please feel free to contact me!

Chris is a great instructor. Happy he was available to teach in our home. He was very good at working with our 6 year old daughter. Very focused lessons and recognizes when kids need a minute or two to take a break and do some fun things.

Man, I've never felt so inspired to release all of my passion and intensity into the drum. He truly awakened the potential that I didn't even see in myself. Highly recommend him, not only because of his impeccable technique, but his drive to watch his students succeed.

I take pride in covering material that many fellow instructors skip. I'm not just saying that, I've truly been surprised and oftentimes bothered by what some teachers start with and focus on.
-I focus on proper grip technique and spend as much time as needed making sure this is correct.
-I take time explaining the basics of rhythm, meaning how the rhythms fit together and interact.
-I encourage using a metronome but also require my students to improvise.

About Carlos
Hello, my name is Carlos P. and I teach drums at the School of Rock in Easton and Allentown Pennsylvania. I also teach private lessons at my home studio as well as at a few student's homes. Between the two I have 30+ students that I see each week, the youngest is 5 and the oldest is 53. I take pride in my ability to walk the line between having fun and working hard and I guarantee you will do both when taking lessons with me.
