About Da-Rell
I am a hip-hop/house/contemporary dancer with professional/classical training, an academic background, and a passion for taking my students to the next level. I received my degrees in Dance, Psychology and Philosophy, and use these fields as a framework to help direct and assist students in learning how to train their bodies and minds in many different disciplines. I've lived in many cities and always learned each city's dance styles.
I can teach: popping, locking, waving, tutting, liquid, sliding, house, footwork, breakdancing, acrobatics, choreography, improvisation, and theatrical.
I can help you build your own style. A style that specifically pertains to you. I'll show you how to incorporate concepts, themes, and ideas, to tell a story, or to just express yourself through movement and rhythm.
I love teaching, and I love that look i
n a persons face after they get something that was tough. I love helping them understand what they could do differently to yield different results.
If you want to learn hip hop, house, or fusion- I am a very patient yet motivating teacher. I can be strict at times, but only when needed ;-)

Classes focus on ideas and concepts as well as ways to act them out. We learn how to utilize balance, emotion, finesse, attention, and focus to transition between movements. Exploring performing with character, style, technique, and form to develop their own individual philosophies on movement. We dissect different instruments and rhythms to experience them in different parts of the body. Integrating hip hop, ballet, modern, house, and martial arts into one cohesive style.
My goal is to foster artistic growth and to help you surprise yourself!

Da-Rell is a very knowledgable and sensitive teacher, who worked with our son who definitely needs this special attention. We are sorry our son doesn't live in Da-Rell's area.

Da-Rell and I hit it off right away. In less than a day we already had a dance lesson planned, and we got right to it. Da-Rell has groove and is the number one recommended hip-hop dance trainer from the Take Lessons company. We went over moon walking, sliding / gliding, and other modern hip-hop moves. Da-Rell also helped film the dance moves on camera so I could keep the video as a study guide. Thank you Da-Rell!

About Sara
Hello! I'm Sara!

I started dancing at the age of 3. I am well versed in Ballet, Modern and Jazz. I attended Joffrey San Antonio (2004) and Paul Taylor New York (2010) intensives.

While in high school I taught Ballet, Jazz, Pre-Pointe and Pointe classes to dancers age 3-14.

In 2011 I graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Ballet Pedagogy (which is the art or science of teaching).

Since moving to NYC 5 years ago I have been focused on performing with such dance companies as Exit 12 Dance Company (2011-2012) and Community Dance Project (2013-2014). While not dancing with specific companies I have choreographed and danced in two music videos.

I can't express my love for teaching enough! To know that I could help spark the passion of dance in a young person is extremely inspiring.

Please inc
lude your area and availability in your messages!

I would prefer to teach students with professional or aerobic goals. Social dancing is not one of my subjects.

“I've tried to learn English for a long time and, though I learned a big amount of words , I wasn't able of having a short conversation with nobody. Teacher Beverly have been making a great job by identifying my difficulties and then working hard straight on it at abslutely enjoyable online classes. I'm really happy because in a few time I've improved my English skills as I've never did before, nevertheless I'm sure that there are so much to be learnt from her yet.”

My english is very poor, but beverly is great, I do not understand, she will say over and over again, let me understand. The most important, she makes you from simple to difficult little bit to master English grammar, not boring. At present, I have already said a lot of sentences. I'm very happy.thank you teacher 🌹

Huang is an exceptional instructor. He is patient, thoughtful and just has a lovely calming disposition. in terms of his instructional skills I would offer this: a gifted teacher is one who immediately lasers in on what subtle adjustments will have the biggest impact, and then, equally important, he is able to articulate/communicate to his student...how to successfully incorporate these changes. I took one lesson to try it out and now I am set to purchase ten more!!

Keomi has a lot of positive energy and is sensitive to the the skill levels of her students so she tailors her classes to give just enough challenge while building on students’ strengths and experiences.
Keomi gives a great cardio workout where you really sweat yet the class is so fun that you don’t notice how hard you are working!
You WILL learn many classic hip hop moves which Keo strings together to make a sexy/cool but accessible choreography. You come out of class feeling blissed - both for the vigorous workout and for accomplishing the dance moves! This is a great class for all levels.

I started martial arts in 2005, specifically in Long Fist Kung Fu under World Kickboxing Champion, Master Karl Romain. I trained at his school for a year and half and made it to purple sash. Unfortunately, I injured myself during training and could not continue. After a long road to recovery, I started to look for a martial art that did not have any forms (katas) and was strictly self-defense based. My research led me to Bruce Lee’s Jeet Kune Do. I read into its history and how the man himself, Bruce Lee, was at one time injured and gradually became a better martial artist than he ever was. I looked into who Bruce’s students were and one student caught my eye, a man named Ted Wong. Ted Wong was known for being Bruce’s last student but was widley recognized of how he moved like the man himself. Unfortunately, Ted Wong resided in California
and I had no funds to travel back and forth. I did further research and found a list of Ted Wong’s students. Luckily, there was one student and certified instructor by Ted Wong, located in New York state named Richard Torres. I come to find out that his Jeet Kune Do school was 63 miles away from where I was located. Nevertheless, I emailed him and made my first appointment. I still have that email. Did I drive those 63 miles to train with Richard Torres? You bet! Since August 2007, I have been a student of Sifu Richard Torres. In December 2014, I was promoted to Instructor and in May of 2016, I was given permission to teach on my own.
